DD was 7lb4oz.
DH was 9lb, so that theory works out for us too

I was just under 6lb.

My daughter was 8lb 8oz at 36 weeks.

I have always put the difference down to smoking - both of my parents were heavy smoker, whereas I have never smoked.

There is another thing which makes me blame the smoking - I have one sister who is two years younger than me who was a similar birth weight, and another sister who is much younger and was born ten years after my parents stopped smoking - she was 10lb at birth.
