I have been having period like pains and backache since friday evening, last night I had an hour and a half of really intense contractions every few minutes, that suddenly stopped, had a few this morning as well, but now back to the period like pains and backache, how long could this go on for?

LOL 'probably'
Exactly how i feel!
have sent DP out to work and DM out for breakfast after the school run as if nothing is happening, but i'm secretly getting a bit 'oooh, yes, probably!'

bounces on birth ball with a smile

yippee sounding wonderful Merry, keep doing what you are doing and enjoy the space you have created for yourself.

Hurrah for Merry! It's about bloody time, girl!! I'm sooooo happy for you...dancing round smiling. Now go and have that baby and report back!! So pleased!

JFly · 10/03/2008 09:29

Go MB! Bounce that baby out!

fitnfortyone · 10/03/2008 10:34

ooh MB keeping everything uncrossed for you today!

Waiting for m/w to turn up to check my bp again after the "borderline" measure yesterday. Probably shot up again as MIL just phoned to see how i was despite only seeing her yesterday evening and her being under instructions only to phone DH for updates. Pah.

Jaysthird · 10/03/2008 10:37

still lurking here....MERRY!!!! how good that something is happening for you. Lots of positive labor vibes winging your way!!

merryberry · 10/03/2008 11:54

no faster, no slower, no stronger, no weaker. going on for about 18 hours now. contract every 7-12 minutes.

MW due at 1pm, am dreading any 'your cervix hasn't changed at all' news...

Jaysthird · 10/03/2008 12:35

Just seen the community MW- and for a 'robust lady' - she has the littlest hands i have ever seen.....however she managed a sweep, but things haven't really changed since last week. Great...she recommended sex. - Thanks for that.....

She also said she thought it was Back to back, first time this has been said in my pregnancy.. for gods sake, wont anything go right with this frigging labor [very frustrated and pissed off emotion]

VERY good luck MERRY with your appointment

spugs · 10/03/2008 12:58

oooo its looking good merry, we might get our 2nd? baby on this thread hope the mws appointment goes well and she says your 7 cms dilated and didnt even notice

MissingMyHeels · 10/03/2008 12:59

Good luck for the mw Merry!

MerlinsBeard · 10/03/2008 13:17

what??? No babies?? [evil grin]

merryberry · 10/03/2008 13:34

7? in me dreams.

MW been and gone, dilated to 3cm, soft. Me, not her. Had a sweep at my risk as it were as she thinks the very first part of the waters may have gone. I need to take my temp every four hours to ensure no infection introduced by exam/sweep just now. But I just gave her the look when suggested I haul arse down to hospital for high vaginal swab. Have had to swear blind to report any ill feeling.

Am actually feeling fab, TBH. Could do with more contractions, more productive please. Clock is going tick tock on our care arrangements, i will have to have this induction on weds if not progressed by then. But that's grand, this is a favourable crvix!

MINNIE1 · 10/03/2008 13:47

Ohh exciting stuff keep us posted..

Jaysthird · 10/03/2008 13:50

I know shes not part of the 'gang' but my Friend (in RL) gave birth to her baby daughter this afternoon. Annabel, weighed in at a healthy 8lb 12 and both are doing well.......

.....she was due 2weeks AFTER me!! BAH!

nothing happening here!

Hows Merry?

turtle23 · 10/03/2008 19:32

Hmmm..no Merry for 6 hours...could it be?!!

MerlinsBeard · 10/03/2008 19:56

reeeeeally hope Merry is busy birthing!

AM having feeding issues today and a nocturnal baby

jays, when is your due date?

merryberry · 10/03/2008 20:14

nope. after the sweep was having much stronger contractions. but we've just had a meltdown in the house with ds1 tantrum no onelse could stop except muggins here. mum has walked out all upset. dp is suklking he coul;dn't stop tantrum. erm, not the time to refine your parenting skills people, really not. contractions stopped, restarted ragged but have died off now. feck it. get over yourselves, i'm trying to whacka baby out.

hospital looking ultra appealing for first time...

oh well maybe they will come back.

turtle23 · 10/03/2008 20:31

Merry...you know that adrenaline stops them dead. I demand that you go have a relaxing bath and crawl into a nice quiet dark place so that it all comes back.

Lulumama · 10/03/2008 21:57

oh yes, dark, quiet, privacy..... talk to baby, visualise......

MarsLady · 10/03/2008 23:57

ditto lulu!

Make up with DP. Get a bit of loving in, then make it completely dark except for a few candles maybe. Yes... candles. Make it mellow. Visualise and tell your baby it is time to be born!

Lulumama · 11/03/2008 09:03

sooooooooo.......... how is everyone today?
