Hey mummies!!

I am not sure if there is a thread for January 2018 babies already.... but I can't find one!
Due date 21st Jan but feel like I am going to pop anytime soon, currently 38 weeks and 3 days with first baby... really excited, extremely terrified of birth, lots of anxiety but I can't wait to not be pregnant anymore and meet my baby! Still have no idea what I am having but makes it so exciting.

Anyone else also terrified of giving birth? Was really tempted to ask for a c-section but baby is in great birthing position so didn't have the heart to ask!

Would love to hear some positive stories and would love to know am not the only one shitting myself!!

Due date 22nd so i am a day behind you! This is my second though!

Good luck Star

NewMummy29 · 10/01/2018 22:45

Ah lovely! How are you feeling? I am pretty bored all I do is spend most of the day in bed. When I do go out I get tired so quickly... meh Hmm

Due 24th so 38 weeks! So ready for this to be done now, everything is getting really uncomfortable. Feel as prepared as I can be for birth but would still like it to be done. The waiting is awful!!

NewMummy29 · 11/01/2018 00:26

I know how you feel! Feeling the same just want to meet baby now and not be pregnant and feeling like a whale anymore Confused but still really nervous... are you going for all natural? I said no to epidural... just gas and air

I've been looking for a thread like this too! I'm due on the 18th and half wishing it would hurry and happen now but also terrified of it happening at all Grin

NewMummy29 · 11/01/2018 01:08

Feeling exactly the same! We just need to keep reminding ourselves that women have been doing it for years and years, so I am sure we will be fine as well haha

LeeLou456 · 11/01/2018 01:58

I'm due on 28th, can't wait!

Ljpoz · 11/01/2018 07:55

Hoping for as natural as possible but sure most people say that; will have to wait and see. Been symptom spotting and over thinking everything. Keeping my fingers crossed as been up all night with period pain but will prob not turn into anything.

Sarahrose21 · 11/01/2018 07:58

Due today but alas no sign of the stubborn little monkey

NewMummy29 · 11/01/2018 08:17

@Ljpoz I am so scared I am not even aiming for all natural lol I just don't want epidural... too many side effects so it is scary!!! But I guess you can never really plan birth, every birth is different and you just don't know how it ganna go! Let just hope for easy one.

@Sarahrose21 best of luck!! Try walking, eating pineapple and more walking. Hopefully this will help bring labour Grin

Can I join please? Was due yesterday! Feeling very uncomfortable now and can’t wait to meet my little one!

MummyToBeAgain1 · 11/01/2018 09:09

Can I join too Grin

I'm 38+3 today and since 12pm yesterday I was getting contractions every 25 mins and then every 15-20 mins.. until 11pm and then they just stopped and now have started again this morning.

Not sure how long this will take..

I guess you sort of go in to your own bubble and focus on your breathing to get through them!

Goodluck to you all xx

NewMummy29 · 11/01/2018 10:17

@countryred of course you can! Aww bless you I know exactly how you feel, maybe try things that may help to bring labour.. google says lots of walking! Which is I am not doing either lol spending most of day in bed!

@MummyToBeAgain1 ofcourse you can! I am only a day ahead of you, but I am yet to experience any contractions, I have no idea how they feel like but I am sure I will just know it when it starts happening... wishing you the best, from your name I assume your a mummy already?

countryred · 11/01/2018 10:46

@MummyToBeAgain1 I know how you feel I have had contractions start and stop for about 2 weeks now! Very frustrating, although I have heard that it can be sign that it will make ‘real’ labour slightly easier (if that’s possible!!)

@NewMummy29 thankfully my dog needs plenty of walks so it’s making me get out of the house rather than just sitting around! Found adjusting to not being at work quite hard. Keep just thinking I’m on leave and I’ll be going back soon!

Ruthcarr1990 · 11/01/2018 22:07

Can I join? I was on a tread but it’s filled up and can’t seem to find it now.

I’m all set to go in tomorrow for elective c section!! Starting to 💩 myself now!!

Blitzed the house again tonight so I’m all set. Let’s hope I can get some sleep!! Xx

vjp25 · 11/01/2018 22:13

Can I join too 🙏🏼☺️ I'm due January 19th (this also happens to be my daughters birthday 🙈) the thought of birth is definitely scary but your body really does take over, I had a pretty straight forward birth with my daughter so praying for a similar one this time 🙏🏼 hope all you ladies are feeling ok Smilexx

vjp25 · 11/01/2018 22:13

Good luck @Ruthcarr1990 Smile how exciting!

NewMummy29 · 12/01/2018 00:35

@Ruthcarr1990 how exciting!!! You get to meet your new baby. Wish you all the best and a speedy recovery! Let us know how it goes 😍

NewMummy29 · 12/01/2018 00:37

@vjp25 heeey, you only couple of days ahead of me!! So nice to finally speak to someone who's going through the same thing! Ah atleast to an extent you know what to expect.... I always been terrified of the idea of giving birth so I can't even educate myself without panicking! I guess ignorance is bliss in my situation otherwise I will just over panic lol😂

Here's the group! January 18 #7 The one with all the arrivalswww.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/3132742-january-18-7-the-one-with-all-the-arrivals

vjp25 · 12/01/2018 08:03

@NewMummy29 I think it's always a panic thinking about birth no matter how many times you might have done it before! Ignorance is definitely bliss I think I'm worrying more about it this time than last time and like I say mine was pretty straight forward although she was back to back and look like this one is too! How has your pregnancy been? Mine has gone so quick but now its nearly time I'm getting very impatient lol! Smile

Lurch87 · 12/01/2018 10:58

Hi,

I'm 6 days overdue now with my first. No signs of anything happening, getting a bit fed up of the waiting! Getting more nervous by the day

NewMummy29 · 12/01/2018 13:00

@vjp25 ahhh I thought so! Yeah I can imagine because you sorta know what to expect but again every birth is different lol, my mum said the same thing to me she's letting me live in my fairy tail and don't want to spoil it for me lol... pregnancy been okay, I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would, I didn't have all that pregnancy glow people talk about, been so uncomfortable, 😩 let put it this way I am ready not to be pregnant anymore lol! I miss being light and active, now I just feel like a massive whale! How's yours been? And has it been different to your first pregnancy ?

OP posts:
NewMummy29 · 12/01/2018 13:01

@Lurch87 ahh bless you! I really hope baby is ready to come out very soon! Have you tried doing things that can help bring labour? E.g lots of walking and apparently lots of sex... eat some pineapple?

37+3 today and she scared me shitless when I first woke up this morning. Bump was rock hard and she was completely still and unresponsive to nudges. DH came up with tea to find a panicky teary mess. It didn't help that she had a quiet day yesterday and is normally very active.

Anyway he then bought up some Ben and Jerrys (Ice cream for breakfast!!Smile) and slowly someone woke up, and is now doing her normal thing of nudges rolls and shifts in between some BH style tightenings. Everything is still very high up, my sternum is bruised to high buggery.

I think I'm going to be a nervous wreck by the time birth actually comes around, sooner rather than later I hope. I really really do not want an induction!!
