Hey mummies!!

I am not sure if there is a thread for January 2018 babies already.... but I can't find one!
Due date 21st Jan but feel like I am going to pop anytime soon, currently 38 weeks and 3 days with first baby... really excited, extremely terrified of birth, lots of anxiety but I can't wait to not be pregnant anymore and meet my baby! Still have no idea what I am having but makes it so exciting.

Anyone else also terrified of giving birth? Was really tempted to ask for a c-section but baby is in great birthing position so didn't have the heart to ask!

Would love to hear some positive stories and would love to know am not the only one shitting myself!!

@YouBetterWORK same boat! Woke up this morning and feel the movement has reduced since yesterday so just going to keep an eye on the movement today... aww ice cream did it for her then! How sweet 😍

You are not the only one... even though I am shit scared of giving birth I don't think I can last another 2/3 weeks!! So uncomfortable and tired now!

@Lurch87 hope your baby makes an arrival soon! @NewMummy29 I've been very lucky with pregnancy, the worst part just being heartburn (which seems 100 times worse now!) I know we shouldn't wish time away but I'm also definitely looking forward to feeling less 'whale' 😂 I do find myself googling/netmumming everything about pregnancy and birth!

NewMummy29 · 12/01/2018 15:31

@vjp25 glad I am not the only one lol! All I do is google my week and see what comes up😩 am off work now and hubby leaves for work every morning, so I spend my day in bed watching crap daytime TV lol

@NewMummy29 definitely enjoy the laying in bed watching crap tv! I know it seems boring now but u will never get that back lol! I wish I appreciated it more in the first pregnancy 😊 once you already have kids they don't seem to understand the whole 'get lots of rest in pregnancy' 😂

NewMummy29 · 12/01/2018 19:17

@vjp25 haha aww bless you! But I bet you wouldn't change it for anything! I can't wait for baby to be here so I have someone to be busy with lol hate sitting down doing nothing!

@NewMummy29 definitely wouldn't have it any other way, being a mummy is the best! ❤️

NewMummy29 · 12/01/2018 21:47

@vjp25 can't wait to experience that 😍

I had my little boy on his due date, the 4th Jan!

Period pains started the night before and had ramped up enough for me to realise they were contractions by 11pm. I had baths and showers to help along with a hot water bottle. By 3:30am things were getting more intense so I rang maternity ward. I told them I'd probs be in within a few hours. Rang my dad at 5am to come and sit with the toddler. Decided to go in when contractions were every 3-4 mins. Got checked and was 4cm dilated at 8:30am. I was in the birthing pool by 9:30am and was breathing through contractions with dh rubbing my back. I asked for gas and air around 11am and it really helped focus my breathing. I then felt the urge to push and thought I was having a poo. Midwife informed me it was baby moving down 4he birth canal and told me to go with my body! My son was born at 11:25am in the water and I'd judy had gas and air! It was so calm giving birth in the pool, much quicker and easier than my first sons Labour! We were home that night!

Good luck everyone, trust in your bodies and focus on your breathing!

Hi, I was due on 14th so I'm eagerly awaiting my LB's arrival. Glad to have found this thread! Hoping to hypnobirth in hospital if I can. Can't wait to meet our son (I'm a FTM) but it's driving me crazy not knowing when it will happen! Feeling well apart from zero sleep. Hope you are all doing ok. Lovely to hear positive birth stories! Usually it's all the scary stuff people want to tell you!

xoguineas · 16/01/2018 06:14

I've been up since 4 with awful back pains and cramps, not sure if this is the start of labour but it hurts like hell Sad

vjp25 · 16/01/2018 15:11

Congratulation @Mammyloveswine sounds like a lovely birth (as lovely as it can be!)

vjp25 · 16/01/2018 15:12

@SJP3 @xoguineas any news on you babas?? Smile

xoguineas · 16/01/2018 15:23

@vjp25 no news, think it was another false alarm or else i'm just in really slow labour Sad

vjp25 · 16/01/2018 15:32

@xoguineas when are u due? How are the back cramps now? I've had back cramps on 3 different occasions with this one and always hope lol! With my first baby the first time I had back cramps it was Labour!

SJP3 · 16/01/2018 15:57

Nothing happening with me apart from Braxton Hicks. Been in ikea (deep joy) most of the morning and was hoping my waters might go in there for the birth story! That would be one to remember! But sadly still intact...

vjp25 · 16/01/2018 18:11

@SJP3 that would have been a good birth story! I only went 2 days over with my DD so I'm dreading going over with this one, it must be so frustrating! Do u have any signs at all? X

xoguineas · 16/01/2018 18:54

@vjp25 due on Thurs, what about you? They weren't as bad earlier but are getting pretty achey again. Feels like a muscle/period kind of ache in my lower back and sides - not sure what labour feels like so don't wanna get hopeful again!

cheshiremama89 · 16/01/2018 19:38

@Mammyloveswine what a perfect birth! I hope mine is similar!

Due my first on the 25th! And we're expecting a little boy!

I had 2 painful contractions this morning (I think they were the real thing) and then nada all day! Anyone else had experience of this?

No other signs at all xx

vjp25 · 16/01/2018 20:23

@xoguineas I'm due Friday! With my first I only laboured in my back as she was back to back had no pain what so ever in my tummy! I told everyone who asked that nothing was happening just had backache when it was actually labour and I didn't know to begin with! It's so annoying not knowing at the time if it may be BH or early labour! I hope you're not waiting too long x

vjp25 · 18/01/2018 09:56

Any babies arrived yet? Smile

Fedupwaiting85 · 18/01/2018 13:17

Due 29th Jan and as the name suggests I’m so fed up and bored waiting!! Been finished work a week now and spend most of my days in bed drifting in and out of sleep that I don’t get at night! No sign of this baby wanting to arrive anytime soon! Feels like I’ve pregnant forever, dread the thought of labour but actually just want it started now!x

vjp25 · 18/01/2018 14:15

Bless you @Fedupwaiting85 baby will soon be here and you won't remember life before! I know what you mean I've felt like my pregnancys flown by until a few weeks ago when your almost at the finish line....now I feel like I've been waiting forever! 😂

Sarahrose21 · 18/01/2018 15:26

41 weeks today and still no sign, had 2 cervical exams and nada
Cervix is high and closed
Induction booked for Tuesday

cheshiremama89 · 18/01/2018 16:37

Not a sausage!
I want a sign!

Got a sweep booked for next Wednesday when I'll be 39+6 xx

SJP3 · 18/01/2018 19:02

@vjp25 I started to lose my plug a few days ago but apart from the odd contraction (I think) and BH, nothing. Saw the midwife yesterday and she's chilled which made me feel better.

@cheshiremama89 I've had the contractions, then nothing thing too. Very frustrating!

About to eat yet another curry for supper!
