Any pains worse than childbirth?

Wondering if anyone who has given birth feel they have experienced pain that is worse than the pain of child birth?

Yes, I had a twisted ovary. The worst pain I have ever been in. It was before I had children and as every said childbirth is the worst pain I expected it to be worse than the ovary. It wasn't, not by a long way

I found the pain of an infected wisdom tooth of a worse type. It was just so relentless.

Colonoscopy without sedative or pain relief. I think with that its was the unexpectedness if it. Just random unexpected pain every now and then over 40min or so. Labour I was expecting to hurt and it somes in waves so you can prepare yourself and feel it easing off.
I've had to straight forward 'easy' labours and two of the colonoscopies. I'm not in a hurry to repeat either.
Should say though I'd had previous colonoscopies in the UK, sedative and pain relief worked fine and they were fine so don't worry if you have one coming up.

Tooth pain. Firstly the filling had eaten through the bottom of the tooth and was pressing on the nerves, then after having the tooth extracted dry socket. Both just relentless and awful.

The bit I never realised is that in labour you get a break between contractions. All other serious pain has been constant for me so labour is just different. It's worth it no matter how much pain so just breath breath breath and you will be fine

I honestly did not consider labour to be the worst pain ever and I remember thinking that even in the midst of it. It wasn't pleasant but, as winchester says, you can prepare yourself for it coming in waves and fading and there is a point to it - you get a baby! I didn't experience the ring of fire either times. I do remember feeling pretty icky with number 2 - hot and sick and stuff and I think that was during transition and it was all happening very quickly.

I was kicked in the eye and passed out from the pain - that was pretty nasty.
I remember having some really bad period pains one time in my twenties where I had to go home and on the way to the tube station, I had to sit down to breathe through them. I think that was worse than labour!

I'd actually rather give birth than have a cannula put in my hand, I HATE them.

Gall bladder here too. At least l knew what was happening in childbirth and was prepared for the worst but nothing prepared me for that.l was also in hospital surrounded by nurses in labour knowing l could yell for an epidural. The gall bladder was at home with no painkillers.

Unfortunately involved in a head on motorway crash with multiple injuries. I remember thinking "this is about twice as bad as childbirth" quite calmly and rationally.

I had no pain relief because my labour was so fast (bastards wouldn't even give me gas and air!) and got up to pushing feeling like, yes it hurt but it was manageable. Then Ds heart beat dropped and I had to have episiotomy and kelloid forceps - did I mention no pain relief?! It felt like going from a 8/10 on the pain scale to being unable to stop screaming and being a good 15/10 off the scale. So normal child birth I agree with, the whole shoving a set of cutlery up your fanny after being cut down to your arse with I'd put in a different category though

My dislocated knee and ruptured ACL was worse than childbirth - it still makes me feel physically sick when I think about it now several years later.

Trigeminal neuralgia here. Definintely far worse than either of my labours. AND normal pain killers don't have any effect on it.

Definitely tooth pain - abcess in particular. Childbirth was a different kind of pain to me not the agonising pain of a kidney infection or a broken leg (I've had both).

An infected wisdom tooth. It put pressure on the nerve and my whole head was agony. Much worse than childbirth.

Perforated appendix leading to peritonitis. I have had 3 kids and my labours were agonising but that pain was off the scale. Morphine didn't even touch it. When I saw the consultant surgeon who operated on me the next day on his ward round he told me that it was the worst gangrenous appendix he had ever seen. My abdomen had been full of pus (gross). I had put up with over 24hrs of worsening pain, convincing myself it was just really bad irritable bowel. When I couldn't move or cough I finally asked dh to take me to a+e.
The worst of it is I am a Dr and I was actually really stupid not to have gone to a+e sooner.

Burst ovarian cyst, bone pain from ear infection in skull and broken leg all easily worse than childbirth. At least with childbirth you know it's a natural process.

Torn rotator cuff (shoulder injury). Worst pain I've experienced.

Disclaimer: my one go at childbirth to date was 3 hours and straightforward.

i slammed my thumb in the door ofm y big heavy 4x4 and had to open the door to get it out....the nail was completely broken across the bottom of the nail bed and it was bleeding very dark blood....the pain was beyond horrendous....and lasted and lasted....ive had 3 dc and one was a 10lb 8 bruiser, and for some childbirth IS very painful but its not for long and theres something wonderful at the end if you see what i mean!

I found after-pains (second time round) SO much worse than the birth. They brought me almost to the point of tears and I was taking ibu/paracetamol like clockwork.

First birth hurt more, but not as much as migraine or a kidney infection.

I fell down the stairs when pregnant with DS and have since found out I broke my coccyx. That was the most agonising pain I've ever experienced and still now daily it hurts. Sometimes if I catch it wrong it still can make me cry with the unexpected pain.

Labour comes and goes, when you're in the moment, it's like it's not happening. That was my experience of it. It wasn't horrendous pain in my case, just 40 hours of getting nowhere. I think I could handle a short labour fairly easily.
