Congratulations matildascat Flowers
The only thing curry did for me was worst heart burn ever.
Still no obvious sign this baby may make an appearance imminently just general odd cramps, mucus shows, and back/pelvis pain but had that for weeks Confused.
Absolutely knackered as sleeping so badly had bath at 2am?! Away for a siesta.

PastaandCheese · 09/03/2014 16:38

Well done matildascat that's great news. ThanksThanksThanks

Fingers crossed for cacraig and onceipop. Really hope it is soon for you both.

frogslegs35 · 09/03/2014 20:55

Congrats matildascat Thanks well done !

Wishing the rest of the ladies immediate labours xx

Hello! New to thread. 40 + 3, D&V since 6 am this morning (not a sign of things starting, caught from DD aged 5). Eased off now thankfully, but still no sign of labour! Don't think anything's going to get this baby moving...

Wine for those whose babies have arrived (just a small one!) and Thanks to those still waiting...

Cacraig2 · 09/03/2014 23:46

Hello waiting I am 40+3 too it's the pits as it is without d&v! Hope you feel better soon or it at least triggers labour!

apprenticemamma · 10/03/2014 00:40

congrats and to update you, our beautiful baby girl ( still to be named, Aoife or Niamh) arrived on Friday her edd! After I posted at 8.45 contrractions slowly mildly continued every 15 mins then BAM at 4 am every 3-5 mins, straight to hospital by 5 am, only time for gas and air and only from 6am (delayed due to assessment) and at 7am she arrived!

As mentioned else where those earlier back pains and slow build up contractions pay offSmile Smile Smile .

Top tips for me were to combine resting/snoozing and bouncing on a ball to bring the contractions on.

Wishing everyone all the best :)

frogslegs35 · 10/03/2014 01:44

Congrats apprentice, well done Thanks

onceipopicantstop · 10/03/2014 09:39

No news here, despite lots of bouncing on the ball. Felt very emotional last night - partly frustration and discomfort, and partly a sudden panic about how I'm going to cope with two dcs!! Was thinking dh and I won't have many more evenings to ourselves with dc1 in bed at 7!! A little too late to be having these thoughts as there's no going back now Grin!

onceipopicantstop · 10/03/2014 09:40

Oh and congratulations apprentice

PastaandCheese · 10/03/2014 16:06

Congratulations apprentice. ThanksThanksThanksThanks well done you!

onceipop I figure if I managed to convince one child to go to bed each night at 7 I will convince another in time!

Cacraig2 · 10/03/2014 21:00

Bath and bump massage with clary save oil, 3rd cup raspberry leaf tea brueing. Bounced about on gym ball and been for 2 walks, cleaned house and had a siesta. (Dc1 been at nursery!). About to watch one born every minute as likely closest I will get to labour tonight Wink

onceipopicantstop · 11/03/2014 08:07

Any progress cacraig? Nothing happening here. Have appt with mw tomorrow as 41 weeks and will probably have a sweep. One way or another this baby will be out in the next week or so!

Cacraig2 · 11/03/2014 08:43

Hi oncipop no absolutely nothing weepy again this morning waking up with no baby. I am 41 weeks on Thursday and have hospital post date appointment when I also hope they will do a sweep. I am sick of trying every old wives tale under the sun I can safely say that nothing works to bring on labour.

Waitingandhoping · 11/03/2014 09:14

Hang in there cacraig, I'm in the same boat, fingers crossed for both of us that a sweep will do the trick!

I feel a bit stupid that I've spent so much time sorting out the baby's room, planning for labour, etc but didn't mentally prepare myself for the hardest bit - this post-due-date waiting. I really believed that this baby would be quicker and earlier. Wishful thinking!

Hope tomorrow goes well onceipop and has the desired result!

Congratulations apprentice - brilliant news Thanks

onceipopicantstop · 11/03/2014 10:22

Glad it's not just me feeling all emotional about it! It just feels like it is never going to happen! In a week I will be complaining about sleepless nights I expect!

Izzyalex · 11/03/2014 16:13

Not checked in for a while so massive congratulations to pasta and everyone who has now had their beautiful babies xxxx

Thanks

Enjoy! The fun starts here........

Cacraig2 · 12/03/2014 04:56

I am up with another night of insomnia -why? No bh no cramps nothing uterus now officially on strike. Not a sign of labour.
Feeling very weepy having a good cry and a hot chocolate in hope can go back to sleep. Couldn't even look at empty nursery on way down stairs.
Can not face another day pregnant never mind another week. Can't even think how will feel if sweep has no effect on Thursday. Anything for you oncipop?

Springbells · 12/03/2014 05:50

cacraig I'm with you on the insomnia, awake since 4. Hardest thing is thinking what if it all kicks off, I'm going to be knackered! Oh, and still being huge, of course! So uncomfortable and grumpy, and like everyone here 'running' around after a toddler is getting harder and harder! Second sweep today. Here's hoping... Hope the hot chocolate helped.

onceipopicantstop · 12/03/2014 10:01

Lets hope insomnia is a sign of impending labour as I had exactly the same problem last night. When I did drift off I dreamt I was was having contractions - was very disappointed when I woke up! Mw coming today so hopefully a sweep will get things started. Anyone know how long they'll leave us go before induction? I'm 39 and think I read somewhere that stillbirths are increased with post dates and higher maternal age.

Cacraig2 · 12/03/2014 13:57

I know what you mean springbells running after toddler hard work and feel guilty for being short tempered and 'no fun'.

I don't think they let you go over 42 weeks onceipop so you should have your date for admission and induction any day. Hope your second sweep works. Try not to think about worst case scenarios as sure percentage very low and you are still young.

Another gorgeous day went for walk along beach with dp and dd1 to cheer me up. Did the trick but so tired ready to sleep.

onceipopicantstop · 13/03/2014 09:52

Well some progress overnight but not sure if it will continue! Had a sweep at lunchtime and had cramps shortly afterwards. Since 3pmish started having regular tightenings with pain in my lower abdomen and back, and sometimes down below (sorry if tmi!) - I presume these are mild contractions rather than bh, and perhaps pain from cervix altering? Have continued overnight every 20 minutes or so - slept terribly! They are uncomfortable but not dreadful by any means and last 20-30 seconds. Only problem is they haven't increased in frequency or intensity despite having them for 18 hours now. Is this just very early labour?
Dh decided to stay off work as he works 1.5 hours away but I suspect he may have wasted a day off!!

Waitingandhoping · 13/03/2014 12:05

Sounds hopeful onceipop fingers crossed for you!

Had sweep this morning, induction booked for Sat if that doesn't work. Glad something's going to happen at last!

Cacraig2 · 13/03/2014 13:48

Hi ladies
Sounds promising onceipop might all just kick off and go really quickly. I had my sweep this morning and dtd as instructed. Blush Now bouncing on gym ball. Dd1 having sleep over at grannies tonight although that maybe bit hopeful.
That was good waiting my maternity unit couldn't fit me in for induction until Wednesday when I will be 41+6 Envy hopefully we will all go in next 24hours!

onceipopicantstop · 13/03/2014 14:09

Still progressing - 8 mins apart and more intense now, but shorter in length. TENS on - does that affect how long the pain lasts?? Think was just as well dh stayed home as I would have called him back by now!

Cacraig2 · 13/03/2014 14:38

Woo hoo how exciting onceipop I am so jealous Envy thank goodness dh there are you getting your bags ready for the off?
Not sure about tens I am counting on a good shot of pethadine to get me through! But remember everyone's contractions different so if you are progressing that quickly I wouldn't be hanging about unless you are planning a home birth Wink
Good luck Thanks Wine

I am feeling very crampy which coming at regular intervals doesn't feel like bh so fingers crossed I might be in your situation tomorrow
