Congratulations Izzy - sounds like you had a great experience! I'm so trying a clary sage belly rub tonight! X

frogslegs35 · 01/03/2014 18:10

Good luck with it Pass

PastaandCheese · 01/03/2014 19:10

Wow. Congratulations izzyalex ThanksThanksThanksThanks

That's wonderful news. Sounds like it went really well for you.

It's your DP's first isn't it? Hope he is recovering too!

I've got clary sage Radox..... Not sure that counts?? DD just gone to bed so now would be good. Off to scrub kitchen floors by hand AGAIN!

frogslegs35 · 01/03/2014 20:17

I've got clary sage Radox
it's got to be worth a try :)

Make sure you're crawling when washing those floors, my sis rather wasted her time washing hers as her waters went while doing it.
Apparently the mw told her the crawling position is good to get things moving, due to babies position and contact on the cervix.
I think she said she tried one day for 30 mins and felt some strong contractions that went away so she done it again the next day and it worked.
Again though I think baby has to be 'ready'.

Cacraig2 · 01/03/2014 21:55

Congratulations izzyalex that sounded a lovely birth experience (as they go!) and all the best with your addition to the family.

Away to buy some sage oil tomorrow and start rubbing x

PastaandCheese · 02/03/2014 06:08

Another day begins without a baby. And it began at 5.30 with a complaining 2 year old. What has she got to complain about??

Cacraig2 · 02/03/2014 18:03

This has been worst day yet! Dd seems determined to wind me up at every opportunity too it's as if they know we are at breaking point. Then feel so guilty not her fault I am knackered, depressed and physically unable to move and dressing either of us seems like an endurance event!! Especially as she fits watching lady and the trsmp in fairy costume waving her wand to do spell to get baby to come lol hopefully we all go tonight!!

PastaandCheese · 02/03/2014 22:25

I hope so cacraig. I've found today very hard too. DH went to work as he's so snowed under and DD had a stomach upset. Not the greatest day ever.

Cacraig2 · 02/03/2014 22:33

Good luck pastaandcheese here's hoping x

KatieChooChoo · 02/03/2014 23:06

Izzy Massive congratulations. Wishing you and your new bundle health and happiness.

Pasta im going to keep checking this thread till I can write something similar to you....... may be your dd complaining of a tummy upset is a sign of impending labour for you and shes having sympathetic pains for you ??? .............. or may be shes caught a tummy bug.

xx

PastaandCheese · 03/03/2014 06:47

I think you could be waiting a while Katie!

Can't believe I've gone later than I did the first time. Well, I can. Enough people on this thread have experienced the same but it is still very frustrating.

Hope your two little DSs are getting on great.

Cacraig2 · 03/03/2014 11:32

Well if symptom watching was anything to go by I am sure I would have had baby last night. Cramping abdominal pains which woke me 3x in night, back and pelvis pain, pressure and stabbing down below (don't know how waters didn't break!) and had to poo 3x in night also! Was sure it was my time grrr! 39 +4 today and terrified going to go past edd on Thursday. Dd1 at nursery today so shaved legs!, walked dog and cleaned house already this morning so anytime now would be good.
Any hope pasta? X

PastaandCheese · 03/03/2014 13:15

I had to read 'Mog The Forgetful Cat' from the loo as i couldn't leave it earlier.

Not sure that says anything other than I'm soft with my toddler and should start locking her out though?!

Fingers crossed for you cacraig. I just find it annoying how one day changes you to 'overdue' and randoms start asking when you'll be induced as though that is surely the next natural conclusion!

Cacraig2 · 03/03/2014 16:29

I know what you mean pasta it's not so much the going past the EDD it's the having to wait even longer when you are desperate to meet your new little one and stop the torture of being heavily pregnant. Maybe they should give us a date 2weeks later than their EDD so when we go prior to that it will seem a bonus. Stop us symptom spotting!

PastaandCheese · 04/03/2014 06:46

That's an idea cacraig. I'm getting a bit bitter now. I keep thinking at nearly a week over I've been heavily, heavily pregnant for nearly 6 weeks longer across both pregnancies than a woman who had her babies at 38 weeks.

It's a very sobering and depressing thought. Think I might have to give into a small weep today to indulge my self pity.

PassthePercyPigs · 04/03/2014 07:58

Hi all, still no news here and now my husband is panicking that he's not going to be able to take his full paternity leave as he has a big work project starting! Added pressure I don't need right now! I'm 40+5 now and given that my DD was induced and finally arrived at 42+1 I'm starting to feel pretty despondent that I'm going to have a repeat performance.

I had an hour and a half of regular contractions on Monday night but nothing since then and have got an acupuncture induction booked tomorrow and a sweep on Thursday. Between them I'm praying they'll get the baby moving!

Good luck all - it feels like forever but we are all nearly there x

Cacraig2 · 04/03/2014 15:44

I cried last night and this morning feel very emotional. No labour signs at all (not that I'm spotting pasta). Took dd swimming this morning and felt better but feel awful this afternoon so tired and shaky ??. Dp picked up dd from her nursery session this afternoon and she had a melt down that it wasn't me ah the guilt starts already.

PastaandCheese · 04/03/2014 16:47

How was the acupuncture percy? I chose reflexology as it seemed more relaxing but wondering if acupuncture may be worth a go?

caccraig I had a good cry last night about how unfair it all is. DH was spectacularly unhelpful when he pointed out how much worse some people have it. I know he is right but I rather think the point is how many people have had their babies by this point!

I've found today ok because my DD has been in nursery. I do not know how I will get through tomorrow with her here. I'm fit to burst and just generally 'in pain' albeit the wrong sort of pain.

I just don't think I am going to go into labour now. Even though I have a week to go before a potential induction date I am just starting to feel that is the direction I am heading in. I was home and receiving all my visitors by this point with DD.

MatildasCat · 04/03/2014 21:03

Can I join the fun despair of waiting?

I had DD at 39 weeks. It was my due date yesterday and I'm starting to get a wee bit anxious.

I'm trying to remain positive and enjoy some special time with DD (2 years old) before she has a rival for my attention. But one of my friends has texted every day this week asking if there are "any signs"......argh!!!! She's actually pregnant with her first baby so I know she's just excited but it's doing my head in!

PastaandCheese · 04/03/2014 22:22

Hello Matildascat. The two due dates (the date you had your first and the due date) is rubbish isn't it? I can entirely sympathise.

As for 'any signs' I flit between intense rage at the sender and an acknowledgement I am lucky to have friends who care.

PassthePercyPigs · 04/03/2014 23:19

Welcome matildascat! The 'any signs / twinges / movement?' Texts are driving me insane as well. Lovely to be remembered but at the same time at do they want; a text when we lose our mucus plug?!

The acupuncture was actually surprisingly relaxing pasta (once the needles were in!) After the first session I had strong braxton hicks all evening. Second session didn't seem to have much of an effect but I've got a hardcore induction session while DD is in nursery tomorrow. Hoping that combined with the sweep on Thursday I might have some luck over the weekend.

My midwife friend came over this evening to listen to the baby's heartbeat and she said it seems very happy and relaxed and its actually helped me to chill out too. Whatever happens I'll have a baby by next weekend and in the great scheme of things that's not too far off. The thing I'm finding really challenging is keeping up with my 3 yr old DD - I feel she's really playing up at the moment and I just do not have the patience!

Fattyfirsttime · 05/03/2014 08:39

I have been holding off joining in this chat in the eternal hope that baby would show up, but it hasnt. First baby came at 37 weeks, now 39 + 4 with number 2 so feel like he/she should be here by now!

Yonineedaminute · 05/03/2014 09:32

Am joining this thread! Am now 41+1 which is when ds arrived. Had a second sweep yesterday and thought things were kicking off last night. Braxton hicks actually became painful and I had a bit more of a 'show' as well. Was then awake most of the night with quite painful contractions although really irregular and they were all in my back. This is how my last labour started (and 3 days later ds was born) so was a bit disappointed that it was so similar as it was a long haul, but was glad something was happening - started planning what to do with ds in the morning, dh with work etc.

Took a couple of paracetamol, tried to get some sleep at about 5 and........ This morning - nothing. Everything has completely stopped Sad so now I am just knackered with nothing to show for it and a 2 year old to look after all day. It doesn't help that I am still not fully over a cold I have had forever, so have got a blocked ear and remnants of a sore throat as well. Am so miserable.

I also keep getting the 'any signs' texts and feel like being really rude in my reply but of course I won't!

I also keep getting the rage when I think about all the people who told me that 2nd babies often come earlier and really quickly etc. I worked until 38 and a half weeks so had to hear this quite a lot in my last few weeks at work. They do NOT jeffing come early or quickly!!!!!!!

Sorry about the essay - it is nice to know I am not alone though!

PastaandCheese · 05/03/2014 09:48

yonineedaminute you are most definitely not alone. 41 weeks here. DD born at 40+3.

Strong contractions from 7pm (DD's bedtime) every 5 minutes but only lasting 40 seconds. Died off so I went to bed.

Woke at 3am with even stronger contractions lasting 1min 20 but only every 12 minutes or so. Carried on until 6.30am by which point I'd showered, dressed and eaten something in the stupid belief that they would get closer and I'd be on my way.

They were definitely contractions. Very painful with peaks.

Nothing from the moment my 2 year old woke. Confused I would say 'I could cry' but I've already done that this morning. DH stayed home for a bit and I've walked round the village to no avail. He's gone to work now and DD is watching CBeebies.

What a pair we are?! I'm also knackered and despairing that this has already gone on longer than my first labour albeit stop start.

PastaandCheese · 05/03/2014 09:51

I forgot..... Also losing blood stained mucus at a rapid rate. I was hours away from giving birth when that happened with my first.

When will it ever end?
