Did you have any signs leading up to labour 2nd time round and if so what?

Final thought..... Yes, this does mean my no symptom spotting resolution is over. It did me no good in the end like everything else I've tried

Yonineedaminute · 05/03/2014 10:24

Oh pasta am rooting for you, we sound so similar! Also watching cebeebies here......

Springbells · 05/03/2014 11:11

Hello everyone, I'm still here too. Been popping the raspberry leaf tea capsules and, ahem, other triggers but no luck. Sweep today so keeping most parts of my body crossed it might do something!

pasta all sounds really promising, although in our state of mind probably not what you want to hear, hopes up and down all the time at the moment!

PastaandCheese · 05/03/2014 11:18

Really hope these sweeps work springbells and yoni. Got one tomorrow as they won't sweep until 41 weeks here apart from first baby. I'm sure it helped last time.

Obviously I hope not to make tomorrow but who knows? Trying to believe that a stop start labour means it will be quick when it gets to a point where it doesn't stop? Having said that I believed this baby would be earlier than the last!

frogslegs35 · 05/03/2014 11:59

Still quietly watching you all, keeping my fx and willing your babies to make an appearance.

Good luck with the sweeps Xx

onceipopicantstop · 05/03/2014 14:24

Hi can I join in? 40 weeks today and.....nothing! Occasional back pain and bh but have had these for weeks. Dc1 arrived at 40+9 so probably being optimistic that this one will be on time but still keeping fingers crossed! !

MatildasCat · 05/03/2014 15:15

Thanks for the welcome.

How frustrating for those of you being teased by contractions but hopefully that means you're gearing up for the main event. A few friends have had stop/start labours with number 2.

PastaandCheese · 05/03/2014 15:41

Starting again here. Only every 10 minutes but dear me, they are painful and quite long lasting. Surely this is doing something?

This is just torture. My DD was normal - contractions, get worse, give birth. I'd have had her twice in the window i've been stopping and starting this time. Surely this is a boy with all this messing about?

Surely this can't stop again?

PastaandCheese · 05/03/2014 15:43

Hello onceipop I really hope this one is a bit earlier for you.

KoalaFace · 05/03/2014 16:15

Hey everyone! Just wanted to check in and see how you are all feeling! Congrats to everyone who has had their LO!

DD is 2 weeks old today and as I was remembering how fed up I was at the end I thought "I wonder how Pasta and the others are getting on?"

I'm keeping everything crossed for you Pasta that your super speedy birth is imminent!

onceipopicantstop · 05/03/2014 16:42

Hi Pasta sounds like things might be starting up again - hope it keeps going for you this time.
Have just crawled around the playroom tidying up in the hope it might start something off, and planning an evening bouncing on the gym ball!! Possibly whilst consuming pineapple!

PassthePercyPigs · 05/03/2014 16:42

Pasta it sounds like things are rely moving for you - I've not ad anything so encouraging. I've got a sweep tomorrow as I'll be 41 weeks - praying that does something! Oh, and got electrocuted during my acupuncture session this afternoon which was lovely and relaxing. Honestly, talk about desperate measures!

Springbells · 05/03/2014 18:54

Hmph. Fed up here. Niggling all day, short sharp pains short gaps BUT don't seem to be getting anywhere. Just uncomfortable enough to be tiring and not let me sleep! Know how you feel pasta, last time was absolutely no question was in labour, this stop start is doing my head in! Wish I knew if this was it or not! Ok, moan over...

Positive vibes to all those bouncing..

Cacraig2 · 05/03/2014 19:03

Goodness so many of you sound nearly there! Good luck to you all. Envy 40weeks tomorrow and seeing that date circled and no sign of baby finding very depressing. I am not known for my patience at best of times. Don't know why they say second babies earlier dd was 40+3 so I should have been more prepared for the waiting game.
Parents were going to visit baby at weekend as don't live local but will have to delay their visit at this rate!

apprenticemamma · 05/03/2014 23:17

Hi there can I waddle in and join you lot? edd friday ..7th march. Ds appeared the day before his edd so like everyone else in here I fully expect dd to have the same pattern.

Nothing to report other than minor sore lower back and under bump twinges and increasing desperation. Going to sleep in the hope of waking up in a pool of amniotic fluid, as u do!

Good luck everyone x

KatieChooChoo · 06/03/2014 04:34

still here watching the thread pasta and sending labour vibes.
At your stage you've now gone beyond dis-pear, you're so uncomfortable and frustrated with everyone (including yourself).

BUT............ in just a few weeks you'll be wide awake at stupid o'clock from a night feed, with all the frustration of being over due well and truly behind you. Im selfishly enjoying these night feeds, i get undisturbed 1 on 1 time with ds2. The romance of night feeds will be probably change next week once dp returns to work and ive a giddy 2 year old ds1 to deal with Confused

Labour vibes to everyone xx

PastaandCheese · 06/03/2014 06:24

How are you doing springbells? Any movement over night?

cacraig I really hope your baby arrives soon and before 40+3 but I think you're wise to give some thought to going later. I didn't really contemplate it so it was a bit of a shock when it happened.

Hello apprentice how are you doing today?

I'm not doing so good here. 6 hours of very painful contractions and it's stopped again. I got to every 5 minutes and lasting well over 1 minute. Spoke to hospital, all set to come in and then all of a sudden went to every 8 minutes, then every 10 and then nothing.

I don't know what I am going to do aside from ask the local vet to put me down. The midwife on the phone was very kind and said it is very common and it will come back but the thing is I was in agony. If that isn't established labour I just don't know how I will cope.

I didn't even want to post because I feel like a fraud.

I'm just ill prepared for this and two nights of contracting has left me feeling like a wrung out dish rag.

DH is staying home today and we're sending DD to nursery. The hospital were adamant I'm getting somewhere albeit not as quickly as I'd like. Sad

Springbells · 06/03/2014 07:06

pasta you made me smile with your vet comment! All good last night, bloody show, then went to bed wholly expecting all to continue and.... Nothing. Except wide awake since 2am. Now knackered and vary between wanting to cry and being extremely grumpy about the whole thing! And I know I'm being irrational and there is only one conclusion! hope we all have easy births after all this prep!

Cacraig2 · 06/03/2014 07:12

Sleepless night despite no labour symptoms grrrr yup 40weeks arrived today and as I should have expected absolutely no sign of dc2. Dd going to her grannies today so plan to lie on couch and watch favourite films all day.

Pasta I can not even imagine (yet) what you are going through sounds horrendous hope you get some rest/sleep today then deliver quickly later on today xx

Hi apprentice fingers crossed for you too hopefully we can all be like katiechoochoo by Friday x

KoalaFace · 06/03/2014 07:36

Chin up Pasta I had painful contractions come and go for days and then an 8 minute active labour with 2 pushes. All those contractions will be getting you closer, its not for nothing! I know you'll be sick to your back teeth of symptom spotting but be very aware of what's going on with your body, after such a long, slow labour it might happen very fast. How far away is the delivery suite?

Katie I'm so scared about how I'll cope when DH goes back to work! Having him here is the only reason 3 year old DS isn't furious that I spend so much time breastfeeding!

PastaandCheese · 06/03/2014 07:36

cacraig I think you will need chocolate to go with those films? It's the law when you're heavily pregnant.

springbells I have had a lot of blood stained mucus so I just try to cling to the fact it is happening and this will end at some point.

I'm planning to see midwife, complain a lot about this reluctant child and then go to sleep for the afternoon. Obviously I'll have another couple of hours of pointless contractions that will end that plan. Confused

Fattyfirsttime · 06/03/2014 08:46

Morning everyone! I am going to try and have a day of no symptom spotting and not eating any crap. Off for a walk soon, it wont be a long one though due to the necessity for a toilet break every five minutes. Hoping this may encourage baby to come....

apprenticemamma · 06/03/2014 10:09

morning all , pasta pmsl with your vet comment !!! cacraig that wld be awesome. .

Still having back pains though have eased but coming and going. Nothing as exciting as a contraction though although never had bh before anywah.

Feeling v emosh also as someone else mentioned though that's been a long standing prego thing!

Half asleep watching tv with ds. Walk and pineapple later...

Izzyalex · 06/03/2014 12:40

Thank you so much for all your best wishes, sorry I haven't checked in all week to see how you're getting on.

pasta stay strong, you'll get there and it will be so worth it.
Welcome to all the newbies too, sending everyone speedy labour vibes and positivity and strength.

Like katie I want to hang around a little to hear pasta has delivered!

See you on the other side........

Xx

frogslegs35 · 06/03/2014 13:17

Pasta - it definitely sounds like you're close. I know it's not much consolation to you but all of these contractions will be doing something.
With ds3 I'd had similar and when I went in for my induction I was already just over 3 cms dilated.

Good luck ladies, hope all of your labours are iminent.
