Hello
I'm 39+4 with first baby and am poised waiting for labour to kick in any time this week or next week. Just wondered if anyone else was foot taping waiting for their bundle of joy to fill the crib?!! Confused
Also any thoughts on whether swimming still ok?! Am trying to keep busy but would hate for waters to break in a public pool Shock

Thanks for the advice ladies! Think I will try and get doctors appt for tom, I have been using 1% hydrocortisone that I bought from the chemist but sounds like something stronger might help a bit! Im all for the Bum Support Thread afterwards! Grin

LLL Good luck tomorrow, hope you get a decent nights sleep.
Nar and Cupcake Hope things are getting moving!
Can't remember who was having cramps now and on phone so can't scroll back but good luck - hope it progresses!

As inspiration a lady on an ante-natal thread Im on gave birth today at 39 weeks. Contractions started at 7am, baby born by 9.30 Shock No messing, amazing! Grin Im hoping to have the same experience myself!

I think my waters leaked about earlier.

Just in bed now trying to get some sleep just in case though the cramps are dying down.

Probably a false alarm, seeing the MW tomorrow anyway.

I'm having really painful short contractions but got sent home from hospital! Argh. Not slept and no chance of sleeping.

What did they say at the hospital?

Sorry your sweep didn't work Lime and although an induction is disappointing I have to admit still feeling rather jealous you are going in today. Hope all goes well and looking forward to the birth announcement.

How are you Cupcake? Don't feel too disappointed. All my labours stayed at 2cm for most of the time and didn't seem to progress, other than get more painful, then suddenly I fully dilate and need to push. Maybe you are just doing the same. Either way I hope you now have your baby and will let us know when you can.

Congratulations to count and cupcake! Lovely news! Grin

Saw the doc today about Percy and friends - she was very sympathetic but didn't prescribe me anything new, she just told me to continue with the 1% hydrocortisone Sad I thought Id pooed myself during the night but turns out it was another sibling for Percy squeezing out! Shock I forgot how glamorous this pregnancy lark is!! Grin

Me too!! I'm 38.3 weeks with 2nd child and getting very fed up. Had a few aches and pains (but have bad pelvic girdle pain so hard to know what's what). Seeing midwife on wed and think I will ask for a sweep on due date if nothing happens before then, I went 6 days over with 1st and it felt like a very long time!

Got a blinking horrid cold too, grrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Sorry! Yes had a little boy Friday morning. It was all a bit hairy they told me I was being a wuss at 5.30 am and sent me home. I stayed at home as long as I could bear it, went back in at 8.50 and he was born 6 mins later. I barely had time to get in.

Not what I expected!

I have looked today, Barry is there but without the pressure he is not hurting at all , unless its just number by all the palaver!

Congratulations I'mgoing and Cupcake, wonderful news!

Glad you are feeling better Pickled, Barries are the worst aren't they.

I should probably join you all - am 40+9 with my first DC and feeling very impatient!

After a week of cramps on and off and 3 sweeps, at the last of which on Friday the MW said I am 3cm dilated with bulging membranes and a mid and soft but still quite thick cervix (scan said 1.5cm) I was left feeling pretty fed up so spent today doing bouncing on the ball (uh a stupid 3 hours), sex, consuming a great deal of pineapple and going for a waddle walk.  I have felt nothing all day and am now having waves of cramps and contractions - but it is hard to differentiate between the two.
They are regular but not like clockwork - approx 4 an hour.

There are distinct contractions but between them there are still cramps - the discomfort and tightness dials down but doesn't disappear so am a bit confused.

Have had bloody show(s) all week but that's normal after a sweep I believe... Waters not broken yet!

Both contractions and cramps are uncomfortable and definitely slightly painful but not as bad as I had anticipated nor getting worse - so assume it is some sort of pre-labour and I just need to be patient a while longer!?

Pickled That's great news, congratulations! Thanks Grin And glad to hear that Barry is behaving too! Wink Can't believe how close you were to delivering at home/in the car - that really was cutting it fine!

Ribbon Sounds to me like things are gearing up, im sure it won't be long now!

Im excited about having my first sweep tomorrow [saddo emotion] I so hope it does something useful! Im spending most of the weekend batch cooking so the freezer is full of home cooked food ready for when little one puts in an appearance!
