Not sure how long I'll manage to keep posting but always fancied a go at a live labour thread :)

Brief history:

  • DS1 HB (19hrs + 2 hrs for the placenta) at 38+1
  • DS2 EMCS for undiagnosed breech at 39+6
  • this is DC3 (a surprise) and I'm 40+3.

Been going slightly spare since I've never been this pg before so I'm quite happy that things are finally moving.

Mucus plug yesterday & this morning, bit of bloody show this lunchtime.
Ctx now every 10ish mins or so.

Waters not gone, yet so am hovering over a towel in case :)

Not phoned MW yet, guess I should at some point?

Anyone want to keep me company? :)

Great! I wouldn't worry about your waters breaking, ideally they dont break until you are nearly fully dilated. I would just put a pad on in your knickers and carry on as normal. Have you put your tens on? A nice walk in the sunshine maybe.
Good luck!
S x

GoHelpMeSod · 20/04/2011 14:35

oooo, go you!

Good luck, cheering you on.

What names are you thinking off?

JustKeepSwimming · 20/04/2011 14:41

George or Mary :)

Well waters broke right at the start with DS1, never broke with DS2 though I could feel them bulging and it wasn't pleasant.

HBAC CMW plan not quite working out, my MW not on duty, the 2nd number MW also not on duty...will ring 3rd number in a mo.

Not got a tens, tested one when pg with DS1 and didn't like it, mostly lots of swaying & puffing :)

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 20/04/2011 14:57

Marks place, hope all goes well for you :)

nickelbaalamb · 20/04/2011 14:58

keep trying - someone will be ready - if not, you can always ring the maternity dept and ask them who is on duty, and for them to send someone.
sounds like you've still got a while to go, thoguh, so don't panic! Grin

mustdash · 20/04/2011 15:00

Yay Grin

MrsWajs · 20/04/2011 15:05

Another April supporter here :)

JustKeepSwimming · 20/04/2011 15:06

Worsel - lol, just got that :)

No luck with the CMW direct numbers, so phoned the community office, someone meant to be ringing me back.
They shut at 4 so need to give them a heads up/try and get a number of someone who is on duty really.

There are 'ishoos' with making sure i get a supportive of HBAC MW - nearly all of them are/should be but.... so don't ideally want to be ringing the hosp if at all possible.

nickelbaalamb · 20/04/2011 15:09

fair point.
although, they can't force you to go in....

NotShortImHotCrossBunSized · 20/04/2011 15:09

Ooh how exciting Grin

If you could just avoid giving birth between 5.30pm that would be fab. I have a driving lesson Wink

Hope you manage to get hold of MW number 3.

I'll have a little guess and say girl Grin

jammietart · 20/04/2011 15:10

Fingers crossed for your HBAC JKS. I went for one after DS (EMCS) but it didn't happen. Also hoping you get a supportive MW.

SecretNutellaFix · 20/04/2011 15:12
Smile

Everything is uncrossed for a smooth and uneventful HBAC.

architien · 20/04/2011 15:15

JKS you are managing to be an incredible inspiration to us ladies cheering you on, relax about which MW you get now, she'll only be in the background helping. You are the one doing this and YOU are doing brilliantly :)

Waves and sighs at Lis and MrsW from the Aprilonian's tea drinking bench. This'll be us soon enough eh?

TheOriginalFAB · 20/04/2011 15:16

I am sure there is a mumsnetter who could help if the midwife doesn't comde WinkGrin.
