Not sure how long I'll manage to keep posting but always fancied a go at a live labour thread :)

Brief history:

  • DS1 HB (19hrs + 2 hrs for the placenta) at 38+1
  • DS2 EMCS for undiagnosed breech at 39+6
  • this is DC3 (a surprise) and I'm 40+3.

Been going slightly spare since I've never been this pg before so I'm quite happy that things are finally moving.

Mucus plug yesterday & this morning, bit of bloody show this lunchtime.
Ctx now every 10ish mins or so.

Waters not gone, yet so am hovering over a towel in case :)

Not phoned MW yet, guess I should at some point?

Anyone want to keep me company? :)

Good luck JKS. I would love a labour thread for my DC3 due in July, but my labours are so quick I wouldn't have time to type much.

madmouse · 20/04/2011 16:55

Hope you're feeling ok - it sounds like things are speeding up. Don't wait too long with that pool - once your waters go you will probably be fully dilated as this is no3

Just had a 10min gap then a humongous ctx, ouch that hurt!

Not at all convinced by the orgasmic birth stories, lol!

am upstairs with pillows, towels, food & drink.

have a fairish amount of bleeding though, have a pad on but not sure how much to expect with a bloody show?

ouch, another one, puff puff!!

Great work JKS just let your body do it's thing. Very excited for you!

madmouse · 20/04/2011 17:23

JKS have you had contact with a MW yet?

JenAT · 20/04/2011 17:31

ohhh JKS how exciting! another April supporter here.

I am in midst of baby blues and weeping constantly, feeling very sorry for myself at total lack of sleep, so your news has actually really cheered me up. Will keep looking at thread, although there will come a time for you when posting updates is the last thing on your mind! Love the name George btw (our little 4 day old's name!) and Mary was also on our name list if we had, had a girl.

Keep swaying through those contractions, good luck your April family are all behind you Smile

JustKeepSwimming · 20/04/2011 17:32

Yes MM - spoke to one about 3ish? she was on the ideal list from my MW :)

She's on until 6/30 i think, then is replced by one who was here for DS1's HB until 9.30ish.

some nearer 5min gaps, then a 7mins gap, so things are hotting up but still not regular. have the phone number ready to ring soon.

you forget how painful this is!!
