The khyam indiana 8 is canvas but I really hate the colour- its the same as ours (costs mroe tho) other than that

Seriously fancy the Outwell Norfolk lake
even though its an outwell, thats canvas but SOOO expensive

PeachyChocolateEClair · 11/05/2007 19:55

My cath Kidston chair os gorgeous (Dh hated itr when i bought it, all candy striped, but its the only one to have survived the season, his sunncamp fell apart alst week LOL)

ThatBeetroot · 11/05/2007 19:55

moo - do you camp?

Blandmum · 11/05/2007 19:56

Yes I am!

marthamoo · 11/05/2007 19:57

I'm a rank amateur compared to the hard-core MN camping contingent but yes - we bought a Monty last year. Used to camp every year when I was a child though.

I'm a bit sad because I don't know if we're going to manage a trip this year - it's hard for dh to get weekends off atm.

PeachyChocolateEClair · 11/05/2007 19:57

MB you were the first person I thought of when I realised ours was 5000HH! I exclaimed 'Gosh MB would be proud' in the camping shop and Dh was seriosuly

filthymindedvixen · 11/05/2007 19:58

ah jeeez I hate all this trendy camping shit. means you are more likely to have al the campsites full of arsehols....muter mutter.

this is cath kidston tent yawn yawn...

marthamoo · 11/05/2007 19:58

At last, the jealous lady herself

dustystar · 11/05/2007 19:58

I knew you were here somewhere MP

I like the Norfolk Lake too but it is way too expensive.

No Moo you were iirc the insporation behind mnany tent threads that eventually led to the camping section on MN

You are MN camping royalty

marthamoo · 11/05/2007 19:59

I bought the wrong bloody tent though, didn't I ? The Monty is Tent Number Two.

dustystar · 11/05/2007 19:59

Yuck FMV that is nasty - although i probably would have gone for it as a festival going teen

PeachyChocolateEClair · 11/05/2007 19:59

The CK tents are shite I agree

PeachyChocolateEClair · 11/05/2007 20:01

I think most CK tent users are kids or festival goers tbh, they're usually pup tents ime

marthamoo · 11/05/2007 20:02

Quite glad we're not going camping this weekend though - it is absolutely tipping down and I've got the heating on, it's so cold.

dustystar · 11/05/2007 20:02

Eurovision is on too can't miss that

OP posts:
PeachyChocolateEClair · 11/05/2007 20:04

eurovision is fab with the subtitles on

We were saying earlier that this weather was a bit much even for us, then decided we'd go for it anyhow beauty of an outer first tent

beckybrastraps · 11/05/2007 20:07

Now you say it takes longer to put up, but we went camping with some friends last year and we were installed whilst their fancy pods were still flapping in the wind.

It does take up more room admittedly - it is huge when folded, but we take a trailer so it doesn't really bother us.

We do still have our little dome tent, which we take with us when we camp without the children to celebrate our anniversary (we know how to live it up in the Brastraps household I can tell you). We can be fully installed and off for dinner in 9 minutes. Yay!

PeachyChocolateEClair · 11/05/2007 20:08

we had a pod one last year, took ages- the tunnel is much faster!

Blandmum · 11/05/2007 20:09

I Love my tunnel tent. I can put it up on my own, in 30 minutes. Granted they are a frantic, sweaty 30 minues but still.......

Housemum · 11/05/2007 20:24

Took the Khyam Indiana out for its first outing last weekend - family camp with the Scouts. Was excellent - really easy to get up and down, cosy inside (we bought the Outwell self-inflating roll mats and we have a cosy flannelette lined double sleeping bag!) DD1 was in a scout tent with her mates, we had DD2 in with us as she's only 4, and SIL/BIL in the opposite end as it seemed daft for them to put their tent up as well when we had such a big one.

There was one Cath Kidston tent there - belonged to the 17/18 year old (male) explorer scout!

Great weekend - DD2 loved being able to get filthy playing in the woods, and I learned that I'm crap at archery but not bad with an air rifle so DH had better watch out...

PeachyChocolateEClair · 11/05/2007 20:28

sopunds good, it is easy to pitch isnt it?

We ahve a flannel line dbag too, only from Argos LOL but fab (I have raynaulds so need the warmth or I am miserable)

ThatBeetroot · 11/05/2007 20:30

I think I have a tunnel tent too

Not been oout for a couple of years but money is tight so might be doing some camping this year -

dustystar · 11/05/2007 20:31

The vermont looks quite easy but then we haven't tried it yet

Can't do links - but for lovers of tentporn there's nothing to beat stunningtents.com! We have a tentipi -it is the most fabulous thing you can imagine! (bought second hand, I hasten to add!)
