It seemed quite dark and cramped in the one went in at the garden centre (Sanders near Brean- stock taunton leisure). I was well up for it just felt very claustrophobic inside

Really, Peachy? What lights your fire then? We just love the space in the tipi, and the way it looks with a light inside it at night. We also like the fact that it take precisely 11 minutes to put up, 14 to take down and packs down into a bag that's easy to carry.

Thanks for doing the link, dustystar, I really must learn how to do it!

Took the Khyam Indiana out for its first outing last weekend - family camp with the Scouts. Was excellent - really easy to get up and down, cosy inside (we bought the Outwell self-inflating roll mats and we have a cosy flannelette lined double sleeping bag!) DD1 was in a scout tent with her mates, we had DD2 in with us as she's only 4, and SIL/BIL in the opposite end as it seemed daft for them to put their tent up as well when we had such a big one.

There was one Cath Kidston tent there - belonged to the 17/18 year old (male) explorer scout!

Great weekend - DD2 loved being able to get filthy playing in the woods, and I learned that I'm crap at archery but not bad with an air rifle so DH had better watch out...

I Love my tunnel tent. I can put it up on my own, in 30 minutes. Granted they are a frantic, sweaty 30 minues but still.......

PeachyChocolateEClair · 11/05/2007 20:08

we had a pod one last year, took ages- the tunnel is much faster!

Report
beckybrastraps · 11/05/2007 20:07

Now you say it takes longer to put up, but we went camping with some friends last year and we were installed whilst their fancy pods were still flapping in the wind.

It does take up more room admittedly - it is huge when folded, but we take a trailer so it doesn't really bother us.

We do still have our little dome tent, which we take with us when we camp without the children to celebrate our anniversary (we know how to live it up in the Brastraps household I can tell you). We can be fully installed and off for dinner in 9 minutes. Yay!

Quite glad we're not going camping this weekend though - it is absolutely tipping down and I've got the heating on, it's so cold.
