I have a nappy bucket with a lid for night-time wees and I'm not ashamed to admit it. There is nothing worse than being all cosy in your sleeping bag, but having that little nagging "I need a wee" feeling - and knowing that you have to get out, get a fleece and wellies on, get a torch, unzip several really noisy zips and trek across fields in the dark, trying to avoid tripping over guy-lines, in order to have a wee

I think if I were going this time of year I'd be taking hot water bottles with me.

My other tip would be to put a blanket or carry mat underneath your mattress as the cold comes up from the ground.

Please remeber loads of very warm clothes, we camped at the weekend and despite the lovely daytime weather it was freezing at night, take extra duvets if you can.

I have (how sad is this?) a word doc. with a camping checklist on it, which I just print off for a trip. If you do one now and take it with you (and a pen!) you can add to it while you are there so that next time you will have a more definitive list.

Has anyone said dustpan and brush?

Ooh yes, hats and warm bedsocks. And spare blankets - for wrapping round you when you sit out at night drinking wine.

Chopping board, for some reason I can't manage without mine when camping, oh and folding crate thingies to keep food/clothes/washing up in.

yes you should be okay make sure you have vests, jumpers etc, and a few pairs of socks, we cheated and slept in our campervan but it was still very cold.

It can get very cold at night - I would jam in as many blankets etc. as you have room for (and a hot water bottle). With an airbed it's also a good idea to have a layer between the airbed and the groundsheet of the tent (like a picnic blanket) because you can get condensation. I also have a fitted sheet on the airbed which helps with condensation but you won't be able to do that with a built-in airbed/bag like that.

hot water bottles worry me.
But agree with layers and sleep in tracksuits and hoodies.
I slept with thermals and a trackie and the hood up and my nipples were soooo errect, I've never known anything like it, so painful!!!!

Yes those pockets in the chair are great, perfect for a tin of bud! Not so good for a wine glass!

Ohhhhhhhh - wine - buy a box of, sooooo much easier. ypu know the stuff that comes in a silver foil bag in a box.
