and the weather forecast doesn't look much better for the weekend.

We're away for 4 nights to North Wales in our folding camper - I suspect it's not going to be much fun if the rain is this heavy.

What are your wet weather fall backs while camping. Obviously go out anyway and try and find indoor activities, but failing that? Dses are 5 and 2, so while the older one would be thrilled with a few board games inside the camper while the rain pounds down overhead, I can't see ds2 being thrilled...

I have a Nikon 210, but would love the 8 mega pixel one which has a good optical zoom. I know what you mean about the digital slr's, my brother bought one but found he never took it anywhere with him because it was too bulky. He's coming to help me load a few hundred photographs from my p.c. onto my memory card so I can take it into Jessops to be printed out.

Thanks for the advice GeorginaA - think it's funny the way we've turned this thread from camping into photography . I'll have a look at that link in a minute. I love taking photographs and am quite proud of quite a lot I've taken. Oh, here's my clever brother now!!

LOL... the infamous thread drift

Yes, that's what I worry about having a DSLR too - whether I'll bother carrying the damn thing around. The A620 is really neat and light, and at least it's forced me to learn more about composition and how to get the best out of it. Would love a proper macro lens though!

Oh, the other photography trick I've learned - take thousands of photos and only display the 8 that worked

Does that mean you have to camp in the Sahara?
