and the weather forecast doesn't look much better for the weekend.

buggerbuggerbuggerbuggerbuggerbuggerbuggerbuggerbuggerbugger

We're away for 4 nights to North Wales in our folding camper - I suspect it's not going to be much fun if the rain is this heavy.

What are your wet weather fall backs while camping. Obviously go out anyway and try and find indoor activities, but failing that? Dses are 5 and 2, so while the older one would be thrilled with a few board games inside the camper while the rain pounds down overhead, I can't see ds2 being thrilled...

See recent thread on what to do in that part of Wales when it's raining. at least there are lots of indoor things to do around Carnaerfon. also lots of pubs and cafes serving hearty food for a wet day.

we are going this weekend camping in Wales too. but going on Sat evening and to the Gower so am hoping weather is bearable.

Oooo stourport isn't that far! Thanks

Yes, seen that thread fennel, and we are resolved to dragging ourselves out as much as possible. But if it gets torrential like it was earlier today, even that is going to be pretty unenjoyable... so was fishing for back up plans

Playdoh. Toy cars. Colouring books.

I guess your ds's won't appreciate Polly Pocket quite so much as my 4-yr-old dd?

We go to a festival every Aug BH and we've not had a sunny one since having the kids.

My dd's favourite wet-weather camping activity is always to put wellies and all-in-one waterproof on and go outside. We cheer her on through the tent windows, and wait with a large towel.

GeorginaA, guess what? We are having flash floods here in Liverpool, not to mention very, very loud thunder and lightening. I'm just about to check on Metcheck to see what the forecast is for the weekend in Derbyshire , fingers crossed it is 95 degrees there! ha!!

Hi SS, I've put three loads of washing on (well, I have got four children), couldn't put it on the line to dry as it's been chucking it down for over an hour now, so the dryers on! The kichen smells like a laundry!

I've hoovered and ironed the kids clothes, just got to put them into bags. I'm hoping that we can start to load the car up after we've had our tea so save time tomorrow.

Lucky you not having to take your tent! You'll be able to sit comfortably in your car now without having your legs sqashed. Where are you off to?

There you are, you are a domestic godess after all (you get an extra point because you hoovered yourself).

SS very of you leaving your car at the pub! Did you walk home or can't you remember?

SS - very sorry your night out ended like that! Have you tried acidophilus from Holland and Barratt? My cousin takes it for her IBS and says it helps. Hope you feel better soon
