Gawd, the minimalists will kill us.....

It was Someone Else's idea, all right?

Carry on where you left off, be it owls, bins, sharks, tins of vodka, karaoke etc. [grain]

It is indeed a drama, scary [grain]. One I'm getting a bit fed up with - I keep having to remind myself through gritted teeth that I do this for fun.... ahh, it'll be all right on the night!

Am corpsing silently in work over the idea of Druids on Slubber's drive. Providing they don't start constructing a wickerman out of the nettle farm (a nettleman?) she should be ok...

lovecat · 18/08/2011 10:18

Notwaving - I have a cast of 6. So far I have had to replace 4 of them. 2 of them got new jobs that involved late night working so couldn't do rehearsals, 1 was the teacher whose bosses deemed it inappropriate, 1 was a replacement for one of the new job dropouts, who only lasted 2 weeks before leaving via email yesterday citing 'personal issues' Hmm (trying not to get paranoid!).

However, the cast-of-thousands play that's on after ours started rehearsals last night and we stole one of their guys in the tea break, in exchange for promising to be implement-wielding peasants in their currently-thin crowd scenes (they're doing Terry Pratchett's Carpe Jugulum). So we're back to a full cast. For the moment. If I can just prevent my leading lady from getting any more piercings or changing her hair colour again, I can start enjoying it now....

notwavingjustironing · 18/08/2011 10:46

crikey "personal issues"? Who do they think they are, Oliver Reed?

You may well be graining and groaning, I think you are perfectly entitled to!

Yes, Wickerman would be good. Or Bramble could paint the outline of a white hen with a club in its hand on Slubber's lawn.

lovecat · 18/08/2011 11:32

Ooh yes. Cerne Abbas Hen. Me likey. :o

ReshapeWhileDamp · 18/08/2011 15:16

Grin at Cerne Abbas Hen. I hope it'd be a rude hen. Or Cockerel, rather.

Thanks for support re. offspring's poo. He just took his own pants off and went to the potty for a pee too, so oh.my.god, could we have finally cracked it? Too early to tell.

It's not very nice camping weather today, is it? We're off this time next week and I'm bricking it a bit. It's not just the camping, it's the sticking-it-out-at-the-festival-in-the-rain bit. I'm going to need some waterproof trousers, aren't I?

notwavingjustironing · 18/08/2011 15:24

or "technical" trousers as Slubber we would like to call them....

OP posts:
SeaShellsInTheMoonlight · 18/08/2011 16:08

Reshape-well done ds!! Sounds like it's going really well :)

Well everywhere down here is flooded-we have had massive thunderstorms. The centre of town is under water Shock I was trying to consult through flash/crash/bang....didn't really help chill the animals!!

Very glad not to be in a tent today :)

brambleschooks · 18/08/2011 16:13

Congratulations on the poo.

Seashells remind me where you are, sounds awful. I am a bit wobbly about going away next week as I don't want to end up sodden.

Reshape, what festival are you going to? Do have to stick a finger in your ear?

I am setting the eggs under the hens tonight [grain]. do you think that slubber will mind if I post the spare hens through her letter box? I could shove live maggots through every day to feed them.

Anyone checked photos lately?

notwavingjustironing · 18/08/2011 16:22

Weeping....

You're in so much trouble Muriel Bramble

Will you feed the hens [grain] or [groan] ?

Slubber is going to be batshit mad with you really pleased with all your efforts....

You have bunted, she will come.

Poole/Bournemouth. It's crazy-glad to be home from work with the kids cuddled up watching tv :) it's meant to be the airshow today-I think they will be struggling again to get the red arrows to fly, plus all the stalls must be washed away :(

SeaShellsInTheMoonlight · 18/08/2011 16:31

www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-dorset-14574705 I'm meant to be having a night out in that lake tonight!

brambleschooks · 18/08/2011 17:12

Oh bugger and I do like a nice airshow, particular fondness for chinooks. That's the area I was hoping to camp in next week too :(

Kingsroadie · 18/08/2011 17:13

Hi everyone! We're back - and we missed the rain by a few hours - drove back through it which was....interesting. Am now shattered. Camping with full kit, a puppy and a toddler and no husband to do all the lifting means a lot of physical exercise for me!

But - I feel properly initiated now and really enjoyed it. We had a lot of comments on our tent - will try and get a few pics up temporarily - not sure how to but sure I will work it out - when I can be bothered. Just want a bath now but will be waiting until the babe is in bed...Hopefully early as she is super tired too!

Looking forward to our family trip in September and am feeling like the expert now - will be telling my husband what to do rather than the other way round Grin Cobb was fab (we made s'mores too - yum) , tent was fab, weather was good - only rained a bit at night! Nice to be home though...

Um, the nutella mug cake looks amazing. Will be cooking that asap.

Bramble - love what you've done with the bins dahling. Smashing.

Oh, and yay for poo...

brambleschooks · 18/08/2011 17:15

You'll need very good technical trousers and waders tonight.

notwavingjustironing · 18/08/2011 17:27

Seashells, just seen the pics on the BBC News pages - mad or what ?

Hope you're all safe.

Kingsroadie · 18/08/2011 17:45

Gosh seashells! Mental...

SeaShellsInTheMoonlight · 18/08/2011 18:20

All well and safe thanks. It's meant to be sun tomorrow, so hopefully will be lovely Hmm Grin

SeaShellsInTheMoonlight · 18/08/2011 18:21

Kingsroadie-can't wait to see your tent!

F1lthym1ndedvixen · 18/08/2011 19:29

Wow at the flooding Shock
I feel properly cheated by this summer. I live in t'north and although is is warmish, it has been wet every bloody day off that I have had. Or been SO grey and low cloud that one feels apathetic.
We normally have spent at least 6 or so days by the river, swimming and splashing and bbq-ing by now. We have managed one. and it was frankly, a bit drear and chilly.

I WANT A REFUND!

brambleschooks · 18/08/2011 19:56

Why is it autumn outside?

Wving to kings roadie, glad it went well.

Three eggs set under each hen. Another eleven to go after a cuppa. :)
You will all then have to hold my hand for the three week pregnancy.

brambleschooks · 18/08/2011 19:56

Btw, mental BBC pictures. And here's me thinking that a tarp would have protected me from weather.

F1lthym1ndedvixen · 18/08/2011 20:05

see, y'all need a bongo...Wink

JetLi · 18/08/2011 20:11

Holy shit seashells! serious weather that! Shock
Glad you had a good trip king [grain]
Yay for potty training breakthroughs reshape but boo for poo-y towels
Bon hatching brambles
lost that kettle is a thing of beauty Shock I must have one

DP is stuck at work due to American lack of knowledge of international time zones. I need gin.

brambleschooks · 18/08/2011 20:17

I have gin [grain]

lovecat · 18/08/2011 20:27

Oh my, the weather! Shock Hope you're all okay, Seashells.

Am now wibbling at thought of camping tomorrow... although the met office site says sunny with clouds for Friday/Saturday in Kent, so am hopeful of good enough weather.

Glad your trip went well, Kingy. Look forward to photos.

How much does that kettle hold, Losty? It looks nice, I want one...

Am rather concerned that on another thread in a scary part of the site someone is being accused of being DP under another name because they do this... at the ends of their sentences - I've been doing that all my online life, I hope I don't get similarly accused!

brambles, I know nowt about chooks, am assuming the 3 week pregnancy is one of your laydees? pmsl @ the baybee dolly... :o

Do you know what that drive is really missing?
