My calorie goal is 1800 and I'm counting down to a holiday in mid June that I want to feel amazing for.

I thought I'd start this thread for anyone else who wants motivation and support for adhering to a calorie goal.

I'm going to screenshot MyFitnessPal and post at the end of each day but you can share your daily cals in any way you wish.

Let's start by sharing our daily calorie goal ☺️

👋 I’ll join you! My calorie goal is a very miserable 1400 a day 😢 Sunday to Thursday at least, and slightly more Friday/saturday. I’ve been doing slimming world but my weight loss is soooooo slow and I want a bit of a boost now before summer arrives.

i’m 5’7, 150lbs, sedentary wfh job, but i do exercise daily (I run and do strength training) plus I walk the dog every day. My average daily calorie tdee according to Garmin is around 1900-2100 a day so I hope that 1400 will give me a 1lb a week loss.

@thenewaveragebear1983 how's your day going so far? Are you on track?

1400 - it’s my maintenance give or take 50 either way (office job)

Favouritefruits · 20/04/2024 19:17

I’d love to join in, I’m currently eating 1300 a day I’ve upped from 1200 as I stopped loosing weight I’m 5”7 and a size 16 82kg!

Favouritefruits · 20/04/2024 19:18

@yellowr0se are you loosing the weight easily by lowering calories or do you exercise too?

thenewaveragebear1983 · 20/04/2024 19:22

@yellowr0se ermmmm……

Well yesterday I was ok with my food but I had a truly boring and miserable day at work so dh bought red wine which I had….
today I started well, ran 5miles, a good breakfast- but then went to my mums for dinner which was like a Sunday roast (even though it’s Saturday) so I dread to think how many calories consumed. I have roughly guesstimated but it’s impossible really isn’t it? no alcohol though, and I won’t eat anything else now today.

I’ll be back on it tomorrow I promise 🤞

yellowr0se · 20/04/2024 19:34

@Favouritefruits I do lots of exercise- 8-10k steps a day of walking/ jogging.

Gym weights 3 times a week

Yoga once a week

Mines 1200-1400 but try to keep to the lower end. Absolutely not on track but need to be from Monday inwards

FlabMonsterIsDietingAgain · 20/04/2024 19:49

1670 is my max, currently at 918 for today so will have a snack in a bit, would usually have had more but been busy attacking the weeds in the garden and haven't thought about food or felt hungry.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 21/04/2024 13:27

Today I’ve walked the dog and done 2 Caroline Girvan videos. I’ve totalled up my meals and expected calories and I should just about scrape in at target of 1400 but it will be tight and I won’t have the same dinner as the rest of the family (ds wants lasagne which is probably my whole days calories in one meal- I’ll just have the meat and 30g cheese but leave the white sauce and pasta.

I feel really demotivated and flat today. I think it’s partly my hormones, I am ovulating and I’m on HRT and today is the day I switch my patches. But I feel totally meh and a bit pissed off with life in general. The sun is shining but it’s bloody freezing and windy out and I just feel really irritable and grumpy.

mum2flossie · 22/04/2024 09:27

I use the nutra check app & my first goal is 10% weight loss (what the app recommends to start with) to lose 1 lb a week I can have 1752, but I've been losing more! I try and walk once a day. 8 weeks postpartum and lost 4lbs since tracking

sunshine2go · 25/04/2024 14:56

Looks like this thread has already gone silent! Is anyone on here to do some accountability posts?

I'm 10weeks PP and have 2.5stone to loose 😭
But I'm struggling to get motivated. So far I'm living off of chocolate and biscuits with the odd salad lol.

This last week I have started to walk more. But I need to get the food intake in check consistently. D and ideally want to start working out properly - I love strength training. But due to two small people running my life it's difficult to get any time to!

Tomorrow I'll post calories and any exercise.

We can do this!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 25/04/2024 16:59

@sunshine2go i’ve not posted because I’ve had a really crappy week and gone way over my calories . I’m supposed to be weighing in tonight but last week I was 1/2 a pound from my first target/1stone, this week I’ve put on 2lbs- I refuse to go and be told I’ve gained weight so I’m sulking at home, flitting between :

  1. an almighty binge and getting wine, or
  2. being super strict and healthy for 2 days and weighing in on Saturday instead.

hmmm I know what I should do, but it’s not the most fun option….

thenewaveragebear1983 · 25/04/2024 16:59

I will say though, I look really skinny and I’ve had to buy new jeans this week in a size lower so something must be working, but I want the numbers dammit

thenewaveragebear1983 · 25/04/2024 17:01

Pps “I look really skinny” is all relative 🤣 read it back and sounds a very vain post 🤣

Haha yes I was wondering why you look really skinny but need to calorie count!

Seeing the results is so rewarding and motivating I find. Yes you know what you should be doing the next couple of days! Haha!

I'm going to weigh in on Fridays I think. I'll start AGAIN tomorrow and will post my accountability. I think I'm aiming for 1500 as breastfeeding. To loose 1lb a week I usually need 1200 as I'm 5ft2/3!

We have got this!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 25/04/2024 21:39

@sunshine2go well I ate a penguin biscuit and a few rounds of toast, in addition to my dinner, and now I’m drinking wine. I did listen to a hypno recording and now I feel a lot better 🤣

will try harder tomorrow, I promise.

How much do you want to loose, have you hit a goal?

thenewaveragebear1983 · 25/04/2024 22:17

@sunshine2go i’ve lost 13lbs so far at slimming world and before that i lost about 7lbs on my own. My first target is 1stone, which I’m very close to, but then really I’d like to lose another 6/7lbs. That would take me to 10.2/10.3 which I do think is my lowest really. I do a lot of exercise, so I could be pretty trim at 10.3. I think it will take me a long time, I fluctuate huge amounts (like 6lbs up after a weekend) and I retain a lot of water.

I’ve been doing Caroline Girvan YouTube videos for strength training, they are great if you can snatch 30 mins a few times a week?

sunshine2go · 25/04/2024 23:43

@thenewaveragebear1983 great work in your 1stone loss!!! You can defo achieve the 6/7 lbs. Maybe do it in two chunks 3 weeks diet, week off and 3 weeks diet. To give yourself a break of a week in-between.

It does look like we can gain a lot of weight in a weekend but in reality I find it's just water weight. Diet for like 2/3 days and it's off.

I'm defo going to check out the strength exercise suggestions, thanks!! I defo need to make some the time.

sparklealways · 26/04/2024 05:07

I am so sorry guys!!!

I've had a poorly LO and not had a second ro think.

Super keen to get this post going though. I've probably eaten about 500/600 over every single day this week.

TODAY IT CHANGES.

I find evening snack the hardest. It always just bumps me way over my goal.

teenboymom · 26/04/2024 05:15

I've always gone for 1300-1400 cals when 'being good'. I could never sustain it, I'd do great for two weeks then give in so I signed up to a calorie challenge with a pt (all done remotely. She gave me 1650 cals which I thought was way too much as I'm only 5ft 2 weighing 68kg. I just said I'm going to trust the process. Her point was that when you are on less than 1400 it's not sustainable and it works well for a couple of weeks then you start to get cravings/binge because you are so hungry and there's no room for treats or drinks at the weekend.

So I've been mainly eating 1500 then banking 150 for the wine at the weekend. I can't believe how full and satisfied I am. I'm hitting protein goal of 120 plus every day and I'm losing weight, cms. It's only week 2 but was happy with my loss last week
