Anyone want to join me in losing weight?

I lost weight last year and more the year before. But having fallen off the wagon a bit lately, I now need to lose another stone to get back into my BMI (health reasons).

Anyone care to join me?

Well. First day here I go! Weighing in at 10st4.6lbs. Having 2 poached eggs on one slice of toast, with mushrooms and spinach cooked in fry light for breakfast. 174 calories. Smile

Mrsramsayscat · 02/07/2018 19:16

Chosen, that's a great motto for the week. I'm up for that. Slimming world (I went a couple of years ago for the first loss) used to say that lots of water is proven to help, too.

I'm going to weigh myself every Monday. I'm still 11 st 9 but it's only 2 days.

By the way, welcome Beetle, Princess and DoctorMadeline.

And DrM, that's serious exercise! Go you!
Beetle, stick him on vegeburgers and let him cook anything else himself! That said, I lost loads last summer when I wasn't tolerating meat after my gallstones (or dairy). Pulses served me well, weigh wise!
Princess, please don't be forced into anything. Your body is your affair, and it's hard to lose weight unless you're mentally up for it.

So did a weigh in today and I’m 10st. That is a 5lb loss over 6 weeks so am happy with that.

Actually drank plenty of water today - even whilst waiting for a prescription I necked a bottle haha!!

How is everyone feeling today? I’m not actually missing chocolate at the mo and I think the heat is helping lol

:)

Mrsramsayscat · 02/07/2018 19:43

2 pounds in two days! I'll get my water bottle. Well done!

Sorry that was 2lb in 2 weeks as I only weigh on Monday’s and had slipped last Monday...sorry for confusion! X

BeetlebumShesAGun · 02/07/2018 21:39

ramsaycat yes i’m hoping reducing my meat intake helps things along!

I’m finishing today 30 calories under 1200 and that’s with 2 flutes of rose cava that was left over from the weekend. Pleased!

DrMadelineMaxwell · 02/07/2018 21:59

I've logged my cals (inc the milkshake that I had, but could afford due to hot weather and double salads today for my meals!) and have been to West End Workout.

I've also bought a pretty dress from Billie and Blossom. It's a 14. The shape is perfect for me and it's a thin, unlined but good quality dress. It's a good incentive to not slip straight away as I have a wedding I'd like to wear it to in Aug.

ImogenTubbs · 02/07/2018 22:06

Chosenbyyou - that's great. It doesn't take long for it to add up.

Funnyfishface · 03/07/2018 00:03

Can I join please
I am 9.12 and would like to be under 9.
Aged 51 and peri menopausal and zero willpower 5ft 2
Similar stats to a few of you.

robindeer · 03/07/2018 02:19

Me too please! Currently on maternity leave and breastfeeding but diastasis recti combined with a predominantly chocolate based diet mean I now don't really fit into any of my clothes. Is there an option on my fitness pal to allow extra calories for breastfeeding or is that just a myth?

Currently 13st and need to lose at least 2 stone, ideally 2 and half!

Lovelise · 03/07/2018 14:55

Hello everybody! May I join please? I had DC2 May last year, eaten far too much and now need to lose about 1 and a half stone.

I went to Slimming World a couple of months ago but didn't get on with the ethos at all. I am now good old fashioned calorie counting!

I started off at 12st 10lb, am currently 11st 7lb and am 5 foot 4.

I am aiming for 10st. I weigh on on Thursday mornings.

nervousseacreature · 03/07/2018 20:54

I’d live to join too please.

I’ve got a 16 month old and a 4 month old so life is fairly hectic. Have realised I was mostly eating toast, biscuits and lukewarm tea.....weighed myself for the first time in ages and have put on a stone since my wedding. So have logged back into MyFitnessPal......need some motivation and accountability!!!!

Currently sitting at 68.4kg (10.7 stone).

Cheeseandapple · 04/07/2018 06:56

@robindeer I think we're in similar situations - I'm also breastfeeding and find it difficult to know how many cals to aim for each day! Do you have a target weight/time frame?

Mrsramsayscat · 04/07/2018 08:36

Hi all
Hope you're all doing great today. Am away till Thursday at a friends house. Eating pretty carefully. Two glasses wine last night but lots of salads and fish in between.

Hope your all doing ok. Well done to the new starters for joining in.

Well done MrsRamseyCat - I find social situations the hardest as you want to relax and join in and end up nibbling loads and drinking wine.

I am v pleased this morning that the scales are showing 15 stone. That's a stone less than I weighed 3 months ago and the last half of that has been in the last two weeks. I really do feel on a mission at the moment. Have completely cut out chocolate, sweets and snacks on anything other than a few almonds, and have cut the booze down a lot. Holiday next week - next challenge! Next goal is to lose another stone by my birthday at the end of August.

Mrsramsayscat · 04/07/2018 10:33

So well done Imogen. That's a lot of weight. You sound really motivated so I'm sure you'll do well.

Am out to lunch with friend today at seaside so fingers crossed!

@Cheeseandapple I read this article www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21349230 which suggests limiting your daily calorie intake to 2000 and exercising for 45mins a day 4 times a week will allow you to lose 0.5kg a week without compromising your milk production or quality. That's what I was worried about as My Fitness Pal told me I should limit my intake to 1450. I don't want to do anything to jeopardise my baby's growth but I literally don't fit any of my clothes anymore!

nervousseacreature · 04/07/2018 14:15

Well done imogen that’s a great loss!

ImogenTubbs · 04/07/2018 15:14

Thank you nervouscreature and mrsramseycat.
*
Robindeer* - can't you adjust your settings? I seem to remember that MFP bases your daily calorie allowance on your target weight loss and time period that you put in when you're setting it up. If you adjust those targets a bit, it should get to a calorie count you're more comfortable with. Sorry if you've already tried that! MFP is definitely not a perfect answer but I find it helpful in honestly tracking what I'm eating and getting a steer on nutrition as well as calories.

Lovelise · 04/07/2018 21:30

MrsImogenscat I hate thinking I'm on a diet so a little bit of something you fancy here and there doesn't do too much harm, as long as it doesn't spiral out of control!

When I eat out I forget about it and then make up for it by being really good the next day.

Weigh in tomorrow for me!

Lovelise · 05/07/2018 08:17

I lost a pound! 11st 6lbs now. I'm well chuffed!

Cheeseandapple · 05/07/2018 13:41

Well done @Lovelise & @ImogenTubbs !! Keep it up!

I think my first week has been a bit of a slow start! I found meal planning really difficult. Made a small step of not buying puddings and snacks so I've just been eating home cooked food. I was scoffing any sweet treat so I'm 🤞🏻 that cutting that out will have made a difference. Did a speedy walk around the park with DD in the buggy yesterday but not done much else exercise-wise 😣

Any new-Mum friendly tips welcome!

@robindeer ahh that's great - very helpful.

Lovelise · 05/07/2018 16:13

Thank you Cheeseandalple! Although I have just scoffed some pick and mix that DH brought back from the cinema yesterday. I skipped lunch so that was why.

I know in some places they do 'buggysize', mums that walk and do exercise with baby in the pram..

RedPony1 · 06/07/2018 09:18

Can i join please!

My weight has crept back on despite having a manic and very active life outside of work!

I have 2st to lose. I started calorie counting at the weekend, it's never worked for me in the past though, so i significantly reduced the amount i ate this past week.... 1000 calories a day, except for run days where i ate 1200.

Lost 5lb!
