tehy are about to talk about whether breastfeeding should be kept off public transport. cant wait to see what rubbish they come up with, they always do BF a disservice when they talk about it.

sorry i completely confused two of tehir topics. tehy are talking about booze on public transport.

but i did hear them mention breastfeeding. must be later on.

God they're talking about it now... another load of unhelpful bollocks.

loopyloo82 · 28/06/2010 13:12

Great, yet again we're made to feel like freaks for daring to feed in public. Why did I watch it? Angry now

booyhoo · 28/06/2010 13:12

that was awful, they really have no clue. why do they even discuss it. i want to ring them and give them a bollocking live on air.

OP posts:
booyhoo · 28/06/2010 13:14

what was glaringly obvious from their 'discussion' was that they all see breats as sexual. i usually like carol mcgiffin but she does have issues about her breasts if she feels she is in a dancing bar because a woman is bfing in a cafe.

OP posts:
picklesrule · 28/06/2010 13:14

just watched it..wish I hadn't as has made me v cross..grrr would love to ring up and shout!
such ridiculous opinions...altho don;t know why I expected anything else

booyhoo · 28/06/2010 13:15

i know pickles, i knew what it would be like but i still watched it.

OP posts:
loopyloo82 · 28/06/2010 13:15

And that if people feel uncomfortable when a woman breastfeeds in public, then that is the woman's fault and she is the one in the wrong

loopyloo82 · 28/06/2010 13:16

No, it is society's fault... and in particular, the fault of stupid discussions like that

booyhoo · 28/06/2010 13:17

i know, carol mentioned feeding in the loo as if she was joking but i think she would prefer if we did.

OP posts:
loopyloo82 · 28/06/2010 13:18

And I hate the way they are all so careful to say that breastfeeding is good "in the early days"- apparently not afterwards.
Oh, I'm on a rant

carriedababi · 28/06/2010 13:18

oh ffs, what a bunch of old hags!

asif feeding a baby like having sex ffs

really pissed me off now.

how do they get away with putting poision spite like this out ion tv, i want to know

fucking numpties

booyhoo · 28/06/2010 13:18

yes and when andrea pointed out that in lots of other countries it is the most natural thing to bf, lisa replied that she thought that it was maybe just a small corner!!!! educate yourself woman!1

OP posts:
picklesrule · 28/06/2010 13:18

the whole thing was just offensive. Women breastfeeding apparently as inappropriate as dancing bars and celebs with no knickers on..

no wonder we have such crappy breastfeeding rates when people are confronted with idiotic opinions like that

carriedababi · 28/06/2010 13:19

its such a fucking struggle bf, i found it bloody hard, and attitudes like this make it soooo much harder.

i'm going to burst in a min.

booyhoo · 28/06/2010 13:20

thsi really annoyed me, "there are plenty of natural things i wouldn't do in a cafe"

feeding a baby is one of the natural things you definitely should be able to do in a CAFE

OP posts:
loopyloo82 · 28/06/2010 13:20

Yes, I agree pickles. The government can spend all the money it likes on marketing breastfeeding as a positive thing, but one five-minute discussion like that just ruins it all.

carriedababi · 28/06/2010 13:20

why don't they look at themselves and thinking why do i find it uncomforable?

oh sorry thta would actually require thinking

Hobnobfanatic · 28/06/2010 13:20

I've just emaield them - I'm soooo furious! They were full of ridicule!

picklesrule · 28/06/2010 13:21

how do they get away with stuff like that?

I mean it wasn't even a balanced debate just four idiots spouting nonsense statements about breastfeeding making them feel awkward when getting their lattes...

Is that the norm for this programme? Shouldn't there be some kind of rule against it!!

picklesrule · 28/06/2010 13:22

ooh whats the email address..

booyhoo · 28/06/2010 13:22

i noticed when andrea asked if they thought it was just our society that makes us feel like it is creepy the question went unanswered.

OP posts:
loopyloo82 · 28/06/2010 13:23

How do you e-mail the programme? Or do you just e-mail ITV? I feel a complaint coming on

StealthPolarBear · 28/06/2010 13:23

so it was about feeding in public?
And how it's OK if you're baby's tiny and you're DISCREET I assume?

MathsMadMummy · 28/06/2010 13:25

hmm I didn't see it. glad I didn't though!

so were all of them against public BF though? or was there actually a vague element of 'debate'
