I was boobing up my DS today, and I thought to myself "Who are all these wankers that hate that phrase?"

ppfffffffft

Flamebat · 21/10/2006 23:58

I was lost there too...

I think I might have baffled DH tonight... I'd always mentioned stopping once I didn't have to bother with formula - muttered something about not knowing when I was stopping and he gave me a look a bit like this

He isn#t brave enough to query it aloud though

I'm liking the "More" thing.

I am considering teaching DS to call it "fruitshoot" just to get people riled up

AlfredAitchcock · 21/10/2006 23:58

no. my poor chum, she's forever getting helpful advice from people as to how she might stop breastfeeding, she's been too mortified to bf outside for aaaaages thanks to the comments. i was with her once and some old woman was tutting. i'm afraid i told her to erf orf. (see? i'm v pro-bfing really. )

harpsichordcarrion · 21/10/2006 23:59

night ladies mwah mwah
the weirdy breastfeeder is off to bed
lie in tomorrow

bctmum · 22/10/2006 00:00

What about cheese string!!

harpsichordcarrion · 22/10/2006 00:00

lol at calling it fruitshoot
hmm maybe I should get dd2 to call it Pepsi Max
More comes from when I would be trying to persuade her to finish and go to bed.
"One More Minute" out of the corner of her mouth, holding up one finger

harpsichordcarrion · 22/10/2006 00:01

aitch, would your friend like to borrow this particular expression of mine:

it is staggeringly useful for all occasions

bctmum · 22/10/2006 00:01

or big mac....or pork pie and chips please mum...

VeniVidiVickiQV · 22/10/2006 00:03

Night night....keep your hands to yourself

VeniVidiVickiQV · 22/10/2006 00:04

oh no Aitch - i think her using very openly the phrase "I am going to feed my toddler now WITH MY BREASTS" would be great

OP posts:
AlfredAitchcock · 22/10/2006 00:06

she's not the type. i, on the other hand, would relish the confrontation but as you know my bosoms somewhat let me down in that arena.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 22/10/2006 00:12

Well, maybe you could say it
Dont knock yourself about not being able to b/feed. It happens.

OP posts:
AlfredAitchcock · 22/10/2006 00:13

ach, i'm largely over it. i've taken to blaming dd, the lazy little sucker.
maybe next time.

AlfredAitchcock · 22/10/2006 00:14

'i am going to feed her toddler with my breasts'? that's another thread, surely?

VeniVidiVickiQV · 22/10/2006 00:16

It would take the focus off of your friend

Oh I love the 'With My Breasts' phrase

'Boobing up'..can't say I'm familiar with the term, although 'boobs' is the prefered word for, um, boobs in my house

For breastfeeding, it's usually 'milkies' in front of the kids & DH, or the rather more delicate 'nursing' (an americanism?) in front of others. Or simply 'breastfeeding'

When I was feeding DD in front of my nephew, he was fascinated because my brother told him I had strawberry milkshake in one boob and chocolate in the other

DetentionGrrrl · 22/10/2006 11:44

I say 'having some boobie', or my fella's favourite is when i ask the baby if he wants a 'good shnuffling'

MadamePlatypus · 22/10/2006 11:49

Have never heard of 'boobing up'. My worst breastfeeding expression is 'So are you feeding her YOURSELF' said in a knowing way.

Tickle · 22/10/2006 12:19

ROFL at this thread esp Harpsi, Hunker and VVV!

In our house it's the milk bar - as in "ds2 is just at the milk bar, then he'll be off to bed".

KristinaM · 22/10/2006 12:26

ROFL at you lot!! My favourite thing is my 2yo Ds trying to Bf his teddy in public. I smile serenely while Dh is DESPERATE to say something/stop him but is too scared

Tickle · 22/10/2006 12:29

I love it when the toddlers bf their toys

mustcackleorsuckbloodmore · 22/10/2006 12:43

Yeah, our toy of choice is a plastic crocodile!

SoupDragon · 22/10/2006 12:45

No way would I boob a crocodile...
