Finally bedtime here, tomorrow we are going to start working on getting a more structured bed time in place!

Amey stick to your guns! Grrr at in laws lol

MrsNPattz · 01/04/2013 21:08

Good luck Marbles!

geekette · 01/04/2013 22:05

soyo, I remember those days! sounds like you have a newborn. mine is 7 months old and I am already in denial on how much harder it used to be.

it does get better.

and here's a hand to hold larle !

MissingMyMarbles · 01/04/2013 22:50

Thanks for the well-wishes! Feeling quite anxious and am really tired today due to rubbish night last night then long drive home then sitting for tomorrow. In bed now Missmarbles seems happy to be back in her own bed and DH ready for the first feed when she wants it. Will probably post when expressing tomorrow. I could well be crying in the loo, leaving Missmarbles, swollen boobs and the complete horror of first-day-in-a-new-job lostnessGrin

MissingMyMarbles · 01/04/2013 22:51

*sorting for tomorrow, not sitting Hmm

EeyoresGloomyPlace · 01/04/2013 23:15

Massive hugs larle hope you're feeling ok now, must be so hard but you know you can always come and talk to us when you need to Thanks

soyo it does definitely get easier, I was so terrified if coping on my own with two but its not been half as bad as I feared (last night's shenanigans excepted!) You'll do fine and you'll soon forget it was such a worry. {{hugs}}

marbles good luck tomorrow!

Just got home, 4 hour drive luckily babylump slept the entire way although dd1 amazingly stayed up until we were about half an hour from home. Most of the time she was singing the wheels on the bus so I just dozed in the front and listened to her being very cute. DH is knackered after the drive so feeling sorry for him having to go to work tomorrow but it was worth it for the extra day away.

Need a good night tonight, last night was a killer!

Heff xx

GoatBongosAnonymous · 01/04/2013 23:46

Quick post before crashing. We have teeth arriving briskly here so sleep in short order.
Hugs to you larle and soyo it does indeed get easier. And as they get more interactive they give you more and more reasons to keep going!
marbles thinking of you for tomorrow. It will be fine!
Welcome home heff ...
Greetings all and may the goddess of the sleepy dust smile kindly upon you all.

First feed, this early feed is a pain!

SoYo · 02/04/2013 01:08

Thanks everyone, I know she won't be newborn forever & this too will pass, just wish I could enjoy it a bit more!

First feed at 9 then I had a couple of hours slep in spare room while DH kept watch, then tag team swap at midnight so he can get proper kip before first day of new job &,now second feed commenced. Longest gap between feeds for a while, it would've lovely if she could do that again tonight fat chance

Hope all the older babies are snoozing quietly & you're all having a better night. [busmile]

MrsNPattz · 02/04/2013 01:16

Transfer fail, starting to get really down about his night wakings Sad

SoYo · 02/04/2013 01:39

Transfer fail here too MrsN, grr. .

MrsNPattz · 02/04/2013 01:53

Second transfer fail, I think it must be his teeth because he keeps moaning and turning his head from side to side, just given him Calpol and teething powder and now having his third feed.

Babybeesmama · 02/04/2013 02:02

Good luck heff! Hope you have a good night! Goat - oh no the dreaded teeth!

Mrsn - know exactly how you feel! I feel crap about the night wakings! One day, they will sleep!

Rubbish night so far here Confused feed at 11 then unsettled, having another one now little piggy! DD just woke him up wailing, think she's had a bad dream so kicked DH who has slept blissfully since 10 to go into her before she woke DS but was too late!

Hoping and praying after this feed he transfers and does a decent sleep! Although its only 4 hours till his wake up time anyway...

funchum8am · 02/04/2013 02:30

Hi ladies, am waiting for babyfunch's bottle to warm up as I am on late feed duty tonight. We are still feeding at 10:30 and 2:30 whether she wakes or not, but reducing the volume of milk at 2:30 by 1oz every 4 nights. Dreaming of a future without the 2:30 feed!

mrsn I know what you mean about night wakings getting you down, and I am lucky in that DH is mainly having to deal with it as sahp. One day we will be those people who look back with misty nostalgia at these days...honest...but it is a real killer right now Sad

goat teeth! wah!

We start weaning tomorrow as babyfunch is 6 months this week. There is a little frozen pot of carrot defrosting on the side Shock

abi2790 · 02/04/2013 02:36

Second feed here. I just keep telling myself "atleast he's not waking hourly" but it's not making me feel any less tired :(

MrsN keep your chin up. We're all here for you Brew

Marbles Good luck tomorrow! You will be fine :)

Anypants · 02/04/2013 02:53

Hello chaps - first post on here but wanted.to join in as am on the nightshift with DD. I feel your pain SoYo - it's swings and roundabouts with horrendous cluster feeding last night when I just wanted.to cry and now she's less demanding tonight, I can't seem to sleep as she's making some weird and wonderful noises in her sleep (in stereo with DH). Harumph. Sad

peanutMD · 02/04/2013 03:18

hi can I join?

I have DD who is 4 Weeks today latched on yet again! She slept for 3-4 hour stretches for the first 2 Weeks but now wakes every hour for 15-20 minutes so I am shattered :(

abi2790 · 02/04/2013 03:19

Had a transfer fail so had to feed for another 10 minutes. He's fast asleep now though in his crib so back to sleep for me :) crossing fingers for atleast 4 hours sleep

GoatBongosAnonymous · 02/04/2013 03:25

anypants welcome!

mrsn when I rule the world, teething is going to be a lovely activity that lulls babies gently to sleep.

And everyone else, there will be laws on night wakings and how many are permitted (don't worry, I will be fair on babies with large appetites!). stares at BG who has just been measured again and appears to have grown eleven centimetres in three months, surely impossible, the tape measure must be wrong?

Pinebarrens · 02/04/2013 03:31

here we are....did dream feed at 10.30 and DS just woke up demanding fed.

interestingly i didn't do the dream feed last night to see what happened and he didnt wake until 2.30 then slept until 7.00

i just don't get it!

SoYo · 02/04/2013 04:00

Feed number 3 & she seems worryingly awake!

Trying to use the time productively so I've just ordered a carrier/wrap/sling thing in the hope of actually being able to move about the house during the day a bit more.

Welcome anypants & peanut....MiniYo is 5 weeks so sound like we're in similar positions.

Anypants · 02/04/2013 04:35

Still no joy - another feed now as she seems to be keeping herself awake with all the noise. she is five weeks today and just when you think you've worked her out, she changes tack. Ho hum - at least i'm ridiculously awake and not desperately slapping myself so I don't fall asleep on my sofa... Shock

BrainGoneAwol · 02/04/2013 04:40

Well writing that down came back to bite me - babybrain woke at 11-12 needing calpol and again at 4 for second feed. Still not bad though so not really complaining. He still wakes himself trying to fart which is frustrating Hmm. Maybe it's because he's a boy Grin

marbles hope tomorrow goes well. Be gentle with yourself, especially if you feel all emotional. I think that sounds perfectly understandable!

soyo it will pass. Babybrain is 31 weeks and suddenly 'got it' one night a couple of weeks ago and went down to 1 (or 2) feeds a night. I know all babies are different and he blimmin' took his time but it will come.

Likewise mrsn, you're doing so well in so many ways including ww and stuff. Keep reminding yourself!

Oh larle hang in there. It will get better. Flowers Wine

heff I like your world! Grin

MrsNPattz · 02/04/2013 06:30

Second feed who am I kidding it's probably up time

Thanks guys Thanks I'm going to go to put local breast feeding support group on Thursday to talk to them about night wakings and BLW.

We are all here for you Marbles, it's totally understandable how you feel so be kind to yourself.

abi2790 · 02/04/2013 07:06

Well I almost got the 4 hours I wanted but atleast I got to wake to a very happy baby Smile. He's learnt how to pull his socks off so now he has very cold feet!
