mrsn honestly don't worry about Hv mine have made me upset more than once and really they know nothing about your baby. He's yours and you know him best and you're doing a great job. They get most calories from milk until they are one and solids are just to learn about food not nutrition.
Last night was quite bad he seemed really unsettled after 2am feed and I nearly gave him more milk but then finally he fell asleep. Hoping for a better night tonight as its swimming tomorrow and it always tires me out never mind baby small! That's if I can get there through the mountains of snow we have.

Babybeesmama · 25/03/2013 18:54

Ah mrsn don't worry! From your fb pics your little man looks super healthy & happy! Jeez it HV doesn't think you should be night feeding what would she think of babybee's midnight feasts! We are really lucky to have always come across super nice hv's in our area, but I think its obvious some just stick to text book stuff! Def don't worry tho!

He's on the mend thanks small, still very chesty but no temp now. Def got teeth coming through. Since being poorly he's totally off solids, but he has swiped the odd bit of toast or rice cake & Everytime has gagged and been sick. Strange.

Last night was better, still co slept for part of it tho. But whilst he's poorly I'm letting him. Hopefully he will be 100% by Easter weekend! Xx

Heff - hope all went ok with dsis xx

EeyoresGloomyPlace · 25/03/2013 18:59

Jealous of new bed larle! I'd love a nice big king size but our bedroom is tiny and our standard double only just fits in behind the door. Its top of my list when we move though!

mrsn ignore the stupid health visitor. The more I hear about them the more I am convinced they do more harm than good with a lot of new mums. I'm sure there are cases where their outdated and interfering advice is appreciated but in your case she's talking a load of rubbish. Little man is a beautiful smiley healthy baby, the majority of their calories should be from milk until about a year old, and its all very well her saying he "should" be sleeping through at 6 months but funnily enough most babies I know haven't read that particular manual and if she can't offer any more support than that she's not worth listening to. {{{hugs}}}

I'm feeling a bit better today, yesterday was horrible and I just felt too awful to post last night. Seeing my DSis in that place with all the other people who looked like lost causes made me so miserable. She seemed down too, and I noticed she'd been self harming which I thought they would stop. It feels so hopeless but I have to keep thinking she's at least in the best place. She was happy to see us and especially babylump so that's good. soyo was it you up thread whose brother has just come out of rehab? (Sorry if I've remembered wrongly) how is he now? Do you mind me asking what his vice was? Dsis seems to have the lot and it feels neverending. (Please don't answer if you'd rather not talk about it, I would understand).

Putting babylump down then off to pack for Cornwall tomorrow. Hopefully that'll cheer me up :) Night all xxx

MrsNPattz · 25/03/2013 19:09

Thanks guys - yes he's such a happy chappy so I know he's fine, but she made me feel like I was doing wrong by him and that I didn't know what I was doing!! Very nearly burst into tears right there, but in the end just nodded my head while mentally imagining a voodoo doll!!

Hugs Heff, what an awful situation for you all. Just remember you are doing everything you can and are a brilliant sister Thanks

Amey glad baby bee is a bit better, your keepsakes are lovely!

Larle oh dear!!

larlemucker · 25/03/2013 19:46

Oh MrsN my HV said today that they would only start worrying about sleeping through if he was 8 months. She said until then regular night waking and feeding is normal

MrsNPattz · 25/03/2013 20:00

A few people have said to me not to feed him Larle, but I'm not ready to night wean yet and am happy with the way things are! So that's good to know, thanks!

MissingMyMarbles · 25/03/2013 21:23

Missmarbles is 8 1/2 months and still not sleeping through Confused DD1 slept through for the first time at around this age. Missmarbles is getting better and I am determined not to worry about it. It is a bit of a PITA though. They all do it in their own time and even 8 months is quite an arbitary age.

Heff ThanksBiscuit's

DH and I have each been in to Missmarbles already since bedtime, but no feed required. Hope we get to about 11 before bottle and then hopefully will go the rest of the night - ha ha Hmm ! She has her first nursery settling session tomorrow

BTW, how much milk do your LO's take at their 11 (ish or whatever) feed? Missmarbles only takes 2-3oz, and this I only know because of the bottle - seems hardly worth waking up for HmmConfused

larlemucker · 25/03/2013 21:51

marbles baby larle mainly feeds at every waking overnight, he is bf so not sure of exact amounts but sometimes he only swallows a few times before he is off to sleep again.

We're off to bed, here's hoping we have a night like last night. Sleepy dust to everyone

MissingMyMarbles · 25/03/2013 21:56

Ah yes, Larle that wasn't very clear, I meant from their bottlesGrin She is a really efficient boob feeder so no idea how much she would take from the breast; I'm only guessing that she mustn't take that much overnight, if she only takes that from the bottle. Don't even know if it's comparable because I know she bf's with incredible speed.

MrsNPattz · 25/03/2013 22:07

We are trying something different tonight - a dream feed! To try and stop the early feed at half 10/11. So I watched Broadchurch with hubby and then got little man out, he didn't wake up but is taking a feed! So will see if this makes any difference!

funchum8am · 25/03/2013 22:22

Grr just lost a massive post but basically, heff I hope your sister is ok and am here to talk if you ever want. Mrsn ignore HV if you don't like their advice, they are all so different they can't all be right!

MrsNPattz · 25/03/2013 22:28

That should say half 11/12, not half 10/11!

abi2790 · 26/03/2013 00:41

Sorry your hv upset you *MrsN" :(

First feed here. I am so tired I don't think I'll be able to keep my eyes open nuch longer!

SoYo · 26/03/2013 01:54

Heff it was me, my cousin though, not brother. His was codeine and benzodiazepines (diazepam etc) but he dabbled in pretty much everything (nothing injected) and large amounts of alcohol. He's now drug free, drinks a little & smokes like a chimney! He was originally living in London though & since leaving rehab has been living with parents so away from temptation. The real test will be when he's back inlondon near his old crowd again.

Susieloo · 26/03/2013 03:03

Back to waking up every two hours since 10.30-so fed up of it now and I go back to work in three weeksSad

Will catch up on thread before attempting transfer

Smallgreenone · 26/03/2013 03:29

marbles baby small has a full bottle at 11 and then 2oz now although we are later tonight he normally wakes at 2. I'm night weaning him so 2oz is all he is allowed, in a few days we will go to nothing and then as if by magic he will stop waking in the night just like that

MrsNPattz · 26/03/2013 03:40

First feed, the dream feed stopped the early waking but I didn't get to sleep until gone midnight which is rubbish!

MrsNPattz · 26/03/2013 04:35

So he is wide awake, I don't mind the night feeds but this does my head in!

abi2790 · 26/03/2013 07:23

Well managed to get quite a bit more sleep :) He went baxk to sleep at half 1 and didn't get up til just before 7 :) He's fed for a couple of minutes but noe he doesn't want anymore which isn't like him. Unfortunately he has his vaccinations at 9:20 :(

larlemucker · 26/03/2013 08:28

Hope the vaccs go ok abi

Sorry for bad nights, baby larle fed at 12 but then didn't wake till 6, think it was my birthday present from him.

As its my birthday come and get virtual, fat free, birthday cake!!!

MrsNPattz · 26/03/2013 08:57

Up at 8 here for WW, so a rubbish nights sleep and not all little mans fault! Never mind, I will have some of Larles birthday cake to keep me going, yum - thanks and happy birthday!

Good luck baby Abi!

MrsNPattz · 26/03/2013 10:06

Yey I lost 1.5lb and got my 10% award and goal!

Babybeesmama · 26/03/2013 10:17

Happy birthday larle! And well done mrsn! You are doing amazing! I lost 1lb this week which is nothing short of a miracle considering what I have consumed! Think snow shovelling must of helped! Anyway, we had our usual type of night and co slept 1- morning. I'm going to read my vast collection of sleep books at some point today & decide what to do. I think we need to be stronger at night but its so hard when we are so tired!

I love the pic of keepsakes mrsn! Hoping they arrive today! I'm waiting on a phone call from my boss about my return to work Confused urck, I just don't want to even think about it :( x

larlemucker · 26/03/2013 11:57

Well done MrsN and amey, it's my weigh in tonight. Had a big chocolate ice cream on sun at pizza express so doubt I've lost much!!

GoatBongosAnonymous · 26/03/2013 15:16

Happy birthday larle hope LO 's present is a whole year of good sleep!
