amey I know exactly how you feel....hugs Sad

Hello all Smile

Been catching up on reading but not posting as up too many times and too tired..zzzzz The tooth has finally appeared though, so I am hoping the shenanigans of the last 10 days are going to get themselves away. Only fed a couple of times last night but was going in virtually every hour to settle. On the plus side, feeding wasn't required I suppose. I've been up twice already tonight, but since the 30 minute intruder around 7.30, no feeds required. Hoping to get to at least 11.30 before feeding, and now hoping that I haven't jinxed it.

Hello to MonsterSmile

Chilli your wet books made me laugh out loud Grin

Good work on the good nights, BabyN and glad the dentist wasn't too bad MrsN.

I hope that your impending trip to the same isn't too bad HeffConfused; your DD sounds like such a sweetie Smile I hope your sister stabilises quickly, and sorry that her focus is because your granddad is unwell, although it may prove to be good for her - so complicated sometimes isn't it Thanks

I'm Envy of your enormous bed, PinkGrin We were at my brothers last weekend and they bought our big bed from us a few years ago, when we went abroad. We have a KingSize now but it somehow doesn't seem as big perhaps we're fatter; I know I am Blush Your DS sounds like a cutie with his ValentineGrin

Ah Funch, sooo frustrating when the decision goes wrongSad Hope your KiT day was OK and you weren't too knackered. Hope it's a better night tonight. You too, Goat.

Glad you got a break this am Amey. Hope you have a better night, as well. It is, as Susie said, soul destroying sometimes.

Susie, hope your DP came home with something lovely tonightSmile Waterbabies sounds amazing. We haven't done that but we do take her swimming; both Missmarbles and DD1 love it.

Stitch do your guinea pigs run around your house? We have guinea pigs and DD1 would love that, they come in sometimes but they live mainly outside.

Sorry your Valentine's meal didn't go to plan, Brain, but glad your night turned out to be not too bad.

On laptop so epic postGrin, and will probably be too wrecked to post later, although I do try to read.

BrainGoneAwol · 15/02/2013 22:59

Thanks... It seems crazy to need to be sorting his nursery already for September!

I second the name checking. I can barely remember what I wrote, let alone anyone else !

First wake here for some unknown reason. Babybrain woke yelling I think and went into full blown yelling. Hope that's the end of it.

Bit cold here. Trying out a new heating controller. Hope it works.

Massive feed foe babybrain. Hope this one lasts longer!

MissingMyMarbles · 15/02/2013 23:30

Haha Brain : "I can barely remember what I wrote, let alone anyone else" - that's me normally Grin I only managed a long post tonight because have laptop and phone next to me. I often feel bad because other people manage to name-check so well.

Did first feed mid-post last time at 10.30, so didn't make it 4 hours but am hopeful still that it was the settler for the night. I am so optimistic at this time of night, so despondent in the middle of the night when I'm up for the gazillionth time and then in the morning, it doesn't feel so bad. She seems to be self-settling better though. Have just heard a shout out but that was it.....

Waves to everyone and those not named Wink

MrsNPattz · 16/02/2013 02:57

First feed here - I knew the sleeping through wouldn't last Sad never mind, it was a good run while it lasted lol

Glad work went well Funch!

Your bed sounds wonderful Pink!

Mum is coming today - can't wait to see her. And our niece is 1 so little man has his first party Grin

BrainGoneAwol · 16/02/2013 02:58

Agree marbles. I often feel bad that my posts seem very much about me, but by the time I've scrolled up and down on my tiny phone screen I've forgotten everything or at least who it related to!

Babybrain is being very odd. We're on the third wake so far Sad. Feed at 7, bed at 8, feed 10.30, dp settled (with much persuasion!) at 1.30, feed at 2.30...
He's got a stinking cold which isn't helping Sad, but I think he has realised that me picking him up from my lap means he's going into his bed and he's objecting.

Either that or the sleeplessness is because he's reached the enormous developmental milestone of being able to suck his toes while I was changing him for bed last night Grin

BrainGoneAwol · 16/02/2013 03:16

Forgot to add, there's pear and sultana cake for anyone that wants a sugar fix. Smile

larlemucker · 16/02/2013 03:30

brain cake sounds fab, sugar fix always required here!!
I am exactly the same with the name checking, on the proper site tonight so I can scroll but can't scroll on app and my memory is shot!!
Hello to monster.

amey I hope you're having a better night

Hair dressers was fab expensive and baby larle slept for his auntie. He has been sleeping a lot the last few days, don't know if that's a result of the growth spurt.

Is it sad that I booked a nursery place a year in advance!??

Right come dine had finished, baby larle asleep so going to attempt transfer. Tonight he has had expressed milk instead of formula so hoping he still sleeps ok.

larlemucker · 16/02/2013 03:47

Well that has to be the most unsuccessful transfer ever Hmm

jemima86 · 16/02/2013 04:07

Have finally caught up on here and now she is sleeping.
She's started having a really short feed for the 3am session and she went 4hours between feeds tonight, amazing for her! Shame she didn't sleep that long finally when down about 1am tonight.

larle total understand being proud of the expressing, it can feel like such a waste of times sometimes. I find first thing and after a shower are good times to get a lot. I've also been told hot flannels or a hot water bottle work well.

Hope there is some sleeping going on now for all of you!

Welcome monster

Ameybee · 16/02/2013 05:23

Well amazingly baby bee slept from 1130 till now! This is huge progress for us! I put him in his own room for first time at 7 last night, put a cd of lullabies on to drown out noise of his sister resettled him once at 45 min intruder then DH fed him at 1130, he woke briefly at 1 and I put him in cot in our room where he immediately settled. Hoping its the start of better things!

Larle - it is fenugreek for increasing supply, you take it until you smell of maple syrup apparently!

Hoping I can get at least another hour after this bottle always want more ! Xx

BrainGoneAwol · 16/02/2013 05:42

larle hope transfer finally worked. Well done on getting some 'you' time with a haircut. Smile
Booking a nursery sounds very sensible to me!

amey, jemima hope the good sleep continues

Babybrain appears to have now decided that 5.30 is morning. Hmm I came through to feed him and he's not interested at all. All he wants to do is play with my hair and blow raspberries! Right. Tried feeding him with a muslin over his head but he just wriggles and pulls at it til it is off. This is definitely not morning time!

larlemucker · 16/02/2013 05:56

amey and jemima glad you've has better nights, we're back to waking every hour after first feed so no sleep since 2.30 Hmm

Can I not just eat maple syrup till I smell of it??

BrainGoneAwol · 16/02/2013 06:08

Lost last post, but it seems the problem was he needed to poo...
Would it be cruel to never give him solids because his poo gets so smelly?! Grin

Have wrestled him into a feeding position and now he seems to be settling with the help of white noise. Not overly hopeful, but worth a try.

We're off swimming later today. once I have deforested my legs... I wonder if I could sell it for a wig it's so long

BrainGoneAwol · 16/02/2013 06:10

larle with waffles, icecream and chocolate sauce!

MissingMyMarbles · 16/02/2013 06:19

Unbelievable! A four hour stretch. Four hours!! I've been doing NCSS, quite loosely as I felt we already were doing quite a bit if what she suggested. I think it mainly gave me confidence that I wasn't just being too soft. Anyway, I kept a diary last night since bedtime. Lots of settling at the beginning of the night but not much feeding, and the settling didn't take long at all, so I think we just might be getting somewhere, perhaps even done self-settling going on.

MrsNPattz · 16/02/2013 06:56

Another feed here and I think it's up time, too early when he's woken up for a feed in the night!

So glad there have been some better nights!

MrsNPattz · 16/02/2013 06:59

Larle I booked a nursery a year in advance too, while I was still pregnant Blush

Ameybee · 16/02/2013 08:27

Same here with nursery - baby bee booked in at same one as DD from 11 weeks preg (ofsted report outstanding & was booked up for a year!)!

My hair is falling out loads! It didn't fall out when I first had him, but since I stopped bf I'm malting! Shower is blocked everyday and having to Hoover loads, its very annoying! X

MrsNPattz · 16/02/2013 09:14

Amey my hair is the same! It's just single strands that comes out but it's everywhere - even in little man's nappy!!

BrainGoneAwol · 16/02/2013 09:54

Well dp took babybrain upstairs (our house is upside down) at just after 7, so I've just had a wonderful extra 2 hours Smile

Hilarious conversation in the night with dp:
Me : can you see to ds
Dp: grunt
Me : it's only been two hours since the last feed so he's not hungry and I need some sleep.
Dp: can't you just not feed him?
Me: !! ...No, I need some sleep
Dp: oh.
Me : can you see to him please. by this point ds is really crying
Dp: I thought he didn't need food
Me: he doesn't and I need to sleep, can you go
Dp: I don't understand but I'll go if you like
Me: !!

Literally took 5 mins to settle ds, which is unheard of. Took longer to get dp out of bed!

I did get an apology this morning and a defense of being very asleep.
It's only recently that I've been asking dp to help and sometimes I do wonder if it's worth it. Hmm

BrainGoneAwol · 16/02/2013 10:03

And why is it only head hair that falls out? It might actually be helpful if other places de-haired themselves Grin

MissingMyMarbles · 16/02/2013 10:19

Oh Brain! That happens in our house frequently! Takes longer to get him out of bed that me to get back in it, having already been to settle Missmarbles!! And he's so grumpy if I have to poke him that hard Grin

funchum8am · 16/02/2013 12:02

Hi all, another slightly dodgy night for us but have stopped posting at night as it somehow stops me sleeping in between wake ups! She slept 7-1:30 then fed, which is great, then woke for a couple of minutes' grizzlies about every hour but fell asleep each time with no help from us or with us putting Ewan on. Then fed again at 4:30 then more hourly yelling but more persistent so a bit more visiting for reassurance needed. But we now have a night time that lasts 7 to 7 and rarely have to get her up at 4/5am any more which is great.

Babyfunch has been incredibly loud and squealy all morning, I hope that is only a brief phase as it is quite a piercing squeak she has got going there!

Marbles it sounds like you are getting there! Fingers crossed for steady progress from here on in!

Mrsn sorry the long nights didn't last forever but at least you knew to treasure it while it lasted Smile

Yes to the pear and sultana cake please!

Susieloo · 16/02/2013 13:00

Hello everyone

I'm also in awe of all the name checking and tend to write me me me posts which is what I'm doing now-dp on duty last night and it was a good night-that's all I'm saying for fear of the jinx .....

Dp arrived home with two bottles of Viognier and a red rosé and a card so I am somewhat mollified. I am going to stay at my friends tonight which I'm half excited about and half feeling stressed and guilty about, dp is quite capable of looking after babyloo and dss on his own I just can't bear the thought of babyloo wanting me and me not being there, I'm sure he won't be remotely bothered, he never is when he goes to my mums for the day, think its just because its overnight, I am v looking forward to going to the pub though and catching up with my friend and I'm hoping after a couple of drinks I'll chill out.

Ramble over and once again apologies not to name check - this thread moves so fast!! Have good nights everyone Smile
