Glad things are improving at night funch. And small - a 2 hour nap! Jealous!!

DH did night duty from 1am last night so I got a few hours uninterrupted although I kept waking to hearing DS! Having some afternoon snuggles with my boy now. DH is out tonight - I'm very worried he will roll in at 4am hammered! Oh well guess I've got to let him have his freedom! X

MrsNPattz · 07/02/2013 17:52

Blurgh feeling rotten, swollen and sore glands! How can I not give it to little man?? Hubby is out tonight too Amey - again!! And he's out tomorrow but tonight it's a work team building night and tomorrow it's to have a drink with his BIL to be before his wedding on Sat. I feel resentful even though I don't want to go out - how does that work??

Susieloo · 07/02/2013 17:53

Hello everyone, babyloo did another full night last night with the odd minor grumble but he was quite happy with his muslin and definitely didn't want feeding, I daren't mention graduation in case I jinx it.........

Have good nights everyone Smile

Ameybee · 07/02/2013 18:48

Know what you mean mrsn! I want to go out but not really! And I'd like to be 2 stone lighter! Really struggling with this dieting lark :( I've got no willpower & am knackered all the time. How am I ever going to shift it? I'm even considering slim fast!! I might get some veggies Tomo and make some healthy soups or something. Fed up of eating toast or pasta n sauce for every meal because we are too tired to cook. sorry I whinge far too much about being fat & should just get off my fat arse and do something about it

Well done babyloo! Envy but there's hope for us yet! How old is he now susie?
Xx

Smallgreenone · 07/02/2013 19:53

Well done baby loo!! I'm so jealous! Do you think its because he's on proper food now susie? DH is away tonight so I'm on my own and going to bed now! I actually quite like being on my own as baby small and I get the bed to ourselves and I only have to deal with one snorer! See you all later

Susieloo · 07/02/2013 19:59

I think it's really hard to think about losing weight when your so tired amey, always has been for me. Babyloo will be seven months on Sunday.

I've come to bed in case his cold keeps him up, he's snoring so loudly I'm not sure I'll be able to sleep, I disinfected all of his toys today in boiling water and then sprayed with them dettol-no idea if that's normal or I'm being a bit precious!!

larlemucker · 07/02/2013 22:54

Well done baby loo.
amey I too need to lose weight, I'm doing a reading at my cousins wedding in April and don't want to stand up infront of everyone looking like a fat cow!! I've never really been slim but I have piled it on since mum passed and the pregnancy hasn't helped or the diet of chocolate biscuits. Now I've passed my 6 week check I'm starting ww and Pilates.
Baby larle was so good at drs, didn't cry once. Was very proud!!
Just hoping that all the noise he is making now means he is dreaming and not that he is awake!!
Sleepy dust to everyone

Susieloo · 07/02/2013 23:58

Babyloo woke himself up being snuffly so we are on first feed of the night, knew I'd jinx it talking about graduating.......

MrsNPattz · 08/02/2013 00:29

First feed here, sniff sniff, cough cough Sad

The thread is so quiet at the moment!

Amey, you will get there in your own time! I'm finding it really difficult as I'm so hungry all the time, but it's the feeling of being in control and eating better that's making me stick to it at the moment

Anyone whether I can take anything other than paracetamol while I'm breast feeding?

MissingMyMarbles · 08/02/2013 00:47

First feed around 11, I would think, and I'm still up after numerous transfer fails and attempting to settle in the cot.......

BrainGoneAwol · 08/02/2013 01:03

Hi all
Been struggling the last few nights with feeling knackered and a bit crap, so haven't been on here much. Second tooth has finally broken through so there has been a bit less wailing. Though babybrain has still woken for first feed after 2.5 hours. Ho hum.

Taken me ages to catch up on the thread so not doing lots of name checking as it'd take hours! But congrats on better sleeping susie. Well done on the ww mrsm and the swimming sounds great hairy legs ignored and everything! Hope the cold isn't getting worse. funch I think we all understand. My one attempt at cc had me in tears and babybrain screamed inconsolably (sweating etc) for 40mins so I said I'd never do it again. I really hope it works for you.

Attempting transfer. Sorry to those I've left out waves.
Disclaimer: I take no responsibility for getting names and events mixed up Wink

BrainGoneAwol · 08/02/2013 01:10

Oh and mrsn nhs says ibuprofen is fine but :

If you?re thinking about taking a combined cough or cold remedy, read the patient information that comes with the medicine to see what ingredients it contains. Products sold to treat coughs and colds usually contain several ingredients, and some may not be safe to take while you?re breastfeeding. You need to consider each ingredient separately to decide whether the remedy is safe.Always follow the recommended dosage instructions. For example, some remedies may also contain paracetamol. When taken in addition to regular paracetamol, this can mean you exceed the recommended dose. The following medicines should not be taken while you?re breastfeeding, either on their own or in any medicines that contain them:aspirin: a painkiller codeine: a painkiller phenylephrine: a decongestant (for blocked noses) found in some cold medicines phenylpropanolamine: a decongestant found in some cold medicinesguaifenesin: an expectorant (to bring up phlegm) found in some cough medicines any ingredient that produces drowsiness: such as some antihistamines that may be found in decongestants - for example, diphenhydramine

Sorry about weird formatting. Basically it says steaming and hot honey and lemon is best.

Ameybee · 08/02/2013 02:31

First feed since 9 here although he woke up & ended up in bed with me at 12 heard DH get in at 1230 - this is early for him so I'm impressed!

Mrsn you'll be fine with ibuprofen, I got given that and codeine after having 3rd deg tear and was bf then. Hope you feel better soon, is rubbish feeling so rough when you can't just curl up!

Been having the weirdest dreams tonight! X

funchum8am · 08/02/2013 03:05

First feed here!!! about 2 hours later than normal! But we did have jabs today so may be that rather than a real sleep improvement. A few wails around midnight but not enough to make me go in, and now feeding. Feel a lot better rested, though I have a sore eye and a really sore throat suddenly, just as I thought my cold had gone Sad . I hope I am not going to feel rotten this weekend for babyfunch's baptism and related family get-togethers.

susie hopefully it is just a one off bad night due to poorliness and you can graduate really soon, though we will miss you!
amey I have not been slimmer than a 16 for years but would love to be a 14. Not happening at the mo despite vaguely sensible eating, and bfing. V annoying but I am at least used to feeling fat, and at least having a baby is an excuse of sorts begins steady progress towards lifelong obesity problem

It is quiet on here recently isn't it? Hope that is down to good sleep in most cases. Hello to anyone too tired to post!

mrsn get well soon Sad

StitchAteMySleep · 08/02/2013 03:24

First feed here too and another poo!

Larle hope you get some sleep soon.

Well done to babyloo, can you please do some baby whispering to your little friends on this thread?

MrsN I always drink hot water with juice of half a lemon, bung honey, cloves, ginger, cinnamon stick, whole garlic clove, chilli slice in there and steep for 5 mins before drinking. Glycerine & Honey for tickly cough/sore throat.

Yay for tooth babybrain, hope sleep settles down now brain.

Hope the lightshow works marbles.

One step at a time Amey, I have cut sugar out of my tea, now just to stop the cake and biscuits Grin

Ah surreptitious pumping in cupboards, that takes me back. Have pm'ed you.

Right attempt at transfer number 3.

larlemucker · 08/02/2013 03:28

Morning all, first feed here since grizzley transfer at half 11, feel quite refreshed!!
Have turned down radiator in bedroom, don't know if that's helping with sleeping.
Sorry not to name check but batt going, hope you're all sleeping

Smallgreenone · 08/02/2013 03:46

Baby small is very snuffly and keeps waking due to blocked nose. Poor little guy. He's also now doing his late night chat show! I'm very tired. Quiet on here so hope that means sleep for most.

BrainGoneAwol · 08/02/2013 04:09

Poor baby small. Colds are so hard on them. Sad

Third wake here. Settled without a feed at 2.30, but he woke again at 3.30 & trying to do the same again now. He has just done a big fart so hoping that was the problem. He's still incredibly gurgly and fidgety though. Maybe it was a poo and he's uncomfy. But I don't want to wake I'm unnecessarily... Gah. Dilemma. Going to be a bad mother and leave it as he'll wake again if it is

Oops. Hit preview and now I can't scroll up to see other posts. Hope everyone else is getting sleep.

StitchAteMySleep · 08/02/2013 04:41

Poor baby small, have you raised the cot end small?

Third transfer attempt failed spectacularly. Stitch decided to get up, crawl about our bed, kick, hit, pull hair and have a good laugh about it all. I have been awake for two hours and counting including feed time. After saying to me that I shouldn't complain about being tired all the time, because I don't express milk so that he can share night feeds last night, DH got up for stitch after last transfer fail, brought her into our bed, but has then gone back to sleep Angry. That is why I don't bother, he doesn't wake up if she cries generally anyway.

StitchAteMySleep · 08/02/2013 05:29

Still up. She has fed again, pooed again.

I ended up putting dd1 in with her dad and putting stitch in her cot with the lightshow on.

She danced about for a bit, but looks like she is going to sleep now (feeding again).

I am hoping dd1 Sleeps late this morning so I can finally get some sleep.

BrainGoneAwol · 08/02/2013 06:07

stitch poor you! I hope you are finally getting some sleep and dd1 gives you a lie-in.
It's amazing what DH/DPs can sleep through, safe in the knowledge that we'll wake up if they don't Sad

Hopefully babybrain will go back to sleep after this feed... Dropping ugh

BrainGoneAwol · 08/02/2013 06:47

Meh. Transfer fail. Lots if wriggling.
Nappy change later we are trying again. Desperate for just a little more sleep. Babybrain seems to have other ideas since he's feeding with his eyes wide open Hmm

Hope the silence is a good sign for everyone else and doesn't mean you are up and busy...

funchum8am · 08/02/2013 07:28

stitch brain small so sorry to hear of such bad nights. I hope they nap well for you so you can catch up on a snooze today.

I feel a bit guilty saying we only had to get up the once in the night! She slept 6:45 to 6:15 with some mild grizzling for a few minutes around midnight and one feed 2:50-3:30, then DH got up with her at 6:15 Shock. Starting to dare to believe....

MrsNPattz · 08/02/2013 07:28

Thank you for all of the advice! Up for the day here as we have baby group so no point going back to sleep - do you think I'm still ok to go? I have hand gel in my bag so was just going to use that loads.

GoatBongosAnonymous · 08/02/2013 07:59

Hello everyone. Sorry for having neglected you all of late - had a truly horrible, horrible week Sad on several fronts, and the sleep deprivation didn't help. Kid has been sleeping well until about 2:30 in the morning, then either staying awake or waking every 20 mins or so. Graciously deigns to have half an hour or so at 7 am, just enough time for me to sort bottles etc for the day. HOWEVER! Last night was better, and we made it to 5 am with three previous wakings before he decided to go for his circus routine. I feel like I can actually function today. Fingers crossed...
There has been so much going on in the thread that I don't have a hope of name checking, so waves to everyone and vows to keep up better. Smile
