Thanks goat I will - I'm not listening to advice I don't like lol glad you managed to eat with DH! Lovely Smile

I had a 2 hour nap this afternoon thanks to my lovely mum and hubby, have come upstairs now and little man is asleep, but I'm just watching the first episode of Downton Abbey on my iPad before I try and sleep - I'm a Downton virgin!

Pleeaaaasseeee let me (and us all!) have a better night Blush

mrsn totally see where you are coming from, I carried on until I reached a point where I wasn't happy & was too tired to continue (but we were getting much shorter stretches) but if you're happy then just ignore what everyone else says. It certainly won't be a miracle cure anyway - think we are a long way off sleeping through the night but it has made the nights more consistent for us - which is something I found difficult juggling a toddler too & means DH can take over which really helped!

small bet you will miss your friend, I had one of my best friends move to auz last year then the other to NZ and lovely SIL to Sweden! All in one year - I miss them all loads. Just spoken to my friend in NZ, I miss her so much! How are you going with bottles by the way?

My boobs miraculously re filled today so I think expressing once a day for last 3 days is helping Grin means I'm still doing the morning feed which I'm so happy with & he's still having one bottle of ebm too! Not doing middle of night feed - he likes his bottle then! He's been so giggly and happy today!
Xxx

MrsNPattz · 30/12/2012 21:24

Oh I forgot I had a question - those who breast feed, do you drink diet coke? I'm really craving one but am worried about the caffeine!

Ps, little man woke up Blush

Just about to transfer... Babybrain suddenly had a really good, happy, smiley day today. Just when I was thinking we'd have to take him to the gp with being sick/constant crying etc. He's slept loads and poo'd far more than usual so back to wondering if he was either a bit unwell it teething really kicking in. Poor little one.

First feed has gone well though.

mrsn I don't drink coke, but I have had the odd tea or coffee during the day with no adverse affects. Not sure about bedtime though. I think I'd be bouncing off the walls. No idea what it would do to Babybrain.

funchum8am · 30/12/2012 22:54

Nice one goat glad you got some evening time with DH.

mrsn I have the odd diet coke. I believe it has less caffeine than coffee and I certainly drink that! But be warned I am quite bad, I also drink wine probably more often than I should so may not be the best person to listen to! Grin

We tend to get feeds at 6, 11, 3, 4.30 and then refusal to go back to sleep here. We were up and all chirpy and smiling at 4 this morning....well babyfunch was, DH and I were up but neither chirpy nor smily! However DH took over, wonderful man that he is, and I got a lie in til 9.30. Babyfunch also napped 7:30 to 9:30 am too so maybe she is realising that 4am is not actually time to get up!

Smallgreenone · 30/12/2012 22:55

First feed. Bad sign.
That's tough amey three in one year. We're doing ok with ebm in bottles but need to crack on a bit harder with formula as have up as I thought it was unsettling him. Need to find one that suits him. He definitely likes the speed of delivery from the bottle!
Have come to bed with him now having turfed the dog off the clean washing which he thought was his new bed Confused we have guests tomorrow and it was their sheets- hope they won't mind a few dog hairs on their pillow cases!! Grin

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 30/12/2012 23:34

Hello. I fell off this thread for a few weeks. I'm back now as been regularly falling asleep at night feeds.

DS is now almost 9 weeks. He is breastfed still after a very shaky start. He is currently falling asleep beside Ewan, the magic dream sheep. We are on night two of using him and so far so good. I'm expecting a bad night ad DS hasn't fed as much as I'd like tonight so no doubt will be up all night!!

Hope everyone is doing ok

Susieloo · 30/12/2012 23:38

1st feed of the night so not bad going and his nose is at least letting him get some rest, can't believe it's New Year's Eve tomorrow!! I've got no chance of staying up for it!! Might treat myself to a middle of the night baileys if I've just done first feed.

I'm with fun, I drink wine more than I should and more of it than i should and I drink coffee and tea and I do love a cold glass of full fat coke and our little co-op that we pop to always has a deal on so I drink it quite a lot too!!

HeffalumpsAndWoozles · 31/12/2012 00:42

Just checking in to say goodnight all. We're back home now, did the journey in a record 3hrs 59mins according to the car, no idea how as its the same journey we always do but somehow we saved 20mins somewhere tonight :)

mrsn I'm with funch and susie, I love an ice cold fat coke and can't function without a morning coffee or three, also have a glass or two of wine some evenings too as I think the amount that actually passes through to your milk is negligible if you are only drinking moderate amounts. That said I do try and avoid caffeinated drinks after 4pm ish just in case.

Hoping for good nights all round xx

Macaroons · 31/12/2012 00:59

Hope everyone is having a good night. We went out for lunch today and had visitors coming round for dinner, so DS nap time is all over the place: napped at 1 and 6... Then went to bed at around 9. Woke him up at 11.30 for late feed, he didn't look very pleased (like why did you wake me???) but was then fully awake and very hyper. He was still kicking around when we put him down 5 min ago. Trying to feed him abit more now hoping that he will finally get sleepy. Almost 1 now Shock

funchum8am · 31/12/2012 01:15

Glad I am not alone with the liberal liquid intake Grin

First feed here - she has slept 6 hours Smile though o have had less than 2 as I couldn't drop off Sad

Welcome back izzy and congratulations on cracking bfing!

Susieloo · 31/12/2012 03:08

2nd feed of the night and hoping for a sleep until 6-7 now hahahahahahahaha!!!! Rather than the dreaded 5 something slot. Windy here tonight.

BrainGoneAwol · 31/12/2012 03:30

Second feed here. How exciting is that?! 5.5 hours since babybrain's last feed!

Depressingly dp woke me at 12.30 because babybrain was making small noises via the monitor. I dutifully get up and come next door assuming he needs a feed. No... It's just sleepy noises. Nice to go straight back to bed but Sad to have been woken. Dp very apologetic.

Still, ds has just had a monster feed because he's gone so long, so hoping this might see him through for a while. Not holding out hope that this is anything but a one-off and he'll be back to lots of wakes tomorrow, too disappointing otherwise!

Quite liking the idea of a midnight drink tomorrow. Might join babybrain in a second feed with a sloe gin Grin

Hello izzy. Know what you mean about falling asleep... I had a permanent crick in my neck for weeks from slumping sideways Shock

Oh. Nice cold drink. Would kill for one right now... Except I'd be up weeing in half an hour. Don't seem to quite have the bladder control I used to Blush

Smallgreenone · 31/12/2012 03:57

Baby small has a cough Sad he keeps waking himself up with it poor little chap.
I always have a glass of wine too and cups of tea. Going to try and stay up tonight but feeling pretty shattered at the moment so will probably not last. Got friends coming with a ds six weeks younger than baby small bet he sleeps through!!!

Ameybee · 31/12/2012 04:58

Crap night here! He's been shuffling about n crying a bit, think its wind. He's been in bed with me since 3, but no solid chunks of sleep! DH snoring away perched on the edge of the bed, hope he lets me stay in bed in morning, ill never make it out for new year otherwise! X

MrsNPattz · 31/12/2012 06:54

Wow - first feed here!! He went down properly at quarter to 11, then woke me at half 1 and I thought oh no! But it was just him chewing his hands in his sleep! I had a thought last night that the travel cot he's sleeping in might be uncomfortable so hubby put a towel under the sheet to make it softer - not sure if it's coincidence but thank god for 5 hours sleep!!

Yey for diet coke - that can be my new year treat today and maybe it will keep me up until midnight Grin I don't mean to sound like a goody two shoes but I just worry a lot Blush

amey really glad you are having more success with a bottle, but sorry for your bad night!

Happy NYE everyone Smile

OP posts:
Susieloo · 31/12/2012 06:55

Not a bad night really, up for the day now and we are having a day at home although might pop to co-op for some nice nibbly things for later and see what champagne offers they have.

Have a good day allSmile

StuntNun · 31/12/2012 07:11

Eight or nine feeds last night so we're definitely in the six-week growth spurt. Sorry I can't keep up with all your news today.

MrsNPattz · 31/12/2012 07:20

Ok so little man obviously decided I had had it too easy last night so proceeded to throw up the entire contents of his stomach all over himself, me and the bed Blush

OP posts:
BrainGoneAwol · 31/12/2012 07:50

Second feed 7.15! Trying not to get my hopes up that babybrain has finally decided to sleep for longer.

mrsn poor you two. Not a good start to the morning.
stuntnun that's no fun at all. Sounds like a growth spurt. Hope it doesn't go on too long. Babybrain's tend to last anything from 3 days to 1.5 weeks (though he was also ill for that one which confused things.

Hope you all have good nye. Off shopping today for clothes because I still can't get into most of my pre-preg trousers Blush

funchum8am · 31/12/2012 08:22

Babyfunch has a horrible chesty cough so from about 2am I ended up letting her sleep on me til 4.30. When she was in her crib it just kept us awake Sad DH took her downstairs when she woke for the day at 4:30 and only just brought her back for a feed so she has gone nearly 4 hours awake Shock

We are off to friends in Essex for new year - they are amazing hosts and they have a new kitchen to try out on us. I aim to stay up til midnight but not sure anyone else will!!

Goatbongohohoandjinglejingle · 31/12/2012 08:40

My post disappeared!
stunt that is Xmas Shock your poor thing. Hope you get some sleep today. We had five which I thought was pretty bad but pales in comparison!

Hope everyone enjoys nye, either asleep or willingly awake!

smicha · 31/12/2012 09:03

Mini smich is back to one wake between 8 and 7, which is good but I won't get my hopes up for it lasting!

mrsn I tend to avoid caffeine as, it may just be coincidence, but I'm sure ds sleeps worse when I've had some! DH tells me I'm just being paranoid and that it is coincidence! I didn't drink coffee or coke much anyway. I do have one or two teas a day then move onto decaff in the afternoon. I'm no saint though and indulge in a glass or two of wine when I fancy it too (which has been a bit too often over Christmas!) Champagne currently chilling for tonight! Got Dsis and her bf coming today so I'd better get cooking! I plan to stay up til midnight, but expect I'll be in bed by 12.01 Grin

Have a good one and here's to a sleep filled 2013!

Susieloo · 31/12/2012 09:38

Anyone else's baby sleep more when they have a cold? Babyloo didn't get up until 6.20 and has been asleep in his chair for well over an hour which is very unusual.

StuntNun · 31/12/2012 10:50

Oh no MrsN that's awful having to change bedding in the middle of the night.
