And funch sorry you are struggling with bottles :( once baby bee did take one I felt we needed to keep giving one every feed to keep momentum. I'm sure you've tried everything. I did leave the house (which was easier than sitting upstairs) & left DH to it. The first time he took it he wasn't starving & DH stood swaying him in kitchen with it in his mouth! Its really hard tho. You could try with cup maybe? Mam do one from 4 months. My friend used maple syrup on the teat which worked! I've heard infacol on teat can too as is sweet!
Getting up to make bottles in night is ball ache tho!!

We are going to a family friendly party at local school hall, DD will love it as loads of friends from nursery going. Thought tonight tho she doesn't have a party dress she's not wearing the god awful red leopard print one so I might nip out Tomo & see if I can get something with her! X

HeffalumpsAndWoozles · 29/12/2012 23:24

I am foolishly hoping this may be last post before bedtime. Babylump has been rocked to sleep in her car seat in the darkened dining room as PIL's living room is tiny and I think the tv and Christmas lights were keeping her awake even though she was exhausted. I've had to re-rock a few times but its been a while now so will be attempting transfer to upstairs soon. DD1 was a monkey again tonight but at least no stripping this time. You're right stunt there is definitely a phase occurring, she's just learnt how to undo buttons and the joy of being able to free one's bottom on a whim so is taking every opportunity to practice this valuable new life skill. Hmm

Lol goat we aim to please! When does buggy fit start, I think I've doubled in size since last week following Christmases number one and two so I'm definitely up for it. funch I'm super impressed at you, and you've inspired me to start the programme next week once we're back home. Can someone kick me if I don't please?!

Right, transfer time. Here we go...

MrsNPattz · 30/12/2012 01:22

First feed here - I don't know where all of these early feeds have come from Sad means I've had less than 3 hours again. Feeling like I'm starting to need a long stretch to feel a bit more like myself. At least I'm at mum and dad's so have more help in the day. Will try and nap in the afternoon.

amey naps here are still all over the place!

OP posts:
funchum8am · 30/12/2012 02:39

amey naps are suddenly starting to form a pattern here - half to one hour between 8 and 10, half to one hour around 1, then a long one from about 3 after which we have to wake her and bath her usually around 5. After that it is a struggle to keep her awake so bedtime is around 6.30, though we managed 6.45 today.

Second feed here after first at 0045. I think transfers will be a problem now as she has a cold but here goes....

I do recommend the couch to 5k. They have been clever as they have made it so easy you feel like you are quite the athlete for not finding it hard, ans you don't dread doing it again!

BrainGoneAwol · 30/12/2012 02:48

On first feed after successfully getting babybrain to bed at 12.00 last night.

House is a tad chilly after having the heating off while away over Christmas which didn't help much.

I'm put to shame by all your fitness/weight loss resolutions. I'm planning to live vicariously through whoever manages it Grin

Susieloo · 30/12/2012 03:31

3 hours since last feed but I've been awake for most of it because he's snoring his nose is so bunged up, dp is also snoring but that's wine induced!! Hope this cold isn't going to last to long, it's the worst he's ever been and I just wish he could blow his nose!! He's sneezing a lot but that doesn't seem to clear it.

Hoping he will go through until 7 but not hopeful!

MrsNPattz · 30/12/2012 05:24

Second feed so another 3 hours, so sleepy!

OP posts:
HeffalumpsAndWoozles · 30/12/2012 05:36

2nd feed here. We managed successful transfer at about half 11 last night, feed at 2am and then now so not too bad. Eyes stinging though really hope we get a lie in today.

Going home tonight. E've had a lovely time but I'm looking forward to home as the girls have been such hard work at bedtimes here. I did mention last night that all the sugary crap they keep 'treating' DD1 with is not helping bit whether the hint hit through I don't know.

Transfer imminent.

BrainGoneAwol · 30/12/2012 05:58

Next feed... So far the move to being in his own room hasn't changed anything for babybrain. Only me that's affected as it's blimin' cold.

How long do your little 'uns go between sleeps? Seems 2.5 hours is the standard for me.

Also does anyone else find their phone to be very aggressive in predictive text? So often I find it is trying to replace a perfectly good word with another wrong one. Mine also insists on replacing 'will' with 'Will'. I think it has a royalty obsession Shock

BrainGoneAwol · 30/12/2012 06:00

Oh should clarify that it's 2.5 hours for me, so 3-3.5 hours for him allowing for settling and transfer time Hmm

MissingMyBaubles · 30/12/2012 06:37

So tired this morning Xmas Sad Was supposed to have lie in yesterday morning but couldn't get back to sleep after a feed despite Missmarbles, DD1 and DH all sleeping. Hopefully this morning.......

Had family party last night which was lovely but late. Missmarbles went to bed at 6.45 but fed at 9.15, 12.15, 3.30, 4.40 and 6.20. That's FIVE overnight feeds and they're proper feeds as well. I wonder if its because she is messing around at daytime milk feeds due to being so nosy and there being so much going on?? When us she going to sleep through Xmas Confused

MrsNPattz · 30/12/2012 07:25

A lousy half an hour and we are up again, his face is so cute that I can't be mad, but I just want more sleep Blush

Goatbongohohoandjinglejingle · 30/12/2012 07:29

Four feeds last night.
FOUR FEEDS!!!

That is all.

HeffalumpsAndWoozles · 30/12/2012 07:53

I think we're up :(

brain I see to have a pho e that insisted on replacing my name with 'ugly' every time. Bit mean of it I though, there was no need to get personal...!

I feel like I've barely slept, can't believe its morning and I have to get up and function. Off to make coffee, have a nice day all :)

StuntNun · 30/12/2012 08:23

Seems like there was a baby pact for frequent feeds last night. I lost count but I'm hoping it's a growth spurt and therefore temporary. I am annoyed at DH for sticking the dummy in when J wanted a nappy change.

Macaroons · 30/12/2012 09:12

DS went to bed at 8, woke him at 11.30 for last feed, he woke again at 2 but settled without feeding, then woke at 4 for a feed, then at 7.15. Was hoping that a 16 week old baby would sleep through the night already Hmm

Re nap time, mines all irregular. He sort of has a short nap in the late morning, then a longer one at around 4pm - I thought the 4pm one is too close to bed time, so he's exhausted most afternoon, and not so tired when it comes to bed time, but I can't get him to nap sooner (say at 2pm)

BrainGoneAwol · 30/12/2012 09:34

macaroons that sounds like my boy. Everyone else's that I know has learned to sleep much longer. Plus I know he can do it because he once slept for 7.5 hours. I felt awful though; I think my body tried to collapse in relief!!

MrsNPattz · 30/12/2012 11:07

Brain and macaroons I'm wondering if it's a growth spurt or 4 month sleep regression (my little boy is 15 weeks today)?

OP posts:
BrainGoneAwol · 30/12/2012 16:03

Maybe so mrsn, babybrain has his at 15.5 weeks and it lasted a week and a half. Then he did feeds at 9, 2 and 7 but that only lasted three days until back to the current cycle. Sadly I can't now hope this is also due to a growth spurt Sad

Susieloo · 30/12/2012 18:23

Very, very snotty baby, very tired me, very long night ahead.....

Smallgreenone · 30/12/2012 18:35

Hi all, just on bedtime feed. I had my night out last night and am shattered today. I cried when I left baby small and really missed him. I didnt even sleep well as think I am conditioned to waking up constantly Sad
I did have a lovely time though but also sad as one of my best friends is moving to oz so it will be a very long time before I see her again.
Baby small hasn't fed well and is now asleep so expect I will be back soon. See you all later

MrsNPattz · 30/12/2012 19:17

My mum just said I might have to start mixed feeding if he carries on waking so much through the night, it made me really sad and I'm not doing that. As long as he is gaining weight ok I'm happy to carry on. Won't get weight til week after next so hope he has put on a good amount!

OP posts:
Goatbongohohoandjinglejingle · 30/12/2012 19:18

Shhhh... I think he is asleep.
Do I dare go downstairs and try and have dinner at the same time as DH (novel)?

Goatbongohohoandjinglejingle · 30/12/2012 19:21

mrsn stick to your guns. Sleeping through the night isn't the holy grail of parenting, although it sometimes seems that way! I refused to go to happy baby milk, would rather wake through tonight a bit longer than risk tummy problems.

Goatbongohohoandjinglejingle · 30/12/2012 19:59

Hey, it worked! For the first time in ages, DH and I ate at the same time.

Thank you Mr Bach for babysitting Xmas Smile
