We are putting the Moses basket in the big cot tonight to start getting him used to it as he will be too big for the basket soon!!

Bed time not going well so far.......

I think that happens with most babies mrsn-particularly when they go to men because I think they like being held by someone so much bigger than they are!! I also find that sometimes when they go to someone else it just distracts them from what was bothering them. I know it's easy to say though and can still hurt.

We are on last feed before bed, I've been trying to push bedtime back by fifteen minutes but its not happening, he's so tired I can't do it, will aim for five minutes at a time over the next week.

Hope everyone has had a good day, we are opening my present from db and sil tonight, lovely bottle of champagne and dp bought me the box set of Entourage so we are going to watch a couple of episodes and plough through the mountains of cheese I've bought and been given as gifts from people who know me too well!! Hoping he doesn't wake at half eight again.

Have good nights everyoneSmile

smicha · 26/12/2012 20:22

Hi everyone... can I rejoin the thread?! I became a brief graduate as DS had started sleeping in his cot and even gave me a few 8 hour nights... but now he's back to at least 2 feeds a night... I think it was his Christmas present to me Grin

Feeding now then going to attempt to put him down so I can go and tuck in to leftover trifle (I hope you're all still into food! Wink )

Will catch up on the thread later, looks like some familiar faces are still here, but hope you all had a great first Christmas with your little ones!

funchum8am · 27/12/2012 02:17

Hi smicha it is lovely to hear from you but sorry the 8 hours wasn't permanent, for your sake Sad

babyfunch went to nap at 12:45 so I thought brilliant, she will have a couple of hours now then be awake some of the afternoon. Er, no...if I hadn't woken her I think she would have done her nighttime stretch from then! It was really hard to wake her and in the end she went down.for the night at 5 and didn't wake til.just after 2 Shock Feeding now, no.idea how transfer will be!

Hope you all had lovely Boxing Days Smile

Ameybee · 27/12/2012 02:22

Hi smicha how old is LO now? I'm up and sooo tired! Had 2 glasses of wine early evening as baby bee had bottle n I feel shit now Confused! Didn't feel drunk but feel like I have a hangover! Not doing that again!! Urck! Felt tired enough as it was! X

MrsNPattz · 27/12/2012 03:19

First feed here - little man was so shattered last night, he slept 7 hours from 8 o'clock and I got about 5, took me ages to fall asleep again after I went to bed at 9.

Thanks susie - think I'm just tired. He wasn't himself yesterday so maybe he just needed his daddy Smile

Welcome back smicha although sorry you have to rejoin! We still very much like food - my new favourite is Iceland's cherry bakewell cheesecake, so so good! Hope you enjoyed your trifle.

amey I have been craving a drink but really don't want to have one so thank you for putting me off as I know that's how I will feel after one. Hope you feel better now.

We are off to my parents in the morning - yippee. Going to try and make an early dart but that may be wishful thinking!

smicha · 27/12/2012 03:23

First feed since my last post, so not actually too bad tonight at all! funch we had a similar thing yesterday too where I had to wake him from a 4 hour nap! I think he would have gone into the night otherwise!

amey ds is 13 weeks now.

Looks like the thread is a little quieter through the night than it used to be - is that because sleeps are longer or because it's boxing day? Hoping the former!

smicha · 27/12/2012 03:25

Cross post mrsn

StuntNun · 27/12/2012 03:45

Second feed if the night here and J resolutely will not be burped so he's going to have a sore tummy in a bit. Is anyone else's OH struggling to cope with the sleepless nights? DH was just changing J before his feed and he couldn't handle the crying and shouted at him. He was up at 4:30 with him yesterday when he wouldn't settle so his temper is very short. I think J was left too long from his first murmurs so that by the time his nappy was getting changed he was already beside himself.

Susieloo · 27/12/2012 04:25

2nd feed of the night so a good night for us, nice to hear from you smichaGrin

Too tired to post, anyone else feel really tired just thinking about the day ahead let alone actually doing it.

Smallgreenone · 27/12/2012 04:35

2nd feed. Eyes stinging. Ugh

MissingMyBaubles · 27/12/2012 04:36

Third feed here. At least it's about three hours from before.

Hi Smicha. Ever so slightly jealous of your 8 hours but mourning their loss with you.

Mmm
mm cherry Bakewell cheesecake. Yum yum MrsNXmas Grin

Aaawwww my little niece has just woken up screaming. She's teething. She had one poo through last night but my SiL said she thought they wee still bothering her through the day yesterday. Bless her she sounds so sorry for herselfXmas Sad DB and DSiL will be worrying about the noise, but they really needn't.

DH and I are going home today and taking Missmarbles because I have an interview tomorrow morning, then we are coming straight back up for the rest of our stay. Wish we didn't have to really but it will be worth it if I get the job.

MissingMyBaubles · 27/12/2012 04:39

DNiece had one tooth come through. No idea why the autocorrect was poo Xmas Confused

Goatbongohohoandjinglejingle · 27/12/2012 08:13

susie good luck with the interview! Xmas Smile [and crossed fingers emoticon]

Susieloo · 27/12/2012 08:18

I actually had a minor panic then goat!! Marbles has the interview and yes good luck, hope it goes well for you.

funchum8am · 27/12/2012 09:31

jr my DH isn't good with lack of sleep and persistent crying but now has got more used to it. He used to sound all stressed when babyfunch cried a lot when he was dealing with her but I pointed out that it makes baby worse not better and now he is fine. I think men cope less well but they have to learn not to shout same as us. Good luck!

I brought babyfunch into bed about half two as she was wide awake Sad. DH took her after I had fed her and she slept some more in the end. She does love lying in bed feeding for ages, I must break the habit as I am sure much of it is just comfort sucking! Next thing I know it was 7:30! Does anyone else get sore hips when lying on your side too long?

funchum8am · 27/12/2012 09:32

susie loads of luck for your interview! Smile

MrsNPattz · 27/12/2012 09:55

Morning girls, we are nearly ready to set off and thought I would check in before we go.

Quick question - little man has had one red cheek since yesterday and has been quite upset a lot, could it be teething?

Good luck today marbles!

funch I used to get sore hips when I was pregnant from sleeping on my side!

Hope everyone has a good day.

Newcomer to the thread. 'waves'
Little boy pulled a 3.5 hour wake from midnight to 3.30 last night as he was so happy to see me!! Urg. Took him to bed in a moment of weakness which leads to him sleeping and me barely. Completely agree funch, I get really sore hips and a stiff back. Think my joints are all out of whack.

MissingMyBaubles · 27/12/2012 17:17

Thanks for all the well-wishes. Feeling slightly nervous about tomorrow now. We are nearly home, Missmarbles has obviously been asleep most of the way so I bet will be a nightmare tonight when I will really need a good night Xmas Confused I am missing DD1 like crazy already as we left her in the NE. Can't wait for it all to be over and get back up there tomorrow.

Susieloo · 27/12/2012 18:03

Welcome brainGrin

Sounds like teething to me mrsn, I've given babyloo some calpol tonight because he's dribbling like crazy and both cheeks are boiling, he's also barely eaten because they are hurting so think I'm in for a rough night.

See you for the night shift.

MrsNPattz · 27/12/2012 20:04

We arrived in Chester safe and sound at about half 5. Come upstairs now for hopefully the last feed before bed. I'm starting to feel really crap and my boob has been sore so I'm praying it's not the dreaded M Blush no red patches and not sore to feed but will check again tomorrow. I just need to curl up and sleep but little man slept quite a lot in the car so not sure if that will happen.

Thanks susie - we have Calpol at the ready if we need it, will see how we go. Aw your poor little guy - I'm really dreading teething properly starting, I hate him being in pain and not being able to help. Any other teething tips?

Welcome brain - this is a great thread and I feel like I have made friends (does that make me sound really sad Blush)

BrainGoneAwol · 27/12/2012 20:42

Thanks for the welcome Xmas Smile

Right... Bedtime commencing - teething sadness temporarily averted with dentinox, singing and bouncing. Bed in half an hour... Hopefully see you all not before 1am (ha!)

Goatbongohohoandjinglejingle · 27/12/2012 21:18

Ooh sorry susie didn't want to have you racking your brains for the important appointment you had forgotten! Xmas Grin
Here's to a good night's sleep marbles
Welcome brain !
I have a twitchy baby here... Not quite awake though, so pleeeeeease, oh goddess of baby sleep!!

Tooodlepip · 27/12/2012 22:16

Hi

welcome brain to the thread

I hope everyone had a nice time over xmas and there was loads of sleep going on Wink

Amey is the brown latex teat the nuk ones everyone keeps telling me that baby's love them

Hi smicha I had also graduated the thread for a week or 3 and then it was back to square one and thread Smile

baby pip has had his rantidine upped to 1ml 3 times a day he is asleep now and we haven't had loads of crying tonight but I am not convinced that he won't start again soon.

I hate reflux its such a onslaught every day you don't know how much crying your going to have but on we go.

all of the above is still with the usual 2-3 night feeds Grin

did anyone get any really nice xmas presents??

Macaroons · 27/12/2012 22:39

Welcome brain!

Hope everyone had a good Christmas!

Funch - get a sore hip / sore shoulder from feeding lying down too... So I alternate between different methods if my little man let me...

Missing - tooth and poo? They sound quite different to me! Auto correct sometimes really annoys me. (Eg always a pain to type BBC)

After one night of 12-6 my little man is back at waking up at around 4... No idea why. And he loves chatting to us after the 5-6am feed... and would cry if we ignore him Hmm how to encourage him to sleep at that time and chat sometime later in the day? DH at home most mornings so we'd take turn chatting to him / getting some sleep. There was a morning I slept till 11 (on and off, with a feed at around 9am). Felt like heaven!

Although I love the company on this thread I can't wait to graduate lol
