Baby small is doing every two hours tonight Angry he is nearly 4 months and his sleep is as bad as when he was a newborn. Is he ever going to improve??? Feel like I'm wishing his life away sometimes just because I want some better sleep Sad
He has fallen asleep so attempting transfer I will be back later

HeffalumpsAndWoozles · 21/12/2012 00:49

Transfer fail

Fucksake :(

Macaroons · 21/12/2012 00:55

Transfer failed coz I coughed at the critical moment. Shock

Macaroons · 21/12/2012 01:09

Hurray. Take two is successful. Good night and good luck everyone!

Smallgreenone - I also wonder when will it get better... Why are there babies who sleep through the night at 4 weeks or 8 weeks, and why doesn't mine do that? Sometimes I wonder what I've done wrongly... I don't mind if he doesn't sleep 7-7, would be nice if he sleeps 7-11 then 12-7!

Smallgreenone · 21/12/2012 01:15

I lied its not two hourly at all that would be heaven

Susieloo · 21/12/2012 01:46

Up again....

Really hoping babyloo will follow miss marbles lead, not sure if its his cold, weaning or he might be a bit warm in his gro bag, he is feeding each time he wakes, very much looking forward to crawling back into bed at nine when he is gone tomorrow, hope I manage to sleep and not worry about him too much. I too feel like I'm wishing away his life sometimes because I want more sleep or want someone else to put him to bed or be able to get up with him and then other times I don't want him to grow up too quickly.

Eyes stinging.

MrsNPattz · 21/12/2012 02:41

Why is little man wide awake just an hour after I put him down? Answers on a postcard.........

Ameybee · 21/12/2012 02:44

I've never heard of that heff weird. We certainly never did!

mac, susie, small I know what you mean about the sleeping, it feels relentless Hmm at times. I feel like I'm not enjoying him as much as I want to be. That's why DH think bottle feeding will be better too because I can share the load then - if he ever takes one that is!

DS Is doing his usual 2 suck fall asleep routine Confused it is SO incredibly frustrating that he will not take proper feeds, HV had no advice on that accept ' feed on demand' - easy to say if you're not the one feeding every 2 hours day n night!! X

MrsNPattz · 21/12/2012 03:05

heff I have never ever heard of that either!! Although I have been freaking myself out reading a thread about sleep regression and hoping this is not the start of it Blush

Oh dear these babies are on a stretch of bad form at the moment! macaroons your pattern sounds like ours, a goodong early sleep and then lots of wakings. Soooo annoying! Sad

We kept babyfunch up tonight as my uncle and aunt came for dinner. I was worried she'd be grouchy but she was angelic, plus she slept 10:30 to 3am which is bloody amazing for us!

Those birth stories are another step towards adoption for me!! Some of you deserve a medal! Shock

DH breaks up from school for 2 blissful weeks tomorrow...I am going on a bottle crusade including for nighttimes. amey if I have any luck I will pass on tips.

what are you all getting your DHs for Christmas? Mine never wants a present so I have to actually think of something myself Angry but this year have thought of something half decent...as he will be doing full time child care by the time babyfunch is weaned, I have bought her first bowls, spoons, cups etc plus portion sized storage pots and those are his pressie. Need to get a weaning book and hey presto! I think he will like it as he hates money to go on things that don't get used Grin

MissingMyBaubles · 21/12/2012 04:20

Missmarbles will only lead Babyloo further astray, Susie. We were up at 1, then 3.15 and we're still up since then. We've had a leaked nappy, full change, two transfer fails, and now I am back in bed listening to Ewan accompanied by Missmarbles chattering on the monitor. Sounds like she is getting annoyed now though so think I will have to get up again Xmas Confused

Ameybee · 21/12/2012 04:24

I guess a bonus of never getting anywhere with sleep is its impossible to regress Grin! I'm up again FFS - I'm sites he's taking like 1oz each time. Had enough now Hmm. I'm tired & DH will be a useless wet lettuce Tomo with hangover i can feel it!

fun I bought DH some e tip north face gloves - he's iPhone obsessed so will mean he can use it with gloves on whilst outside! I bought DS some fresh weaning bits as most of DD's have been dishwashered to death! X

MissingMyBaubles · 21/12/2012 04:31

Sleeping at last after more feeding. Still a bit twitchy though so will wait a bit before attempting transfer. I'm starving now.....

Goatbongohohoandjinglejingle · 21/12/2012 05:21

Well first part of night was a two hour meltdown on Kid's part Xmas Hmm never had that before. Then went sparko suddenly and comprehensively for equally no apparent reason! What a diva...
I would really like another child, but macaroons I have the same thing, DH is an only and doesn't see the point. But Kid is the only onein his generation on both sides of the family, and the next generation up is all much, much older, so that seems a bit of a lonely position further on down the track. I think too though that DH is worried about the last experience happening again - I shall have to produce you out of the hat, baubles!
Ooh pregnancy cravings, mine was tomato ketchup, bizarre given that DH is allergic to tomatoes.
Kid just told me he was expiring with hunger then only took about 30 ml. Just why did you wake me up just for that, young man?!
I hope the recalcitrant babies have decided to let their mums sleep... susie enjoy your sleep, LO will be fine! Sleeping is not nothing, you are doing something constructive for both you and babyloo.

MrsNPattz · 21/12/2012 07:10

Third feed here! Glad we aren't doing anything today.

I have bought hubby a Ferrari weekend bag (he is Ferrari obsessed!), a Top Gear calendar and Rhod Gilbert DVD and Little man has bought him an I love daddy mug and a Star Wars Lego watch (a joke as it is meant for 6 year olds hehe).

I didn't have any pregnancy cravings - just all food!!

DS slept till 5.20!! (Since 1.15) not bad! Not sure it's because of the jabs tho.

He's pretty much been up since then, isn't that interested in milk and very chatty, but neither DH nor myself is in a chatty mood. How to teach him that chatting can wait till more sociable hours?

MissingMyBaubles · 21/12/2012 09:17

Ok. We has a transfer failure after I posted last time (around 4.30). I was so cold and tired, and she was happy enough, do I said good night and went back to bed....... She self settled and woke up at 8.30Xmas Shock

funchum8am · 21/12/2012 10:20

Nice work missmarbles! Now can she pass the message on that this is the way to be please?

babyfunch and I are still in bed having a lazy morning Grin. DH took her downstairs for a bit at half five and for the first time ever she was delighted for the whole time and no crying at all. DH was very chuffed!

MrsNPattz · 21/12/2012 10:26

We got another hour and got up at 8:45. A Christmas sofa day today for us - bliss! And I have my own little elf Smile

Ameybee · 21/12/2012 11:05

Well that was a truly crap night!! I've had enough! He keeps screwing my nipple up in his mouth & twisting his face in towards me which really really hurts Confused I think its cos he's tired. I really hope I have a couple of better nights over Xmas as I don't want it to be spoilt by total sleep deprivation :( .

He's currently fast asleep on me & I don't have the energy to transfer him anywhere x

StuntNun · 21/12/2012 11:07

Tired beyond belief. That is all.

Tooodlepip · 21/12/2012 11:11

Hi

can I come back Sad I have been lurking because i simply haven't had the time/energy to actually post

I am so tired and on my own so would love to be involved on the thread as much as my sleep deprivation allows. How's everyone else doing getting much sleep?, I mean that sincerely not in a mocking way Smile

last night was a lovely evening filled with screaming, sleep, wake, feed, scream, sleep and it went on and on and on from 5-10pm

Susieloo · 21/12/2012 14:41

Hello toodle, nice to hear from you, amey babyloo did this and it really hurts, I went back to using lansinoh which helped.

Smallgreenone · 21/12/2012 18:32

Hi all, last feed before bed here although dont know why I say that as bedtime means nothing to baby small! More a series of short naps these days.
Had a lovely day with DH and baby small doing bits and bobs of shopping. Not brilliant for smalls napping but never mind. Am hoping for a quick glass of wine and sofa snuggle before I turn in mega early as am shattered since baby small insists on not sleeping properly.

Smallgreenone · 21/12/2012 18:32

How was your sleep day susie?
