STILL talking to that door handle. I have a feeling it disagreed with him at one point, because he got a bit cross. we are, however, obviously back to more conversational matters.

Goatbongohohoandjinglejingle · 12/12/2012 07:31

And now it has told a joke!

MrsNPattz · 12/12/2012 07:40

Second feed here and up for the day. I can't stop coughing - coughs are disastrous when you have a baby aren't they! I have tried to keep it down but it's the tickly throat kind so nigh on impossible!

amey aw good luck - will be thinking of you! I think going to the support group might be really beneficial for you!

susie so it does get easier then! It's obviously on my mind as all my dreams last night were about me going for a meal (pizza hut!! Lol) but me running late so I had to bring him with me Blush

goat I love your posts - although I am sorry you had a rotten night! marbles same to you!

17:16 after several attempts at victory through weaponry of various sorts, Kid trundles out the big guns - the largest smile ever, and a series of cute coos and gurgles.

17:17 mummy waves white flag of surrender.

Smallgreenone · 12/12/2012 09:03

Such a clever door handle! Every home should have one!

funchum8am · 12/12/2012 09:13

Oh goat your posts do make me giggle!

Small, glad to hear there is some improvement, fingers crossed it continues apace.

Amey you sound just like me, I get really frustrated at constant night wakings.

Last night was pretty bad - I couldn't get to sleep til after midnight having woken babyfunch for a feed about 12 in an attempt to get her to sleep past 2am. However the reflux kicked in early so I didn't get any stretch longer than about 2 hrs. Took her into bed and kicked dh out at ten to four and she fed lying down til 7am on and off, but at least i got a bit of sleep that way, though every time she lost latch she cried so i would wake up and put her back on. Payback for escaping to the theatre I suppose! She is now having a nap but I can hear gurgling so suspect it is only a ten minute job Sad

On the plus side I am going to be near an M&S today so may find some dessert items just fall into my basket....if they have sold out I might cry though!!

HeffalumpsAndWoozles · 12/12/2012 09:33

Morning all Xmas Smile

We had a good night again from half 1 to now. If only she could shift it forward a little so we weren't up so late every night, but I'm not going to complain too much as she is at least sleeping well once I finally get her down. We had a difficult evening, she got so over tired and just yelled the house down for hours until finally dropping off properly.

We went to get weighed yesterday, babylump truly is a lump at 14lb 14oz now! I felt all proud thinking "I've done that", I find it so amazing that we are able to provide so perfectly for our babies. Obviously all the cakes are helping... Xmas Wink

funch that show sounds fab, so glad you got some time to yourself. On an unrelated note are you going to the sling library on Monday?

goat no one can resist the power of a massive baby grin, you had no choice but to surrender! Kid's antics are giving me a good chuckle Xmas Grin

Hope you start to feel better small

Also hope all the babies who have had their jabs are soon feeling back to normal.

Ameybee · 12/12/2012 13:48

We had all out wailing after jabs Sad poor sausage! How did your little man do mrsn?
I went to the bf group, was quite helpful & lots of people with babies who don't sleep either which is reassuring! She's told me to keep trying to bottle between the 7pm-9pm fussiness, by distracting him too, seeing as he likes hair dryer lots might try it during drying DD's hair agree bath! Will be giving a dose of calpol as soon as he wakes up & fingers crossed for a peaceful afternoon! X

MrsNPattz · 12/12/2012 14:32

Sat on the sofa like Daisy the cow expressing for tomorrow - aaahhhh I'm really dreading it, every time I think of leaving him my stomach sinks and I want to cry/do cry - is this normal? Or am I just an emotional freak? Lol

Little mans jabs were ok - he cried, obviously, but not for very long. I cried too but not as much as last time. He's sleeping lots since though but other than that fingers crossed seems ok.

I breast fed in public for the first time today Blush, at Frankie and Benny's. it was quiet and we asked to sit in a corner in case I did need to feed him, but it was pretty successful. I had chocolate honeycomb waffles for pudding - yum yum yum! Made up for every single pudding I couldn't have when pregnant due to gestational diabetes!

Ameybee · 12/12/2012 14:59

God no mrsn totally normal not to want to leave him! I was exactly same first time I left DD & I still miss her terribly now if she stays at grandmas! DS is also asleep .. But on me! Very comfortable and snuggly but I'm not getting much done or getting any sleep myself! X

MrsNPattz · 12/12/2012 17:25

amey we just managed to have a sleep snuggled up together - bliss! Hope your little one is still doing ok!

OP posts:
Smallgreenone · 12/12/2012 18:15

Oh poor little ones having jabs. Baby small has his on Tuesday but they will be his last ones until he's a year old so hoorah for that! Bedtime for him now as his lunchtime nap went wrong and he has been grumpy ever since. Although did manage a late afternoon snuggly catnap with him which was bliss just wish it could have been longer...............
I've nearly completed my Christmas shopping just a couple more pressies to go and we are done. Phew. Wondering if I should get baby small a swing- anyone got one and does it put them to sleep?!

funchum8am · 12/12/2012 18:47

I feel bad that I don't feel like crying when I leave babyfunch with others - it is certainly the expected response! Definitely normal mrsn. I on the other hand am a stony hearted career womanGrin It is a good job DH is very motherly, bless him!

babyfunch has been grizzly again today. might be because I have laid off the infacol so need to get back on that. We spent the afternoon in bed as I was desperate for a nap and it was lovely and snuggly Smile. We never made it to m&s thoughSad

about to put her to bed which is usually easy but we will see if the grizzle monster gets us!

MrsNPattz · 12/12/2012 19:21

small we have a swing chair and our little man loves it! Puts him to sleep too Smile

funch just shows how different we all are - good on ya career lady Grin I think it's because it's the first time I'm leaving him with MIL too - I don't think I would feel so bad if it was my mum!

MissingMyBaubles · 12/12/2012 22:15

It was DD1's Christmas performance tonight - they were brill, bless them Xmas Smile

Missmarbles fed just before they started (it was a 6.30 start = bedtime) and slept all the way through to the clapping at the end. She looked wrecked but then by the time we got home was bouncing off the ceiling (very funny but not great for bedtime) so she then didn't go down til 9.15Xmas Shock Really hope that it means she will sleep til 4 or maybe even 5, wouldn't that be lovelyXmas Hmm

Can't wait for Christmas and going to my mum and dad's. I am really missing them at the moment.

Xmas Envy at the daytime naps.

Hope the injected babies get over them quickly, and sleep them off Xmas Wink

MissingMyBaubles · 12/12/2012 22:41

And she's been up another two times since last post...

MissingMyBaubles · 12/12/2012 22:43

Yes that's less than half an hour and only an hour before that. Think I'm in for a rough nightXmas Sad....

HeffalumpsAndWoozles · 12/12/2012 23:49

small we've got a swing, a lovely friend bought it for us when DD1 was born and its been very well used for both DDs. DD1 was a very clingy baby and it was the only thing I could put her down in for more than two minutes. DD2, who is a more relaxed baby anyway, will happily swing away in it for 15 minutes some days and often she does fall asleep for a lot longer. Definitely worth it I'd say.

We're having another shouty night, she's over tired and letting me know in no uncertain terms that it is my fault!

Did the dreaded office visit today, it was quite awkward as expected but the girls were all really happy to see us and I just tried not to hang around too long, especially once she started showing off her impressive lung capacity. Glad it's done now, I've been avoiding it for weeks!

For tonight's food porn I have some totally scrummy mulled spiced Cornish cyder, mince pies and a sausage sandwich fresh from the oven Xmas Grin As you can tell, the diet hasn't started yet!

How is everyone today?

funchum8am · 13/12/2012 00:15

Ooh I could murder a sausage sandwich! First feed here, she has stopped going through to 3am Sad. I hope she goes back to sleep after this feed rather than doing the reflux transfer hokey cokey this early...

heff glad you got work visit sorted. it is always great to tick annoying chores off the to do list!
We are off to my parents for Xmas this year and I can't wait, I miss mine too. Apparently being a grandad twice over is making my dad all mellow and philosophical and he keeps coming out with all these deep statements about love and family, bless him! Grin

funchum8am · 13/12/2012 00:16

hope you have managed to get baby marbles to sleep now marbles!

Goatbongohohoandjinglejingle · 13/12/2012 01:34

Mm... Mulled cyder... How perfect with a sausage sammie! We had sausage pie here courtesy of DH, would be great with that too Xmas Smile
Just gone 4 hours, not bad after a rocky start due to visitors. BG was not best pleased to find so many people in his space when he was so tired, so I brought him up to bed, cue total meltdown. He had been so good all day, especially during lunch in pizza express when he slept gently in hs car set for almost the whole time. I must admit that I took the opportunity tonight of grabbing some sleep for myself as he finally settled as long as I was here! (they were DH's work mates so I wasn't missed!)
Hoping for another four hours...

MrsNPattz · 13/12/2012 01:37

First feed here after he went down at half 9 - hoping it's a quick one but after today's jabs who knows, although he seems ok.

marbles hope you are now sleeping soundly for a good long stretch! I still call you marbles automatically even though you are now baubles Grin

We are having Christmas here this year, my first one since moving 4 years ago so it's only fair but I'm Sad about it! However we are going to my mum and dads on the 27th for 9 days so Smile do you guys have brothers and sisters? I have one brother who is 21, there are 6 years between us.

funchum8am · 13/12/2012 01:43

Gah three transfer fails in an hour...definitely a record! DH has been sent to the sofa so I can get her in with me and feed lying down. I am one cross mummy!

MrsNPattz · 13/12/2012 01:46

susie little man is wearing one of his wadded sleep suits for the first time tonight, they are brilliant Smile
