Yay mrsn, so pleased you are getting some use out of them.

I am on second feed of the night since bed at six so hoping for a lovely stretch through until morning!!

Funnily enough I spoke to my one brother tonight, his marriage is going through a rough patch and he was in a hotel room on his own talking about how much he wants to move home (he lives 5 hours away now). He was getting quite tearful so it was a bit horrible. The other brother goes back to Afghanistan tomorrowHmm they are both older than me.

Totally loving the sausage and cider combo, I have my shopping being delivered tomorrow so good excuse to stay at home in the warm and maybe make some stuff to freeze.

My kit day and Xmas lunch was really lovely although I did not think through my boobs and by 3pm the one had swelled up into a comedy boob and was agony, babyloo fed for an hour when I saw him though thank goodness.

small how are you feeling?

Attempting transfer........

Smallgreenone · 13/12/2012 02:37

1st feed since 6!! He must have been so tired unfortunately though means we'll probably be up twice more as he always goes a bit weird with a 2 o clock feed Confused
Sausage sandwich and mulled cyder sound scrummy.
I've been investigating swings after seeing a lovely sleeping baby in one but they are pricey so didnt want to buy incase it didn't work on baby small. If you ladies say they work though I trust you.
DH is upstairs again tonight so I can have baby small in bed if needed. The room he's in is above the nursery- I can hear him snoring through the ceiling Shock!!!
No food porn here. Trying desperately to shift some weight after my profiterole feast! I am determined to be my pre preg weight by Xmas and have the last couple of stubborn lbs to go, not helped that because I think oh well I'm doing so well I'll just eat this or il make this piece of cake my extra breast feeding calories!!!

Smallgreenone · 13/12/2012 02:44

Cross post susie I am MUCH better thank you. Still have soreness but baby small is working on it!
Its a shame about your brother. Must be hard hearing him upset and not being near to offer comfort. I have two brothers who I'm very close to and who I adore and who drive me nuts equally! My older brother was nearly killed in a cycling accident last year and it was a real wake up call so now I'm very soppy about them both!! And baby small will never ride a bike to school! susieloo you're brother is incredibly brave being in Afghanistan, presume he is forces? Wishing him well.

JRsandCoffee · 13/12/2012 03:46

Hello, can I join you? I'm horrified and terrified that I've just galled asleep while feeding my 4 week-old DD. She woke up at 2, started feeding her and next thing I know it is 3 and we're still in exactly the same position.....but back in Dyson mode....horrified, horrified, horrified, feel like the worst and most unworthy mother on the planet. How the hell do I keep myself properly awake????

Ameybee · 13/12/2012 03:48

First feed since 11 here - miracle! We had a lovely 3 hours awake before bed - nice for DH to have some time with him! We found something DS loves - DD's tigger! He was chatting away to it! Then when I walked it towards him he proper giggled! It was the cutest thing ever!!

Hmm cyder sounds lush!!

mrsn hope you are not having any jab repercussions! We seem fine touch wood! I have 2 older brothers - I'm 29, they are 31 and 34! We had a ball growing up together although things have changed a bit as we've got older and all had kids! My parents have 5 grandchildren now!! Being 1 of 3 has always made me want 3, although having 2 I wonder how on earth my mum coped (and I often ask her!).

We've decided DD has been such a good girl whilst we've had this difficult week with DS and feeding etc, we want to do something really special with her on Sunday, just trying to think, if I ask her I know she'll say 'do a jigsaw!' Suggestions welcome! She's scared of santa unfortunately so that's a no go!

Glad you feel a bit better 'small'. Sleepy dust to all x attempting transfer Confused

Ameybee · 13/12/2012 03:51

Ps that's so sweet of your dad 'heff*

small I sorted out my huge pile of pre pregnancy clothes today - I found 3 items that fit snugly one denim skirt and 2 pairs of leggings. It was depressing and DH can't understand why there are still 3 space bags full of clothes!! X

MissingMyBaubles · 13/12/2012 03:52

Well, we've been asleep since my earlier moaning - yayXmas Grin That's 5 hours and the longest stretch in weeks! Long may it continue, and hopefully we'll get to morning now, although I am just listening to a little bit of chuntering over the monitor. Hope it's not a transfer fail....

I have one younger brother, who, like Small, I adore and drives me nuts in equal measureXmas Grin Glad your feeling better, SmallXmas Smile

It's funny, I take recommendations from here too. Susie's walk in sleepers were the last thing I got. They're great but Missmarbles is in an ordinary sleeping bag tonight since both sleepers are in the wash. One was puked on last night and the other was weed in the night beforeXmas Hmm

Sausage sarnie and mulled cider, you say? Mmmmmmm. DH made sausage risotto for tea tonight, so good Think I'm going to add mince pies to my delivery this week. I usually do my own baking and stuff but can't be bothered this year. Have done my cake for after Christmas, as we will be away for Christmas. My diet is waiting til Missmarbles is 6 months and weaning is well established. I dont have that much to lose, but I feel very fat sometimes, but so hungry most of the timeXmas Hmm

Ok, chuntering stopped. Going to kip hopefully til morning

Twobuttonsaway · 13/12/2012 04:12

Welcome JR and don't worry I am sure you are not the first to nod off (as I have done it too) and won't be the last!! Co-sleeping is an option, my HV says you mummy instincts mean you won't roll on or drop baby apparently!

Am very excited tonight as baby buttons conked out at about 9pm and slept until 4am! Wow a massive record for him! Smile

McBaby · 13/12/2012 04:38

Can I join not quite the same but have to express every 3 hours to help clear mastitis! Gutted as she has started sleeping after 3 weeks of waking every 3 hours.

Currently sat in spare room with a hot wet nappy on my breast!

MrsNPattz · 13/12/2012 04:45

Second feed here, not had 2 wake ups for a long time! Zzzzzzz just in time for my works Christmas lunch tomorrow lol

Lots of brothers here then! susie really sorry your brother is having a hard time Sad I would have loved older brothers so am really glad we got a boy first, but what are the chances of me having a girl next time (if there is a next time!!) haha

Also lots of sausages tonight Grin I had cereal for tea after my big lunch! Going to be another big lunch today too although I was so sleep deprived when I got the menu that I can't remember what I ordered!

Glad you are feeling better small

amey there don't seem to be any repercussions other than more night wakings!

An hour?? Seriously?? Come on!!

MrsNPattz · 13/12/2012 05:12

I have had an update for this app but it's still rubbish and now the stars don't work to make things bold - is yours the same susie?

Goatbongohohoandjinglejingle · 13/12/2012 05:52

Second feed of night here. Back to pre-illness routines?? she says hopefully and probably fatefully wrongly
Welcome jr and mcBaby jrdont beat yourself up that you fell asleep, it happens more than you would think, and babies are ok!this threads great for keeping awake, maybe also feed lying down? mcBaby ouch on the mastitis, hope it clears up soon.
I am going to buck the trend here, as I have two older sisters! They are both in our home country. I am close to one, and the other prefers communication on her terms - and as she is not best pleased by the arrival of Kid, I have not heard from her since July. The other, however, is a lovely auntie!

Ameybee · 13/12/2012 05:54

mcbaby sorry to hear of the mastitis! How old Is LO?

j I have fallen asleep several times and always wake up in a tizz! So do not worry! If you are worried you could always feed sat upright. Or post on here to stay awake! I have to use my phone otherwise I would def nod off!
Xx

Susieloo · 13/12/2012 06:49

Yesmrsn the stars are not working on the new app, when you click on the little i symbol which normally tells you how to bold etc there is nothing there.

Morning poonami is signalling our morning wake up at 05.40-feel knackered!!

Welcome JR and mcbabySmile

Glad the walk in sleepers are a success, babyloo is back in blankets because he is too chunky for me to get a babygro underneath and its too cold without one, hoping to put him back in them when he gets more streamlined!!

Do you think they will ever sleep through marbles?

Have a good day everyoneSmile

McBaby · 13/12/2012 07:16

My LO is four months today. So we have just got through the 16 week growth spurt of hourly wakeniings and a few weeks of three hourly and have had three nights this week with 6/8 hours bue I have been up every 3. Mastitis is exhausting enough without this.

Hoping all your Los woke less in the night.

Smallgreenone · 13/12/2012 07:44

Hello jr and mcbaby
mcbaby I have mastitis too so feel your pain. I don't have to wake baby small though as unfortunately he wakes regularly himself!! He is 16 weeks on Sunday so guess we have hourly wakings coming up but hopefully maybe then some longer stretches? Please!!!
We have a Xmas party to go to today. Woo hoo! Baby smalls first Xmas outing!

MrsNPattz · 13/12/2012 10:14

Welcome jr and mcbaby

It's annoying isn't it susie

Getting ready to leave little man in 15 mins for my work Christmas lunch Sad I am a brave, strong, grown up women, I am a brave, strong, grown up women......lol

We were up again another hour after I posted, so into our bed she came and lo and behold, slept for 3 hours Xmas Confused

I do wonder, Susie, if she will ever sleep through. I thought we were getting into a nice little sensible routine and we have gone back to newborn status and I don't know what to do to reverse the regression (is that a double negative? Can you reverse a regression???).

Enjoy your Christmas lunch, MrsN. I still don't like the idea of leaving Missmarbles for any length of time, and she's my secondXmas Blush I think you're supposed to be tougher on the second, aren't you?

Hi to JR and McBaby Xmas Smile

Missmarbles has just woken from normal morning nap, so that's my cue to get going.

Laters

MrsNPattz · 13/12/2012 17:31

Evening!

Well I survived! A shed a few tears when I drove away, but had a nice time and little man was ok except he wouldn't take a bottle so was starving when I got in! Not sure why as he had taken one before, I'm really not wanting to be expressing all the time so he gets used to it but maybe I will have to.

marbles I would be the same with a second! Do you feel ok leaving DD1?

OP posts:
Ameybee · 13/12/2012 17:38

Well done mrsn! We are having the same bottle battle after he look it so easily last Friday! We managed to pipette an oz into him last night! Bf counsellor told us just to keep trying with an oz or so every evening but he's not keen at all - which terrifies me because if the HV tells me next wed after he's weighed that he needs formula how the hell will I get him to have one bottle per day?!?

We've just had a screaming fit over nothing really Confused & he's now conked out in my arms. Tears and everything tho!

He had his first trip to meadowhall today Grin he liked it but only if he was viewing from my arms not the pram! Good job I met MIL so she could help!

Really hoping for a good night today - for me and everyone else! X

Smallgreenone · 13/12/2012 18:33

Evening all. Glad your lunch went well mrsn
Baby small enjoyed himself at his Christmas party drank a lot and then poonami'd and fell asleep so not too dissimilar or how his dad can sometimes behave at parties Xmas Grin!! Without the poonami obviously!
Have decided that once this episode of mastitis clears up we're going onto bottles. Baby small will happily take a bottle and I'll try and still do bedtime feeds if my supply lets me. Just can't cope with another mastitis attack and by the time he's used up my freezer stash he'll be 4 months so not too bad. I've been ummming and ahhing over doing it for a while so finally have decided. Do feel a bit guilty about it so definitely want to try and keep the night feeds (although would prefer to be asleep!) if he needs them as he gets so much comfort from boobs and I love our special bond that its given us. DH is thrilled as he's been rather jealous of baby small I think and can now get more involved with feeding.

Twobuttonsaway · 13/12/2012 19:05

small four months is fantastic, you shouldn't feel guilty at all, congrats on fab job Smile

Ameybee · 13/12/2012 19:10

small we are having the same debate in our house (minus the mastitis - so you've done amazing!)! I feel really guilty about it but I feel like we are not getting into any kind of routine at all :( I want to think it will get better but at the mo is still so mixed. I also feel like his poor weight gain is a bit of a sign that its not working out x

McBaby · 13/12/2012 19:20

Small amazed you have made it to a party with mastitis! Seriously struggling I haven't left the house for 3 days!

I have been trying to give my LO a bottle for 10 weeks and she will only take an oz or two here and there! After this mastitis and 3 tongue tie revisions I'm done with feeding as soon as I can be......
