mrsn I have a Winnie-the-pooh light projector. It has music as well as lights, the lights are great but unfortunately you can't turn the sound off! Still Kid seems to love it and the pictures kind of go in circles.
small so sorry about the mastitis. I hope it clears up soon, and that LO helps heal it by feeding well!
amey I wouldn't be any use about em, Kid would always suck on anything, any time Xmas Hmm I always swore we would not use a dummy, but he had other ideas. Seems to be weaning himself off it, though!
blonder I hope the good nights are increasing! Four hours sounds lovely...
baubles your vim argon made me Xmas Grin There was something Reminiscent in the phrase of an epic Greek tragedy!
heff I enjoyed reading about your Cornish escapades, sounds I've you all had a great time. Must have also strengthened your desire to move down there?
funch and susie fingers crossed and thumbs pressed for tonight.
elvis and two do get your babies to prewd the good night germs! I hope they travel well!
Hello to everyone else I have missed. Finishing moving house today and am now shattered. Hooray for a wonderful MIL who came and spirited Kid off to look after him while I finished things up.

blonderthanred · 11/12/2012 22:05

Goat if only it happened every night! Moving house must have been a stress but glad you had help.

Amey the choc shortbread sounds fab. I'm delighted to hear the bf weight loss isn't due till 12 weeks as I can kid myself that's why I'm still getting fatter for the next few weeks (and not the 'chocolate biscuits two ways' DH presented me with during MasterChef).

Goatbongohohoandjinglejingle · 11/12/2012 22:22

Chocolate biscuits two ways??? What is this divineness of which you speak?...

blonderthanred · 11/12/2012 22:25

It was some chocolate fingers sandwiched between two chocolate digestives. A classic dish, perfectly executed.

Susieloo · 11/12/2012 22:32

Evening all, disappointed to be here so early in the evening but lovely to see you all. I am as always when reading this thread now hungry, popped into m and s to pick up some salted caramel profiteroles and they had sold out!!

mrsn the projector I have is called a homedic lullaby sound machine with projection or something similar, I got it from amazon after posting a thread on here asking for recommendations. The sound and projection can be used together or separately which was a major point for me because sometimes the noise of baby things drives me bonkers!! The projection moves in a circle above the cot and can be really big depending on the angle you set it at, I'm watching it at the moment and it covers a least half the cot if not more. It comes with three projection discs, a night scene and two other scenes all animals but I've only ever put the night scene on. Some of the reviews on amazon have complained that the projection disc revolving is too loud (the discs are the size of a 50p) but I haven't found this. Babyloo loves it and I use both sound and light functions on it. It was quite pricey but I remember it was the only one that came with a projection only function on it and variable sounds.

Hope that helps!!

Attempting transfer..........

MrsNPattz · 11/12/2012 22:32

Thanks for the recommendation goat!

blonder lol! Yum!

Only 10:30 and already we have had a nappy leak (change one) and a vomathon (change two) and now Kid is lying here talking to the door handle Xmas Hmm

funchum8am · 11/12/2012 23:27

Hi all, I have had a lovely treat - a friend got me a ticket for the all-female production of Julius Caesar in London and DH agreed to have babyfunch so I have been to that. It was fab Smile

Ebm - I was/am absolutely determined not to be unable to have time away from babyfunch plus am going back to work before she is 5 months so we have persevered! it can take weeks but that is normal, I think you just have to keep trying every day or two. I have tried to leave bottle stuff entirely to DH as I don't need to use them, obviously, and he has been very good at getting to grips with storing and sterilising etc. He tries to give her an early morning bottle but she often refuses, but will take one at other times of day from him, DM, childminder or me (when she refuses one and it goes back in the fridge I try to give it her later as cannot bear the waste!). I think you have to catch them when they are hungry but still calm and stay confident that they will not starve themselves! Some say that mum needs to go out really as baby will otherwise know she is there with the alternative! Or book them in to a childminder for a few hours...that is what worked for us and gave us confidence to persevere, as she had only taken a few bottles before but takes them most of the time now. good luck!

small SO sorry to hear it is mastitis....lots if sympathy coming your way from here Sad

goat glad to hear you got the house sorted!

waves to everyone!

blonderthanred · 11/12/2012 23:48

funch that production sounds amazing. Would love to get to it but we are nowhere near that stage yet! Very good to hear the advice about expressing, I keep giving it a go and getting very disheartened about how little I get out but need to persevere I think. Glad you are having some success with it.

Susieloo · 12/12/2012 00:35

Up again a whole two hours since last feed, it's my work team meeting and Xmas lunch tomorrow so leaving at 8 and not home till 3 ish so it will be the longest I've ever left him, really looking forward to my first Christmas dinner of the year but not looking forward to the getting up and out for 8 bit!!

Ameybee · 12/12/2012 00:48

blonder your DH sounds like a master chef! I fancy that now! DH bought me some flake cakes from shop - they are very tasty Grin 3 pro points!!

funch thanks for expressing info, will have to persevere, think we are trying when he's too starving and irrational tho!

goat that was an amazing name check, I am generally pretty rubbish at name checks!

First feed since 9 here but its our usual sleepy one so ill prob be back by 2 ConfusedConfused!
Xx

Smallgreenone · 12/12/2012 03:14

Hi all and thanks for all sympathies. I have stopped shivering so perhaps antibiotics are starting to work. Baby small hasa big job to do but has unfortunately fallen asleep on the job Hmm
Oh no susie how awful to be sold out of the profiteroles. Am sure they'll have more in soon.
We have a projector too but it doesn't send baby small to sleep he just watches it happily and then cries when it ends.
Right going for transfer and back to bed although expect to be back later as he's only had a tiny feed.
Oh meant to say well done on packing goat are you moving somewhere nice?

MrsNPattz · 12/12/2012 03:46

First feed here so not as good as previous nights but still a 4.5 stretch for him.

Little man has his next injections today, boooo Hmm hubby is off so that's good - they are early at ten past 9 so we have to be ready quickly in the morning.

susie do you feel ok about leaving little one? I have my works Christmas lunch tomorrow and am Sad about leaving him with MIL. Not going to back out though.

I hope they have these profiteroles when I go tomorrow!

Ameybee · 12/12/2012 03:48

Angry I'm being used as a human dummy tonight and its doing my head in!!! FFS just take a proper feed and go to sleep!!!!!!

Ameybee · 12/12/2012 04:19

mrsn babybee has his jabs today! Ours are at 1230, I am contemplating the breastfeeding support group in the morning but don't think I can bear to go asking the same advice about sleeping. Just fed up of him taking tiny feeds at night & getting no sleep. Sad X

StuntNun · 12/12/2012 05:01

I'm checking in but too tired to write much. Oh for four hours straight sleep. Or a daytime nap, remember those? Tomorrow I'll try to cover up the bags under my eyes.

MissingMyBaubles · 12/12/2012 05:15

Bed at 7. Fed at 10, 12.30, 4.30 (woop a 4 hour stretch). I was starving so nipped downstairs for a cup of tea and a digestive came back up to discover a transfer failure, have changed a very full nappy and now have a very chatty Missmarbles on by hands Xmas Confused

MissingMyBaubles · 12/12/2012 05:39

Transfer FAILXmas Sad Back in chair with baby on shoulder, who is fast asleep. Until I put her in the cot and its like someone flicks a switch.
Must. Not. Fall. Asleep.

Goatbongohohoandjinglejingle · 12/12/2012 05:39

Ooh stunt daytime naps...

If kid does not go back to sleep after this feed, I will be selling him, if anyone would like to make a matching pair?

Susieloo · 12/12/2012 05:42

Longest stretch of the night from 12.30 until now, he's chatting away to the pretty pictures and not sure if this is us done or not now, my alarm is due to go off in an hour anyway.

mrsn I feel ok about leaving him, much better than I used too!!

MissingMyBaubles · 12/12/2012 06:13

Transfer fail after fail after fail. And now I'm really pissed off because she's in bed with us and chatting and opportunity for sleep is diminishing, whereas if I'd brought her in here an hour and a half ago.....

Goatbongohohoandjinglejingle · 12/12/2012 06:17

I've changed my mind about selling him. You can have him FREE.

Smallgreenone · 12/12/2012 07:18

Giggling at goats offer of a free kid!!! I took baby small into bed again, nasty little habit I'm getting into but he sleeps so much better so if we get a transfer fail like we always do I just bring him in here. Feeling much more human this morning so now just got to work on clearing the blockage which is still very sore.
amey I took baby small last week to a breastfeeding group about his two hourly sleep and they all said it was totally normal and milk was better at night blah blah blah. Anyway it was actually his 3 month growth spurt ad he stopped and went back to 'normal' feeding - took until 14 weeks. I felt like a human dummy too but I think that's them increasing your milk supply. There's another one at 16 weeks apparently so not looking forward to that!
