Noah Donohoe was found lifeless in a storm drain on June 27, 2020. A post-mortem report declared that he died as a result of drowning. Well, because the job of the police is to look at every possible and impossible, there has been a growing number of Belfast residents wanting to know if there was a racial motivation in the death of Noah Donohoe. People want to know the truth. The more the family of Noah and public are cautioned against making so-called unsubstantiated statements, the more they hunger for the truth.The PSNI is bungling this sad case

This 14 year old set off on his bike one Sunday, two years ago now, to meet a friend. They were working on a Duke of Edinburgh award.

Six days later, his naked body was found a kilometre inside an unlocked storm drain, in a part of Belfast he did not frequent.

Apparently, the police announced that there was no foul play involved, on the very day that his body was found. Even before an autopsy took place. There still has been no Inquest.

The police version of events is that: Noah fell from his bike, sustained a head injury, removed his clothes in confusion, ditched his bike, wandered off naked into a part of the city he would not usually go into, and somehow ended up drowned a kilometre inside an ( unusually) unlocked storm drain.

I understand that Noah was of African/Irish heritage. Police have never considered a racial element in his death and disappearance. Another schoolboy a fortnight earlier, had been attacked and chased by a group of youths whilst cycling. He escaped from them only after running three miles to safety. Police did not investigate any links between the incidents.

His mother's demand for answers from the Police Service Northern Ireland appears to have been blocked by them. There is a petition requesting the release of these files.

This entire case is so suspicious.

I’ve seen an interview with Noah’s mum saying that Noah knew NOT to go to that part of Belfast (I’m assuming for sectarian reasons).

The Police claiming Noah took his own clothes off and fallen into the drain with NO evidence is ridiculous.

The boy who claimed to be chased before.

Did this case get much media attention in in Ireland? Because there’s been very little coverage in the rest of the UK despite how morbid it is.

"We will use any extra funding to pursue unexplored lines of inquiry, to draw upon additional experts, and to commission further forensic reports on relevant items. These funds can also be used to complete a reconstruction of Noah's movements and to commission the specialist filming and reconstruction of a storm drain of similar proportions to that in which Noah was found. This will allow us to test a number of theories about how he entered the drain and traversed over 900m of dark and difficult terrain. Following this, we will use any further additional funds to raise the production values of the film and to ready it for international film festivals and broadcasts in the UK and Ireland."

You are right in all that you say, @Xeren 💙
It has been a suspicious PSNI and coronial 'investigation' since the very start, as I see it. No, it would not have been wise for Noah to go into that area as a Catholic and black or bi-racial boy. The boy you mention was badly injured and lucky to get away, and he is not the only one. To be clear, the danger comes from a minority* *within that area and those who will see, hear and do nothing to stop them. There are many decent people there too. At the sensitive age Noah was, and with his modest personality, it is simply not credible to claim that he would have willingly taken all his clothes off and cycled naked in any street, let alone in that area. Nor is it credible to claim that he found and willingly entered a storm drain in an out of the way location, in an area he did not know, and when he was afraid of the dark. We can't speculate about what happened to Noah at this stage in proceedings, but we can say that there are currently still more credible questions than credible answers, and we can ask those credible questions and ask where is the evidence for the PSNI claims; where is the missing CCTV footage and why is CCTV footage being withheld. And no, Noah's disappearance and death and the official 'investigation' into that has not has the mainstream media coverage it deserves or you would expect.

The Crowdfunding organisation has continued to receive donations to the campaign for our stretch target because from their stats they can see that people are still visiting the page and are still keen to donate. You will know that the initial sum of £150k was to guarantee the completion of the film and the investigation. This has now been reached. Obviously, any extra funds will make it better and easier to hire experts and to do a range of tests and reconstructions that the PSNI have not done and the Coroner has not directed done. We feel these are important to include or exclude lines of inquiry. Thank you for continuing to believe in us. After this campaign on this site is over we'll continue to raise additional funds with fundraising dinners and other events and we will keep you posted. Details about the rewards and the timings will be released in due course but obviously centre around the completion of the project and its release after the inquest.

This report, quite rightly, doesn't detail the worst of it and I won't detail it here. He has not been the only troll, to lesser or similar degrees, even on here, as we know. He lived very close to where Noah disappeared and was found.

It's a pity he didn't resign or wasn't sacked over the handling of young Noah Donohoe's disappearance and death, but I'm glad Byrne has gone at least and at last. He's not the only one who should resign or be sacked over the handling of Noah's case, of course, but one down and all that. 💙

Update Noah Donohoe Investigation

Dear all
You might have read yesterday that the Coroner has recused himself in respect of the inquest into Noah's death after an application from the Next of Kin's legal team, KRW Law. He has now reset the proposed inquest date for February 2025. You might remember that the inquest was first scheduled for January 2021. I think that this new date might, however, stick.
There are strict instructions from the Attorney General and the Coroner, against releasing any material or information related to the case into the public domain including the manner and matter of the Coroner's recusal.
Our hands are tied about what we can say concerning even the most banal details until after the inquest. However, we can say we are working hard and making progress and that there have been significant insights and developments in our investigation. We are continuing to conduct more technical testing, reconstructions, and environmental testing among other tasks with the explicit intention of giving Noah the investigation he deserves and the investigation he is entitled to.

Update from The Noah Donahoe Independent Investigation
Dear Supporters
The inquest is about to start into the circumstances around Noah's death. This inquest is asking how, when and where Noah died - our investigation covers more ground but with your support we have supplied multiple reports, interviews and video material to the Inquest. Our multiple submissions challenge the PSNI's investigation in a number of key areas and raise some upsetting concerns that the Inquest will interrogate. We submitted our final material to the coroner last week and you will hear throughout the PSNI and others contest our evidence. While I am not there to defend it as part of the process I am confident that it will stand up to scrutiny and that our book, film and other content will demonstrate its full value in due course.
While I have offered my services as a witness it has not been taken up but doubtless the coroner and the parties with representation including counsel for Fiona and the Noah's family will use our evidence to assist the jury in their adjudications.
As soon as the inquest is finished we will deliver our book, film and other media materials to you and the public. Thereafter and it will be some weeks after the team will pass onto the supporters the materials promised at the outset. The book for example needs a six week run up to the print run before publication and the film in the early stages of the edit will have to include all the material in the likely 10 week inquest period.
Please be patient as we will be following the inquest daily with daily updates on Instagram and on X - and here so you can keep apprised of developments. Remember the work that we have done and submitted to the inquest is only as a result of your funding - so where you see our name - know that you all have contributed to hold justice to power and accountability in check - to ensure that Noah get justice - and the investigation he deserves.
These are difficult times for Fiona and all Noah's family and there are in our thoughts and prayers over the weeks and months ahead.

Mr Justice Rooney, who is the coroner in the case stated last week, ahead of the Inquest starting today:
“I’ve been at pains to emphasise the importance and risks of social media posts about the inquest.
“Some PIPs (properly interested parties) have raised issues about recent social media posts, and they may … require to be explored in some more detail in due course.
“However it bears repeating that no-one, whether involved in the inquest, or in the general public, should engage in any social media activity which might prejudice the inquest process, particularly given the proximity of the inquest.
“The consequences of such activity could be serious, not only for the progress of the inquest, but also for any person engaged in inappropriate social media activity.”

Everyone, please keep Noah, Fiona and family in your thoughts, hearts and prayers, and please take heed of the coroner's highly important warning above.
