Black "don't" crack!

lotussnow · 30/10/2021 23:54

I know. I know this doesn't apply to every Black person but it's true (in my experience) that a lot of Black people tend to look stunning, gorgeous and naturally look younger than their age.

I'd have posted pictures of regular Black people but I can't for privacy reasons so I'm posting Black celebrities with public image gotten from Google. Whether there's been work done or not, there's no denying the natural youthfulness and beauty still popping.

Regina Hall - 50
Kenneth Babyface Edmonds - 62
Taraji P. Henson - 51

I'll post more. Photos will be between 2020 and now. Mostly 2021. I don't care if it's seen as vain, I'm just celebrating Black beauty. If I don't, who will? Please feel free to add if you want to.

I agree, I'm younger than all those celebs you've posted and look much much older 😩

Damn my Irish skin!

SirVixofVixHall · 31/10/2021 12:21

I am a milk white celt, and I totally agree. Years ago I was in the swimming pool showers with another woman and we were chatting, she told me her age, she was 65, I was shocked as she looked about 40. She swore by Decleor skin care and told me to try it, but I think good genes must have been a significant factor..she had such beautiful, glowing skin, no noticeable lines or sagging at all.

ManifestingWisdom · 31/10/2021 12:34

I'm Irish and I think the Irish in Ireland age slower than Irish Australians or Americans who have had a bit of sun on their skin over the years. Not saying I wouldn't swap though. I'm 51 and my skin is still very evenly pale. No blotches or redness or freckles. Not saying I look 25, so far from it.

White woman here rushing out to buy some astral....

I definitely agree my Aunts mixed race children are gorgeous even well into their 60s you would never know it.

These folks do look exactly their age though Smile
Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 31/10/2021 12:45

Some truly gorgeous people on this thread, but it's not entirely nature given for some of them. There's been 'tweakments' along the way.
Much like the Tess Daly thread, naturally lovely but has had a bit of help.

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 31/10/2021 12:46

I shall also be buying Astral this week.

iNeedAteaPlease · 31/10/2021 12:46

@RoxOff

Naomi Campbell is a goddess. The woman looks the same now as she did in the 90s. Glorious skin, bone structure and natural physique.
…apart from the surgery?! Let’s be real, the surgery is never an improvement. It’s so sad to see the youngsters of today with the fake lips and noses. Ageing gracefully is the most elegant look of all.

I shall also be buying Astral this week.

"Oh Lawd! You must be from Black Mumsnet. Looking good with your Astral smile!"

brokenbiscuitsx · 31/10/2021 14:00

I have to say that Nivea Classic and Astral are almost the same.

TheBlackDarner · 31/10/2021 14:20

Indeed broken to be serious a moment, but, it's Astral that gives me the nostaligia moments remembering my Grandmother and Aunt Queenie all dressed up to killSmile
I wish I had a photo of them I could post, but not to be.

TheBlackDarner · 31/10/2021 14:21

*nostalgia, I mean to say...

BridesmaidHelp · 31/10/2021 14:56

After working with Dermatologists and Ophthalmologists on a recent course, I discovered Black women almost never really need Botox/filers and those that do use it generally don’t look better in my opinion.

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 31/10/2021 14:59

So is it purely a melanin thing then from a genetic perspective?

DeeCeeCherry · 31/10/2021 15:34

Black Woman, The Origin. We are genetically blessed😇 I love that.

Beautiful.

Bebabelouba · 31/10/2021 15:43

Totally agree with the beauty of those in pics posted. Anecdotally can also say I'd agree with this in RL.
Sorry to hijack a celebratory thread, but want to learn.
As a white person if I expressed the view ' back don't crack' could I be regarded as racist?

BridesmaidHelp · 31/10/2021 15:52

@Ihopeyourcakeisshitbprerfy much yes,

can’t count the number of times I’ve taken my mum to our Nigerian meetings having not kept up with them myself and met so many women not knowing how to address- like should I call them “Aunty” which I usually call everyone 10+ years older than me but it’s weird when I myself am 37.

Literally could not work out the age of some women looking 35 when they were actually 55.

TheBlackDarner · 31/10/2021 16:01

Probably not Bebabelouba, say, if part of a joyous observation of the thread. Context is key in all of these things.

Probably yes if you are wearing a Proud Boys t shirt and hijacking my Astral cream delivery. Wink

Meanwhile...... back at Great Genes Central........

lotussnow · 31/10/2021 16:15

It's okay to join in the appreciation and celebration.🍾 You can say it. Black don't crack.
