Morning! didn't mean to scare you nymph Wink...

You must be feeling a bit twitchy tiredfeet about the possibility of another early birth, I bet every day over 31 weeks will feel like borrowed time!

I've been feeling a lot of lower abdominal pressure and its very uncomfortable. When I saw the mw last week she said it was head down- well that head is really pressing. I'm going to the loo for nothing iyswim!

Its the weekend! anyone heard from Seashells recently? she's our normal Friday 5 lady....

shieldbug · 06/08/2010 10:09

floozie Sounds like you are getting sensible care. Here's hoping this one can hold on for longer. Hope you have a lovely party.

elsa I get al lot of pressure at the bottom of the bump too- sproglet it also head down. I think some of it is bh though as it all seems to tighten for a while then eases off. Are others finding that too?

awww dilly I'd feel tragic if dh had to go away for one night, let alone a few, so lots of sympathy. Mind you, part of it would also see it as an opportunity to watch programmes/dvds that he hates and to eat lots of fish/ other stuff he won't touch!

WRT nightie, there's an offer on at the mo and M&P, but if you all decide to buy, make sure there's still one of the jersey wrap around one and the stripey one in size 10/12 by tonight, when I can get to the credit card!! I can't believe I've gone up so many dress sizes; I used to be an 8 pre-pg Sad

heh heh shieldbug I'll be off down the dvd shop for the Grey's Anatomy box set later on... don't you worry!

piesey · 06/08/2010 11:15

Hi everyone

floozie glad your scan was ok and the baby is growing well! I've got a scan next Tuesday and I'm excited to see baby again - it will have grown so much since the last one (I hope). And congrats on 15 years together! DH and I have been together 5 years at the start of November - we are wondering if the baby might come on our anniversary if it is late, which would be nice!

Had my Anti-D injection yesterday (eventully - I was at the hospital for 3 hours!). It was fine but my goodness my arm is sore this today. They had a check of me too and apparently the baby is curren;ty head down which is good!

I occassionally get a weird pressure feeling and can't bend or move very easily - could this be if the baby is pushing it's back against the front of my tummy? It feels like it is as my tunny goes very hard - and it's quite painful until it moves again.

Hermya321 · 06/08/2010 11:27

Floozie Glad your scan went well and that baby seems to be growing very well.

Shieldbug That nightie looks nice, I may have to partake in some purchasing tonight myself.

Elsa123 · 06/08/2010 13:04

Yay on the scan Floozie!

Thanks for the links Shieldbug I think I might buy some bits. I have some M&P shorts which are size 8 and fit fine, I think they add a little room for weight gain so perhaps you might be ok?

Piesey I think I was lucky not to get a sore arm the next day- I hope you're feeling better. Its a lot of fluid isn't it?!

I am feeling rather pleased with myself right now- just found some useful info for someone in a tight spot who was somewhere in the world where they could not access information resources. I found the stuff when every other person he'd asked had gone 'I dunno' or words to that effect. And it only took me 30 mins. And I didn't even know the info existed or what it might look like before I started [smug emoticon]. I think it makes up for my tardiness earlier inthe week Wink.

shieldbug · 06/08/2010 13:08

elsa- "I am feeling rather pleased with myself right now- just found some useful info for someone in a tight spot who was somewhere in the world where they could not access information resources". What in Iraq or Afghanistan?? Wink

DillyDora · 06/08/2010 13:11

Shieldbug ssssh! She can't tell us! She's a spy! She'd have to kill us all! Anyway, I think it was probably Russia...

Elsa123 · 06/08/2010 13:17
Smile
piesey · 06/08/2010 13:37

Elsa it was a lot of liquid! I was quite surprised. I'm feeling fine - it's only if I knock my arm that I feel it. Next one in 6 weeks!

Hermya321 · 06/08/2010 16:29

Elsa Do they do specialised equipment for pregnant spies? I think I'm going with Dilly on the Russia one.....but sshhhhh!!!!

DillyDora · 06/08/2010 16:36

Yes, you're right Hermya you'd need a maternity trench coat wouldn't you?

shieldbug · 06/08/2010 16:53

Hope you all have a lovely weekend. Dh and I are off to the ROI next week, so we're hoping for better (or at least warmer) weather than we've been having in NI recently! Dh is insisting we have a relaxing holiday, but I don't like just lying around so I'm taking lots of books, some crochet stuff (to make a blanket), a puzzle book, and my binoculars. I'm hoping to get brave enough to appear in a swimming costume (my legs have got very fat compared with what they used to be). I think floating in a pool will be lovely for relieving some of the weight of the bump.

Well, cheerio for now, look after yourselves and no doubt there'll be lots of posts to catch up with when I return!

Hermya321 · 06/08/2010 16:57

Like this one? Dilly?

Oh I had my 28 week check today, alls going great and midwife had a feel of my tummy. LO is apparently breech, but obviously at this stage they're all over the place so it's not really an issue.

Although when she felt my tummy and went 'oh that feels like a head', the thought suddenly occured to me; 'I have a baby with a head, my baby is a person with a head'. I know this is something I should of realised sooner [dumb blonde emotion] but I think I've just thought of this baby in more abstract terms rather than as a actual live human being. I had to eat some chocolate after that one. Anyone else had similar thoughts?

DillyDora · 06/08/2010 16:59

Have a lovely time shieldbug you'll be fine in your swimsuit, I bet, I've put on a couple of inches round my hips, and I think my thighs look fatter (certainly wobblier!) I think it's the way it's supposed to be Grin

Also - on cosmetic issues...what I believe to be my linea negra is ahem...also making a circle round my tummy button! I look most odd!
Anyone else gone kinda funny lookin'?!

lilmissmummy · 06/08/2010 19:48

I've gone kind of funny looking - I have linea negra running from under my nipples to the edge of the brown part of my boob (cant remember what it is called!)

sorry if that was tmi :)

Good to hear that all babies are doing well!

Love the maternity trench coat - just perfect for Elsa and her secretive missions!

AbFabT · 06/08/2010 20:07

floozie, I had it made by a lady who normally makes quilts - I liked the fabric she had, and wanted something bespoke. I put the link upthread. She charged me £65, which I felt was reasonable - about the same price as off-the-shelf ones, only I got to choose fabric! :)

floozietoozie · 07/08/2010 00:42

Piesey that hard tightening feeling is a braxton hicks contraction almost certainly. My LOs head is down too which is good.

Shieldbug have a lovely holiday and good luck with the weather. Do try and relax - it's your last chance!!!

I'm chuffed because today I found a leaflet (in an electrical shop bizarrely) advertising a baby show not far away at the start of Sept. I'm going to round up my pregnant mates and see if they fancy a day out at it.

DillyDora · 07/08/2010 13:42

Hello Beauties! How is everyone today?

I finally have time to post about something that happened this week, I've been dying to tell you. There's a woman at work who is famous for saying the wrong thing. I really don't think she means any harm, I think she doesn't even know how offensive she is being. Anyway, alarmingly she's quite fond of me and having just got back from a long period on secondment abroad she stopped by my office and came out with these clangers:
"you mustn't use the computer! It's totally forbidden for pregnant women, you will have a miscarriage! Have you had any bleeding?!"
"O no! Don't call him Tobias, it has the word 'bias' in it, you don't want him to be schizophrenic...You could call him Matthew..."

WTF?! It's all I can do not to burst out laughing. Also she implied I was looking big ('yes, well anyone can see the baby is growing! Really growing!') and as you know no one has said anything like that yet.

LOL at your linea nigra lilmiss, I feel better now I know I have company Wink

Tyson86 · 07/08/2010 17:17

Dilly What a odd woman you work with!

Have a good hol shieldbug, very jealous of you :)

Hermya Love your baby with a head moment,it made me smile :)

I had my first experience of Braxton Hicks i believe 2 evenings ago, i was sitting down and had tightenings, similar to labour but not as bad, still hurt though Sad

Ds did his first poo in his potty today! He is 2.2 years old and iam very proud of him. Grin

nymphadora · 07/08/2010 18:18

On phone on way back from Ikea!
Had a lazy morning & was trawling baby stuff on Internet when dh suggested Ikea for this afternoon so off we went. They have some nice baby stuff & cheap. Will be back for toys etc as I forgot how much I like their toys! Also looked at Mothercare. The spin won't have the suspension for cobbles but the my choice has potential. Were in dh car so couldn't check but it folded smallish and was fairly light.

DillyDora · 07/08/2010 18:21

Yay for DS tyson!

Elsa123 · 08/08/2010 12:46

Afternoon all- congrats to your DS Tyson!

We picked up our Mothercare Spin yesterday and put it together last night and the chassis has been put together incorrectly inthe factory so the pram won't lie flat, but at an angle, so the baby's feet would be above its head. Very annoyed and we've arranged to take it back the week after next and they're ordering another one which we will try out in the shop. Grr.

Also I bought a light I really liked from BHS for the baby's room which is bohemian crystal, so all different colours. I was looking forward ot putting it up and when we opened it, someone else had already had it and the inside was filled with empty bags and there were srystals missing. Not impressed. Going to take it back, ask for a replacement and a discount for the journey travelled. double grr.

Whats everyone doing for cot bedding (If you're using a cot that is)?

moonstorm · 08/08/2010 15:02

Hello everyone! Just nipping back in. We've been on holiday and are going away again next week! Trying to catch up with everything! Dh away next week, so don't know whether I'll get much time on here next week after looking after ds!! (Either that or I'll be on all of the time Wink )

All's good with me, just tired constantly and enormous!!!

Hermya321 · 08/08/2010 15:43

I've been so lazy today, I had a sandwich for lunch and then fell asleep on the sofa for two hours Confused.

Elsa I've picked out a couple of blankets for the cot, some baby sleeping bags and some sheets. I figured I would then be prepared for whatever happened then.
