No i mean i only had 5 movements today, till i went hospital, now its about 500 And yesterday she only moved a handful of times. Your little one should be ok, the mw said if she doesnt move more than 10 times in 12 hours, ive got to go back in again.

Hermya321 · 02/08/2010 21:24

Oh right, gotcha!! No mine is a right fidget, constantly wriggling. I'm glad little Sophie is ok though. BTW fantastic name choice, I know a little girl called Sophie and she is just brilliant.

Tyson86 · 02/08/2010 21:34

Thank you Hermya, but ive got to confess dh chose the name as i named our ds. I love te name though.
Yours sounds very well, its lovely when they are fidgeting.

lilmissmummy · 02/08/2010 21:39

Hi all, Sorry I have been missing in action for a while - the days seem to all blend into one when the children are on holiday.

Loving hearing about all your shopping news! I have done very little still, have a cot, a pushchair, car seat, crib, 2 babygrows (I bought tesco's Winnie the Pooh ones - neutral colours!!), and a packet of disposable nappies!

Has anyone received their HIP yet? I sent my forms off last week and very excited about receiving it!

I agree with Floozie and buy a couple of bits in newborn and then the rest in 0-3 also if the babygrows are too small, you can always cut the feet off.

I presume this baby will be around 7lb as I was 7lb6, dh was 5lb12, ds was 7lb7 and dd was 6lb11.

Sorry to hear about your mole Dilly hopefully it is just a case of everything getting larger in pregnancy!

lilmissmummy · 02/08/2010 21:41

I have been to my GTT this morning and have just been told that my blood sugar was high so I am off to the hospital again tomorrow to get all the info! feeling very miserable about it. SPD, anaemia and now GD bloody falling apart!

Good to hear that Sophie is okay though. Mine is a fidget too! It is so comforting when they do fidget. I bet you were so worried!

Elsa123 · 03/08/2010 09:19

Morning all- Lilmiss good luck with the GD thang, how annoying.

Right, work comparisons. My leave year starts 1 Apr and I am allowed to carry over up to 15 days. However, as I plan to have a year's maternity leave, that would leave me with quite a lot of leave to take on my return between late Oct 11 and 1 Apr 12. I have 30 days left to take before maternity leave, so, as long as the baby is not early or if I do not get booted into maternity leave early, I'm taking 20 days from the 11 Sep 10 which will take me to 10 Oct 10 where upon I will start maternity leave, 4 days before my EDD.

Well actually, thats 4 days before my scan dated EDD, but if my dates are right, I will start my mat leave on my EDD....

I am taking a week off from 16-20 Aug and hopefully a few random days between 20 aug-10 Sep, though I have to subtract the bank holiday from my leave quota, so I'll have 4 days left.

slept bably AGAIN last night. I had to get up to go to the loo at 2330, 0130 and 0505 and for the second night in a row got night sweats and an overactive mind. Great. Its my wedding anniversary tonight and I'm meeting my DH in London for dinner. I did suggest a show, but he rather sensibly suggested that I might be a tad too tired for that....

RooBear · 03/08/2010 09:31

Morning, I slept terribly . Cocked up at work yesterday and its been on my mind all night, and although everyone is being nice and saying we all make mistakes I still feel useless and I'm paranoid they will be talking behind my back (which happens a lot round here). Plus I had cramp in my toes and kept waking up like my whole foot was bruised? Like someone had dropped a brick on it or something. Might need to sleep at my desk! Good news on the movements tyson sending good thoughts to lilmiss

Elsa123 · 03/08/2010 10:04

Oh roo, Its rubbish when you cock up at work isn't because no matter what you do you can't help thinking about it all night. Try not to worry too much about it because if people are being nice about it, chances are they're not thinking behind your back that you're an idiot. If someone cocked up at my work, and I'd been nice about it, I genuinely wouldn't be thinking or talking behind their back. S**t happens and there's probably loads thats happened to the others and its just not been as apparent.....

Cramps the pits isn't it? I'm currently sat at my desk and, as you can probably tell, I cannot be bothered to do any work and I am really losing interest. I also have a baby who cannot work out whether to squish a foot under my ribs or out over the top of them...dead comfy.

DillyDora · 03/08/2010 10:17

Morning all,

Sorry about the bad night Roo I think it's sort of worse when you make a mistake when pg, I really get what you're saying.

Sorry to you too lilmiss for all the ailments, rubbish rubbish rubbish. You don't live in North London by any chance do you? My ante natal yoga teacher is really great at giving perspective on these sorts of things...y'know about how it's all a lesson and stuff (without sounding nauseating!) anyway, let me know.

Glad Sophie's ok Tyson

I woke with a real start last night from a dream that I was being kicked in the stomach by a mouse... I rather think it was not a mouse....

Nymph thanks for bath tips, I'm going to practice with my friend's baby next week .. hee hee!

floozie yes, the leave year starts in Sept so it's sort of good and bad. Anyway, better if I am working at the beginning of the academic year...

Hermya321 · 03/08/2010 11:02

Roo Oh I'm sorry you're not sleeping well, I hope work goes well.

I didn't sleep well either due to SPD and the old heartburn and am now sat at home watching crap TV in my pjs.

With regards to my leave, it starts in January every year and a little intranet site tells me what I have left and when I've taken it which is quite good. I'm going to have to go into work in January and book my leave for the rest of the year before everyone else gets a look in.

Elsa123 · 03/08/2010 11:10

Dilly I love your dream! I can just imagine a small mouse aiming kicks with teeny tiny feet at your tummy!

I can't be bothered with work- there is nothing, absolutely nothing, that I want to do. do you know what I want to do? Go to the Roald Dahl museum in Great Missenden and then go to Cafe Twit....

Hermya321 · 03/08/2010 11:23

Elsa I know what you mean about work. BTW I personally would love to go Cafe Twit, sounds like fun.

Tyson86 · 03/08/2010 11:23

Lilmiss hope you are ok. sounds like yourhaving a tough time atm. I received my HIP grant last Thursday.
Roo Sorry you had a bad night, dont worry if they are gossiping behind your back, it wont be long and you'll be on mat leave?
Dilly lol at your dream!
Elsa Happy wedding anniversary, hope you have a great night!
Hope everyone gets a better night sleep tonight.

DillyDora · 03/08/2010 11:36

Ooh yes happy wedding anniversary Elsa I think you should go to the Roald Dahl museum, I'd love to come! I'm crunching numbers for a report using a stats package, I cannot tell you how bad I am at this but I am determined...also have to enter some data...Jeez my life is fun...

I also received my HIP grant in double quick time.

Hermya are you sleeping propped up for the indigestion? It takes a bit of getting used to (and I don't know if it will aggravate your SPD somehow as you need to be kind of on your back only half upright)but it really helps

Elsa123 · 03/08/2010 12:10

Thank you!

Did you get notification that your HIP grant has come through or did you have to keep checking your bank account?

I have a soft belly at the moment that does not feel too big because I have a baby wedged diagonally under my left ribs, stretching out to my right hip bone. Its a tad uncomfortable. My DH was remarking on how pregnant women seem to instinctively and 'unknowingly' rub their bumps in public. Have pointed out to him it may well be down to trying to move a limb, head, bottom sticking in somewhere really uncomfortable!

shieldbug · 03/08/2010 12:24

elsa I agree- it's not an unknowing rub, it's trying to calm a wriggly baby or as you say to try to move the baby to a more comfortable position. I'm also getting lots of foot in the ribs action!
Happy anniversary- enjoy your night out.

lilmiss sorry to hear you are having it rough. Hope you are getting plenty of support.

I've just realised that I may be entitled to some money from the government because my grant providers don't pay me the full statutary pay. Thing is, do I qualify as employed if I get a student grant, or not? Anyway, I'm trying to work it all out and to make things more difficult, the government website isn't working and I may only have a few days to put in any claim. Yikes. It would be just my luck if after assuming I didn't qualify for anything I find that actually I do but it's all too late.

sam12 · 03/08/2010 12:28

Happy anniversary Elsa have a lovely night.
I did get notification that my HIP grant had come through but it came through about 4-5 days after the actual money had gone into my bank account.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes had a lovely day with my friends.

I am currently looking after my friend's dog and two cats which is giving me a good reason to get up early every day and go for a few long walks. It is so easy to get lazy in the summer holidays

30 weeks yesterday- which is exctiting but whenever I see the state of the house I just want to cry- I cannot see how it is possibly going to be ready in time.

lilmissmummy · 03/08/2010 12:30

Aww its our anniversary on Sunday, happy anniversary Elsa Oooh I want to go to the Roald Dahl museum! I didnt even know there was one there!!!!

Hope you day went better today and you are feeling a bit less worried about the cock up Roo I am sure in a couple of days they will all be gossiping about something else!

Thanks Dilly No unfortunately I dont live in North London, I am in Wiltshire so it is a bit far to come but your Yoga teacher sounds fantastic!

My HIP grant turned up in my account this morning so I am a bit happier today and I feel much more positive (It just turned up with no notfication). The GD also explains why I have been feeling so rubbish so hopefully with that sorted I will have a energy burst (hoping)! Looking forward to hearing what the doctor has to say today.

Hermya my doctor gave me some pink liquid for indigestion and heartburn and it is fantastic so maybe worth mentioning to the midwife!

I constantly rub my belly!

I'll update later with what the doctor says!

BackAgain · 03/08/2010 12:32

Elsa happy wedding anniversary and hope you sleep better tonight. I got my HIP grant last week so probably took 2 weeks to come through, just appeared in my bank account and 2 days later I got a confirmation letter.

Roo understand how you feel about work situation as I am the same and find it hard not to worry. I made a mistake in an email that the CEO sent out and it bothered me for ages. I am sure people are not talking about you behind your back, they probably have their own mistakes to worry about!

Lilmiss good luck with the GD, hope things pick up soon

Nymph can't believe you are almost finished work, I have 8 days to go but as only working 2 days a week now that will take me to the end of the month - can't wait

Just had my 28 week check with midwife and all seems good. I am measuring a bit big but she said not to worry so I won't. Did a bit more shopping yesterday, just a few baby clothes at the Asda baby event and practical things for me (maternity pads, Lansinoh etc). For those of you who want to breastfeed I also picked up some Tommee Tippee cooling nipple pads - didn't know about these last time and they might help with sore nipples which is something I really suffered from so might be useful for others and they were on special offer in Asda.

Hermya321 · 03/08/2010 12:43

Dilly I have started to prop myself up a bit more, but as I'm not used to it so it's taking a while to get comfy at the moment.

Shieldbug You may be entitled to maternity allowence, my SIL was as she didn't get paid statutory pay.

Elsa Happy Anniversery!!!

nymphadora · 03/08/2010 13:04

Can't reply to everyone am on phone at work slow connection.

V bad pain in my side in the night. Nearly made dh take me to hosp but 30 mins wandering eased it & more of less gone now. Made me realise we need middle of the night plan for kids though.

OP posts:
shieldbug · 03/08/2010 13:07

Well the website is working again and the bad news is that I haven't done enough work in the last year or so for MA(I need to have done 26 weeks and I've only demonstrated in uni for just over a term in total). Since dh earns over the allowance for other benefits, seems like we won't be getting any more money (boo!). It seems ironic that if I had earned more, I would be entitled to money, but because I got paid v little, I get nothing now!

lilmiss happy anniversary to you too. Hope you have a lovely day.

Hermya321 · 03/08/2010 14:38

Shieldbug I would go to Citizens Advice and get that checked out just in case, you never know.

Tyson86 · 03/08/2010 14:42

Elsa It was in my bank thursday, i checked for my wages, but also got a letter yesterday saying it will be in my bank in the next 7 days, i had already spent it by then lol.

dontstopmenow · 03/08/2010 14:42

I'm the same Shieldbug, Having been a student for 3 years means I get zip money from the government as hubby earns over the basic allowance. Very annoying as I worked for 12 years before doing degree, and paid NI contributions all the way through. Ah well. Its not to be.
