Once show has happened I fink it's a no sex thing cos isn't the show the protective plug? Correct me plz if I am wrong.

< is still keeping bet placed on Weds for igg>

OkieCokie · 19/07/2010 21:30

you know what they say... ahem, swallowing it instead is supposed to move things along...

rollerbaby · 19/07/2010 21:32

Silver that makes sense. In which case Iggo substitute sex for nipple tweaking, whilst eating curry on bouncy ball.

I think Wednesday nite will be it.

rollerbaby · 19/07/2010 21:32

Oooooh Okie you rudey.

Mr Moo refusing to do it in front of the dog. How unreasonable is that? I have needs!!!

OkieCokie · 19/07/2010 21:40

I always put the cat out when we do (although it hassn't happened for a while), it is offputting!

rollerbaby · 19/07/2010 21:50

Sadly our dog doesn't take kindly to being shut out. Let's just say it was offputting as he kept jumping up and trying to play. Jesus what has my life become? I have to get a babysitter to have sex????

FannyPriceless · 19/07/2010 21:55

Yay iggs. Hope it's going well. I have been quietly confident of a due date baby-lay for you. Watcha reckon?

SkiHorseWonAWean · 20/07/2010 05:42

OMG iggy! Best of luck today - don't lose sight of the prize they are so worth it!

You're very quiet these days *cossie, are you OK? On ML yet?

To those of you expecting boys - poo under ball sack.

SkiHorseWonAWean · 20/07/2010 05:48
CurlyCasperBaggedABairn · 20/07/2010 08:38

iggy, iggy, iggy oi, oi, oi!

Excellent news. Just remember, I had a show on Weds morning and a baybee by Thursday at noon. Hope it all goes swiftly and smoothly. can't wait to hear about the last of the "July" Four. Best of luck and lots of happy, relaxed thoughts.

Of course, if you're still around, keep chatting

ski sounds nasty. However, I am finding that little girls' bits are equally bad at gathering crap. Unfortunately (or fortunately, for the future) my little girl does not easily allow access to that area.

moo we rarely do it in front of the dog, but I do think she might have been in the room the morning Squeaker was conceived...

iggypiggy · 20/07/2010 08:52

Morning all. Nothing more to report here... Few small achey cramp type feelings, but nothing more yet... Could be days innit... Although could be quick like casp...

Cosmosis · 20/07/2010 08:55

Oooh iggy a show! Yay!! That is deffo Something Happening.

ski I am ok ta, just quite busy really. Not on ML yet, finish at end of next week, and have a lot of work on at the mo so not really had time to hang out here much. Did actually start packing the hossie bag yesterday though!

We have hosp tour tomorrow, and final private scan after that, can?t wait to see Artie again and see how big it?s got. I?m still ok, my bump is getting pretty achy now at the end of the day, I think just due to being heavy ? a couple of people have said they think it has dropped over the last weekish, but we?ll see what the mw says at the next appointment next week.

CurlyCasperBaggedABairn · 20/07/2010 09:08

iggy I know we are all different, but those small achey cramps were about the extent of my contractions until I was past 3cm. They monitored me and recorded contractions I was not even noticing. But, there were still a good few hours between the contractions starting to be a bit more "noticeable" and the birth itself, so relax and make the most of the calm before the storm. Your baybee is on it's way!

At least one of us will have a baby on one of our due dates (even if it's not your own!)

And excitement starting to build for cossie too.

SomethingSuitablyWitty · 20/07/2010 09:26

EEEeeeekkk! Iggy baby high alert! Will be checking in for updates! Two close friends of mine have had babies in the last two days, so I think that the planets have aligned or something.

To come back to the lying in bed debate, I must also just note that things are not helped by the heat! I just can't get comfortable these days. When I lie on my back I get this pounding heartbeat/cord beat in my bump that makes me worry that I'm blocking a blood vessel and then the baby kicks a lot, so I am afraid she's panicking and so I quickly turn back again onto my crushed shoulder and side. What can I say, i'm a brave soldier.

muse I didn't want to tell people until twelve weeks either. In the end we told family before then, and everyone else after the scan. It is lovely to tell - but I would restrict it to just a few for now.

Honey and reggie you are giving me the fear again! I have still got nothing organised. What's a stokke? Bet it's vital. I know, I'll make a list! Hurrah! THis will help I think.

cho! Great to see you here. Yes, maternity bras are awful aren't they. I got so depressed when I bought mine - also around 12 weeks actually. They are truly vile. Like horrible nursing home things with tasteless big straps that show all the time.. I also got some that are more sort of sporty looking. They are marginally better. But still dreadful really. boxy maybe it's time to repost the bra photo for Cho? It's a salutary lesson .

reggie delighted you are back! How's your bump? Has your belly button reversed yet? Mine's getting there - I am starting to feel I have a monstrously huge bump. Tell me this is normal?

Muser · 20/07/2010 09:48

Oh god, I feel deathly. Ski how did you cope with this for your entire pregnancy? I have thrown up every morning since Sunday and now want to cry. I feel dreadful and I have all this work to do and all I want to do is sleep.

OkieCokie · 20/07/2010 09:48

Iggs when I had those achy pains I went and did a big supermarket shop! Rumour has it if your waters go on the supermarket floor then free groceries for life! Not sure if it is true and I wouldn't advise going just for that sole purpose but may take your mind off things and it is a mission with a practical purpose too!

I think I have an in growing hair in my bikini line area (feels a bit like a boil) but I can't see it

OkieCokie · 20/07/2010 09:50

Muser that's what being updiffed is all about! However, can you take a day of? Can work wait for a day?

Muser · 20/07/2010 10:04

Too much going on just now to take time off, I just have to keep ploughing on and try not to faint again.

VoilaAnotherGimlet · 20/07/2010 10:04

Iggybaby is on its waaaayyyyyy! How exciting! Do you think it was Jeremy Kyle wot dun it?

Hooray for good scans and new Delifolk! Welcome ChoTheBrave!

RE: brassieres - I am 31 weeks and still in a normal underwire one, think it's ok, it isn't digging in anyway. Have been meaning to Hotmilk it but don't seem to find the time to go and get measured, between being overbusy/totally wiped out when not.

Is it bad that I am now having bad dreams re the reuseable nappies I've bought? Also I had a dream that Clint (actually Clintina) was out but after 5 days I had forgotten to feed her.....And on that topic, oh wise ones, as I am planning to breastfeed I wasn't going to buy the whole caboodle of FF equipment - is that really stupid? I am surrounded by shops where they can be got and I figure if I do need it then I can pop out. (Though I am not bullish about only BF'ing - however it seems less faffy than bottles etc [lazy cow emoticon]) Am all a dither.

Crossing the threshold into the 30s is quite scary. Think even Clint is finding it so, as I poked him last night and he kicked me hard right on the inside of my hipbone. Blimmin' made me jump! Emotions are running high among the people in my body at the moment.

CurlyCasperBaggedABairn · 20/07/2010 10:11

vag we didn't buy any bottle feeding stuff before Squeaker was born, but we had to start using expressed milk etc to top her up, so SFF was sent shopping. was easy enough to get when we needed it.

to anyone buying bottles - please consider going straight to the Dr Brown's ones. they have made an amazing difference here. special system keeps air bubbles out. only bought mine yesterday and already would not consider anything else.

Backinthebox · 20/07/2010 10:19

Glad to see Reggie is still with us!

Iggy I'm going to disagree with Okie and say from experience stading in a Tesco queue at peak time is really not much fun at a time when you could have a baby pop it's head out any time soon! Far nicer to take yourself out (or even better - get someone in) to do some pampering if you need your mind taking off things. I took Clucky out hunting when she needed distracting, but I am sure a pedicure or an aromatherapy massage would be equally as nice a way to pass time. Good luck anyway - whatever you do!

Switty - ah, yes, the bra photo! Not sure where I put it - that's bad isn't it, just leaving a pic of one's undies lying around? I'll hunt it down. Suffice to say, Exhibit A is a pre-preg 36A wisp of pale green and pink lace and Exhibit B is a 40EE flesh coloured post-baby monstrosity that could hold a pair of footballs. Truly shocking to see them next to each other! I will be trying to track down something more attractive to wear post baby this time round, given that I expect to be wearing them for about 10 months.

About the left side lying thing - I start off in that position each night but seem to keep waking up flat on my back. Given that I am completely paranoid about baby back-to-back-ness I was worrying that the couple of hours each day OFP I am doing was being cancelled out by the 5-6 hours a night being flat on my back, but baby seems to have turned round and is in a good position now (Stay!) so I am not worrying too much about it. I can still turn over in bed atm - last time I reached a stage where I couldn't even roll over, Can't remember when that was. Grabbing hold of the headboard and levering myself over using that seems to work a treat though.

Now for a small rant, and a 'am I menkul?' question. Firstly the rant. We are putting in planning permission for an extension. We live in a tiny 2 bedroom cottage which stands in it's own grounds of nearly 6 acres, so we are not short of space to put the extension. However, as the house is Grade 2 listed, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and has bats living in part of it, there are restrictions on what we can do. It also has one extremely damaged wall which was completely knackered due to previous occupants renovation bodges (an could eventually cause the entire end of the house to fall down,) and by chance this crappy bit of the house which needs something doing to it is also the bit that the planning department and conservation officer think are the best place to put an extension, both in terms of practicality and looks. We live in the middle of a forest with only one close neighbour - who lives in a splendid tudor manor house about 5 times the size of her place. We sent round copies of the plans as a courtesy, and last night she brought them back to us saying that she didn't want us to build an extension as she didn't want any building too large close to her house. FFS! She wants to count herself bloody lucky someone with more money than us didn't buy the place and either knock it down and rebuild it bigger, or put on a huge modern extension that would have tripled it in size, (as has happened to every other small house with land around here.) I wouldn't mind but in the last 3 years she has added an extension to her own house which is as big as our planned extension, put up stables right against our fenceline without planning permission, built a monstrous outdoor arena which is frankly an eyesore in an otherwise pretty spot, and turned her 1-bed annex into a 4 bedroom house. Yet gets upset when we want to add an extra bedroom and a box room. Get a life! Ah, that feels better.

And the 'am I menkul' bit - yesterday I paid my hunt subs for the winter. I have no horse suitable to hunt, and will have a newborn baby and a small child. What am I thinking? Even better, OH actually encouraged me, which given hunting subs are pricey is most unlike him!

PerfectDromedary · 20/07/2010 10:19

Muse TAKE TIME OFF! Nothing at work is as important as you feeling ok. Plus, if you run yourself into the ground, you'll end up having to take more time off in the long run because you will be signed off sick. Can you work from home at all?

Iggy Am excited - cautiously - for you!

Backinthebox · 20/07/2010 10:22

VAG I didn't have any FF stuff before DD was born. OH went out and bought a breastpump for me while I was in hospital as the nurses told me it was pointless trying to express milk as I had had a CS . You can buy more or less anything you need once the baby is here - don't panic!

Cosmosis · 20/07/2010 10:47

I have not bought any ff stuff or a pump etc, I figure that's the sort of thing the 24 hour tesco 10 mins away is for. and as I really want to bf, I think not having ff stuff in the house will make me think "I'll wait till mornign and see what it's like then" rather than reaching for bottle straight away.

SkiHorseWonAWean · 20/07/2010 10:56

boxer Report the bitch to the planning office for building without permission. Karma innit.

iggy You are having contractions.

muser At least you're not yet pissing down your legs. It will get worse. How about some onion rings? Have you burst all the blood vessels in your eyes yet from retching?

VAG Thread in other place about FF stuff.

switty Stokke is a brand that Fulham mummy wouldn't be without. Currently very much reduced at www.babydump.nl or www.babypark.nl. Ironically I saw a couple who were lost from the Jeremy Kyle line-up pushing a 1000 euro Stokke pram on Saturday morning... in to a 2nd hand shop.
