OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
smallblackflowers · 30/06/2010 12:54

canoe meant to tell you that my parents lived in Botswana - Gabs - for a couple of years in the early 90's - I was at boarding school and went out for holidays. Used to spend a lot of time by the pool at the Sun Hotel. Those were the days....

saintcatling · 30/06/2010 13:11

Hi Ladies,
I am (I think!) due roughly end of Feb, am approx 5 weeks now and did 3 positive tests last Friday so this is all new to me. First child too.
I've just posted the below in the main pregnancy forum and they suggested I pop the same here too, as I am having a really stressy day and have nowhere to turn. Not seeing Midwife for first time until 30 July. Has anyone had similar and can reassure me at all? Thanks ladies. x

*For the last week or so my boobs have been very sore and swollen but today this seems to have eased. I've also had a little bit of pinky brown discharge.
Otherwise still feeling just as tired as I was.
Am freaking out massively that the above means I've lost the baby, am stuck in the office and can't see a midwife until week 9 when I have my appointment which is 30 July.

Does this sound normal? Should my boobs hurt all the time? Is it worth taking another test?

Sorry for all the questions, I just feel completely alone.*

KnitterNotTwitter · 30/06/2010 13:17

saintcatling

yep - all normal
Tender boobs is a good sypmpom - you'll probably find they've gone up a size as you're milk ducts ripen or whatever it is they do!! They should stop hurting/tingling soon but in the meantime you might want to invest in a bigger and not underwired bra - a maternity one is preferable...
A bit of brown spotting is also normal - just your womb getting all excited as the baby implants and a whole new set of hormones kick in to make useful things like a placenta. In my opinion the womb is probably also having a last clear out of any residues of your last period - but that's not scientifically proven at all Obviously if your spotting were to get heavier and more 'period-like' then you'd be right to worry.

I assume you also want to join our merry bunch... I'll add you to the stats - can you also post up your age and location for completeness.

Don't worry

OP posts:
KnitterNotTwitter · 30/06/2010 13:21

Tarlia i used this Chinese Pregnancy Calculator here

OP posts:
saintcatling · 30/06/2010 13:23

Thank you :0) The thing I was worried about was the light spotting combined with boobs not being so sore today. I'm normally quite calm but that just made me panic and I got all tearful at work.
I have a million worries/questions!

I'm 31 and in Essex.

Glad I've found you all

angels1 · 30/06/2010 13:50

saintcalling I think symptoms are suppose to be up and down, that's all part of the 'fun' - not so bad one day, terrible another, so seriously, don't panic

KnitterNotTwitter · 30/06/2010 14:00

saintcatling being tearful is another super symptom of pregnancy... again it's your hormones being all over excited

And worrying is a great sign too - means you'll be a fab mum

OP posts:
KnitterNotTwitter · 30/06/2010 14:01

oooh - and i'll update your stats tomorrow... thanks for that. I'm trying to restrict myself to only one stats update a day

OP posts:
sweetnitanitro · 30/06/2010 14:02

Congrats and welcome saintcatling

*knitter8, you and my DH would get on like a house on fire, he'd probably be plotting graphs and all sorts That CPC says I'm having a boy, I must have used a different one!

knittakid · 30/06/2010 14:39

I'm glad I'm not the only one tired all the time...

So far just nausea for me, and as soon as I eat it goes away, but when I stop it comes back... so can I eat continuosly? I don't think I should...
Going on a trip tomorrow on a car driven by somebody else, under normal circumstances that'd be bad enough, but the mere thought of being sick makes me...well, sick.

Just did the CPC and I don't really know, because ov was right in between months...

I think we should add it to the stats and then compare.

Have a noce afternoon, I'm off to nap.

newdad75 · 30/06/2010 14:49

105 - I can't believe it!!!

But anyway; I used the CPC and it said we're having a boy (I don't care either way, but that would be amazing - though I'm sure The Good Lady will soon get tired of me dressing him up as a mini-me...).

I personally am still convinced that our little runner bean is a girl...

How're you all doing with not telling people by the way. After the scan at the w/e I'd happily tell the guy who served me my sandwich at lunch.

Tallybear · 30/06/2010 14:55

Hi all,

Age 33, location Wiltshire, first baby expected 16 Feb 10.

Morning sickness started on Sunday: feel sick whenever I eat anything, although seems to be easing off now - much worse in the morning! No other signs though, apart from very mild cramps. Saw Doctor this morning (I saw what others put on here about their surgeries not willing to make an appointment for you, but I didn't tell then what it was about. Actually, did it online, so they couldn't ask). This is my first and I needed some reassurance/advice!

I guess I need to start telling people now. Given that my MIL used to be a midwife and my mum used to work for the NCT, I'm dreading it!!

ledkr · 30/06/2010 15:32

hi all just checking in. Feeling much better than lst night and slept well despite worry.I am absolutely knackered today tho. never felt so tired.i went to work then shopping with dh and was walking around really slowly i almost feel like im putting it on. Just cycled to school to pick up dd and even tho its literally 3 mins across the park i feel like ive cycled miles.Have the dancing run to do now and then dinner packed lunches etc no wonder i am tired just want to curl up in a ball on sofa and watch come dine with me repeats.
First mw app tomorrow hopefully can arrange cvs etc so will be on a run for a worrying few weeks then but imagine the feeling when the results come back all well.We can actually tell people then. I think dd will collapse! Welcome to all new peoples and thanks to everyone for kind words last night.

Hi all !
I've been away from this for a while and just found it and caught up!! I've added my details - it looks like there's a few of us in SW London now

I'm still not feeling anything other than sore boobs and dappiness (getting on wrong trains, forgetting to put my trousers on...). Weird!

We told DSD and DSS at weekend they'll be 12 and 9 when prawn comes along and they're both very excited which was lovely. DSS did say "when you're better and not pregnant anymore can we go to Thorpe Park". Couldn't put it better myself :-)

KnitterNotTwitter · 30/06/2010 15:52

Lulabel oooh - very close to me and Professor... I can feel a Richmond Park related meet-up coming on one day....

Hi SBF It's amazing how many people used to live here, or had parents here for a time. It'll have changed so much since the 90's though - almost unrecognisable. But the Gabs Sun is still pretty nice, we go there sometimes for dinner - they've got a nice sun terrace...

angels1 · 30/06/2010 16:34

ledkr you're making me tired just looking at everything you have to do today! lol

lulabel the thought of forgetting to put your trousers on is just making me giggle at the thought.

I heard from someone at work today (been signed off as so sick) and apparently at work they continue to guess what's wrong with me, as it's not common knowledge. Apparently the guesses ranged from pregnancy ('ding') to my DH leaving me (erm,no!)

ledkr · 30/06/2010 16:47

haha angels i sent dh out to do dancing run he normally doesnt as he feels a perv in the changing rooms so i got her ready here and hes doing a quick drop.I am now meant to be having a rest but am hoping that dhs strange grinning friend does not come to call for him to go to the gym until he is back as i find him a tad hard work and run out of pleasantries after few minutes. How funny to think/talk/type about something instead of pg for once. I am smiling at the thought of the inane grinning balding friend(i am so wicked)How fab to be signed off. hope it helps. I was considering a little preg related illness during the summer hols to help with childcare costs but prob wont do it unless really do get somthing.
felt bit icky today and when im hungry boy do i need to eat. I rushed dh into morrisons cafe today and then when i saw the food felt sick and left-i love that i can be so erratic without him questioning it.I spat water out of the bedroom window on him as he pottered in the garden last night and then giggled while he looked about trying to see where it came from. When he realised it was me he said he was just pleased i was not moaning haha cheek

leelteloo · 30/06/2010 17:17

Hi All, I know i might be seen as very dim/blond for asking this but what does the 6+5 now appeared in the stats, does the 6 refer to number of weeks pregnant? but not sure about the +5?
Is someone going to update that every week? And did someone put us all in order of weeks along? Because if so AMAZING and you are obviously not suffering the same placenta brain I am as I can hardly remember my own name at the moment, so hats and trousers (lulabel ) off to you!

Chloe55 · 30/06/2010 17:19

Your post has just cheered me up ledkr. Dh would have thought the same re the spitting if I had done it. He has had to calm me down on more than one frantic phone call about stat mat allowance and generally feeling like I want to not be working and just curl up and die today. I have never felt so rough in my last pg as I seem to with this one. I actually feel like I have flu, or maybe I have?

angels1 · 30/06/2010 17:26

ledkr believe me, it's no fun being signed off sick, I'd much rather feel good enough to work (but I tesch children to cook for my job, and the smells, the smells!). Instead, I'm stuck on the sofa every day with no one to talk to (as they don't know I'm pg/not at work) unable to get up most times from tiredness and feeling sick. The meds the doc gave me yesterday for sickness were a real help....for the first 12 hours, and since then have been wearing off so I've spent the past 2 hours sniffing lemons, sipping water, trying to eat, doing the nevasic CD, and everything else to feel more human. Think I need to increase the dose. What I wouldn't give to be symptom free/less!! Oh, and hope you've not had a visit of the bald variety!!

leeteloo and +5 is how many days you are past that week e.g. 6 weeks and 1 day would be 6 +1

milliemoocow · 30/06/2010 17:26

Just wanted to say goodbye to the group got taken ill at work yesterday with heavy bleeding got kept in yesterday night, my hcg count nearly 7000 but when they scanned me saw severe bleeding in womb and clotting and not much sign of pregnancy so looks like misscarrage :-(

Wish u all luck with your pregnancys and sorry to be leaving you are a great bunch

ledkr · 30/06/2010 17:26

i feel like you do at 8 months i am walking like a prg woman and find it really hard to go up the 5 flights of stairs at work(lift broken)i dont actually mind working as it passes the time. The fatigue is amazing isnt it?i literally feel hungover(i wish)
it does go off at 12wks tho have you tried iron? leel- the plus means days eg i am 8+3 8 wks 3 days ok

ledkr · 30/06/2010 17:30

oh millie i am sooooo sorry i know how you feel. What a shock. Wishing you the very best and i know it doesnt help yet but there nearly always is a reason and at least you know you can conceive, good luck and hope you back on another thread soon xx
