Hi,

My first child is due in Nov and I live in Greenwich. I would love to get together with some other local mums to be maybe compare bumps, pregnancy and chat over a coffee?

Anyone else locally due this Autumn?

All welcome!

Would be fab to meet you and get together. Can you make 25th?

Off on holiday today... only 2 hours away so hopefully will make it home if labour starts!
Am begining to wonder about my sanity though at 38+1 and will be 39+1 when I get home!

Had nightmare day yesterday... DS, 7, fell down the stairs and split his head open. Couldn't believe the blood! Anyway I managed not to go into labour and his head is now nicely glued back together (wonderful invention).

So I lost my afternoon of packing and so now have to dash around like a mad thing and do it... but instead I'm catching up on mumsnet!

Be back next week, have fun on the 25th!

38+1

SecretArdilla · 20/08/2010 15:03

Stick....

oh my god... I hope DS is doing well. And you need to chill out, 38+1 and going on hols is quite amazing, just relax and enjoy.

Keep us informed of what's happening...

Stick - poor boy! Hope he is ok? Holiday sounds like exactly what you need! Enjoy it and see you when you get back.

Hi all,

Unfortunately, I am no longer able to make it this evening - having a pre-birthday (tomorrow) treat from my lovely OH...

Will see you all at the next one...

Leepod aka podmumlet. x

PS: Hope DS is feeling better Stick, and that you are having a fabulous holiday..

londonbump · 25/08/2010 17:25

Happy birthday for tom leepod! Enjoy your treat. Everyone else I've booked a big table in the restaurant at the Vanbrugh. See you there! Looking forward to it xxxx

It was fab to see you all again and meet some new bumps!

Rachelle - for some reason the email you gave me keeps bouncing. If you could send me a private message with it again i'd appreciate it. Grin

Some of us were chatting about a catch up with partners?

How does an afternoon one sound?
Sunday 12th September all children / babies / partners welcome?

Maybe a picnic in the park (weather permitting - i'm still hanging onto the hope we will have a late summer!!)

or somewhere for a drink?

Any suggestions?

Hi Londonbump

picnic in the park sound really good, let's hope the weather is good. Otherwise, we could meet at the Vanbrugh again for a soft drink?

Beaurevage · 26/08/2010 11:46

Had a great time as well and picnic in the part does sound good.

Londonbump - realised what i did when i got home (used married name instead of maiden name!). Trying to contact you privately but the system's not letting me sign up. B gave me her business card, I'll send her an e-mail and ask her to forward it on to you.

Just want to apologise for not turning up on Wednesday - all day I just felt totally worn out & had one of those shattered pregnancy days - just needed to get home & sleep!

Picnic sounds lovely - am also hoping for a last gasp summer after this washout!

londonbump - thanks for the birthday wishes, I had a truly wonderful and pampered day!

I think a meet-up with partners is a great idea! We may not be able to make the suggested date as we are planning one last baby-free, late summer holiday before the next new exciting chapter :)

Great idea though - and will be watching this space!

Hello everyone!

I've made it home from my mad end of pregancy holiday! Managed not to go into labour on the beach! Still hoping for a September baby so need to keep legs crossed for another 5 days!

Glad your last meet up went well. Picnic sounds like a good idea... by then I should have 3 children Grin so a park will prob be more managable than a pub for us! Although can always leave the older 2 with grandparents if it comes to it!

Leepod - was lovely to see you again the other week. And happy birthday for yesterday!

Beaurevage · 27/08/2010 17:08

On Wednesday a couple of books were mentioned....one not so fondly, but the other - baby whisperer - was mentioned as great. Just want to make sure I have the correct author: Tracy Hogg. Is that right?

Happy birthday btw!!

R

podmumlet · 29/08/2010 21:00

Thanks for the wishes Stick {hugs}, and glad to hear that baby didn't make a surprise beach debut!!

Beaurevage - yes, Tracy Hogg has indeed written the Baby Whisperer :)

Would love to join the picnic. My OH is off to Oz on business for a couple of weeks tho, so it will just be me and bump though......

Been having quite a time lately... My boobs have been driving me bonkers! But I treated myself to a fitting and some gooorgeous bras from Bravissimo (following many positive recommendations on MN) and am feeling human again :) :)

Also, getting awful, awful pains in my bum cheeks.. Been reading on MN and googling, and it seems it may be related to Sciatica and could be something called Piniformis Syndrome which is not uncommon in pregnancy....

All these changes are sometimes a wee bit surreal... :D :D

Lee - I went to a physio for my lower back / pelvic pain. Made a big difference, felt loads better! I can recommend Sarah at The Vanbrugh Physio Clinic on Trafalgar Road in Greenwich. I rang and got an appointment the same day and she is trained in pregnancy / womens physio. Grin I had three appointments and (touch wood) no problems since.

Stick - great news you are still on for a Sept baby (Well in 36 hours!) and you had a good holiday.

I have just been given Baby Whisper book and look forward to reading it. It is meant to be very good.

I think the GF book is worth a read if you are interested in a routine (of any description) only to discount her ideas/ pick and choose the bits you like or suit you. She has some useful tips at the beginning about setting up the nursery + getting ready for baby.

I can't believe I'm 30 weeks on Thurs!! Going SOOO quick now! How are you all feeling?

Hope you are all well. Looking to a picnic (fingers crossed) on the 12th

good morning everyone,

Lee - I have been to the Vanbrugh physio clinic before and I highly recommend them too.

Stick - One more day and the LO will be a September babs. I hope you can make it.

I have a nasty sore throat and I am so congested that it is so difficult to breath. I'm at home resting today, I'm hoping to feel better tomorrow.

My rib pain is killing me especially in the afternoons and evenings. Anyone who can give me some tips to treat the rib pain??? I would be most appreciated.

I think my hubbie and I have now agreed on a pram. I never ever thought it was such a difficult task to find a pram. I think the problem is that there are far too many to choose from, wouldn't you agreet?

I'm looking forward to the picnic on the 12th.

Speak to you all soon.

londonbump · 31/08/2010 15:20

SecretArdilla - hope you feel better soon. It's rubbish being ill and pregnant especially as you can't take anything. No advice on rib pain i'm afraid mine is very occasional at the moment and seems to ease if I walk about / change position. Exciting news about pram. Which one did you go for?

GIRLS I'm trying to visit the QE and Lewisham. I have the number for QE but i'm finding it really hard to get hold of the right person at Lewisham to arrange a visit. Has anyone visited Lewisham and can tell me how I go about sorting it out? or give me the phone number?

Midwife has said I need to decide shortly so keen to get it sorted.

Thanks in advance ladies!

Thanks Pod, I'll be visiting amazon soon =)

Both my sciatic nerves are KILLING me too! I spoke to a midwife about it today and she didn't offer up much any advice. It's actually getting rather painful to walk =( Maybe I'll try physio, thanks for the advice LondonB.

Beaurevage · 01/09/2010 21:00

(not sure if there are two of them - meant to say that both butt cheeks are killing)
