I haz also had thoughts about the "Connect 4" tribe all due that week in July. I predict baybee laying in the following order:

  1. Curly -first week of July
  2. Carrots - just too bloody organised and efficient to wait around any longer - 2nd week of July
  3. me - mid-July
  4. iggy Last week of July - maybe early-August - pelvic floor of steel + unwavering denial + hippy contentness baking cakes & cuddling dog.
CurlyCasper · 31/05/2010 12:28

Not pathetic at all ski. I am feeling a wee bit lost and see the next 10 days as an enormous desert/black hole/pit of angst, through which I will wander somewhat aimlessly. Trying to throw myself into work but computer keeps saying no. Think I'll have to decant myself upstairs to the desktop. After more food that is

I'm supposed to be spending time with his family this weekend. They are lovely, but my hormones make we want to be a hermit and just stay here. But I don't want to come across as a complete miserable cow (even though I am).

at the five day gain! I also have a gut feeling (probably based on desire) that this one will be early. SFF wants her to wait until the end of the World Cup. I want her to come out a month from now, bang on 37 weeks.

I'm trying to work out what implications my various ailments will have on childbirth: recurrent thrush, SPD, possible growth impaired baby... 'snot sounding like a recipe for a straightforward water birth which is sad, but there is a twisted part of me which ponders whether any of the above will make her come out (by nature or force) any sooner. Sick and asking for trouble, I know. But I never have been patient.

But that is one virtue I am wishing for by the bucketload for fanny. I can't imagine how you must be feeling, but really admire the strength you are showing. And thanks for the NAKing head-up. Sounds like the way forward.

CurlyCasper · 31/05/2010 12:31

Me want last day week of June*!!!!!!!!!

*but not before Cunty. That would not be fair.

CUNextTuesday · 31/05/2010 13:50

Now curls we are not going to start 'after-you-Claudeing' are we? You can have whenever you like as long as it's a safe and uncomplicated birth . I don't want Rastus to come till early July anyway cos I get paid at the end of the month and could do with the money since June is already birthday-heavy.

CurlyCasper · 31/05/2010 14:22

swapsies then?

CUNextTuesday · 31/05/2010 16:07

done deal

CurlyCasper · 31/05/2010 17:34

slept for two hours this avo. Same yesterday. Fought with PC - no work done. This might be as productive as it gets over the next 5-8 weeks. But I want to be Superwoman! And I get the guilts when it's so nice outside and all I have done is sleep/MN/mope.

Tomorrow, tomorrow!

Backinthebox · 31/05/2010 19:55

I didn't say I thought the whole 4 stone would disappear over night! Truth be told I still have a stone from last time round that likes life far too much with me.

Today, I has been mostly making a new chicken run for all the extra chickies I have now. And I went for what might be my last ride on my horse. (See other place for pics of fat bird on big horse.) My hips and bum ache now.

You lot all have less being preggo to do than me, but I predict my baybee will be born on the 31st Aug to ensure it will be the very youngest in the school year ever, and to screw up August Bank Holiday forever. But I quite like the sound of 08/09/10 as a birth date. I don't mind being a little bit late for that!

rollerbaby · 31/05/2010 20:06

Ha ha my birthday is the 31st August! I was a whole 2 weeks late and in the summer of 1976 (record breaking heatwave). My poor ole mum lay on the kitchen floor for a fortnight trying to stay sane...

Where do the second time arounders stand on baby swing things? And am I being totally ridiculous to start buying bits now to try and spread the cost a bit? 20 weeks in 2 weeks but feel like am being a bit superstitious if I wait...

Also any advice on baby listening monitors? Who's getting what?

Curly don't worry about being a hermit. You are supposed to be nesting in your "safe place"... blah blah blah.

Today I have mainly been clearing out our cellar/utility room which means a fun trip to the dump tomorrow for him indoors.

OkieCokie · 31/05/2010 21:26

Moo what is a baby swing thing?

organiccarrotseedsareplanted · 31/05/2010 21:51

Hi,

I'm back from Crimea. Had a fab, fab time - see FB for some piccies. Will tell story when I'm actually awake. Not caught up on posts but t'other place sounds like there's been some action!

Don't know what I've missed but hope all are well. I went just as iggs got back - how were your hols??

Weddding was absolutely amazing. Very Russian but clearly to be expected!! Loads of fun. Magical setting, just amazing and I climbed a mountain after the ceremony and knackered myself utterly. Managed to stay at the party until 11pm - as did LC - and he danced with just about every girl and boy in the place. Russian or English speaking, man or woman, he didn't care as long as they would get down and boogie with him. As the only child there he got lots of attention, esp from the Russians/Ukrainians who adore kids.

Also found that being preggo in Ukraine gives you max kudos. For instance had seats given to me on bus by 70 year old woman/20 year old woman (1st one bit embarassing!). One isn't allowed to do ANYTHING which could be seen to be strenuous and I did a lot of walking and climbed aforementioned mountain which led to lots of tut-tutting by adorable elderly and mad Russian Grandma who honestly seemed to believe that everyone understands Russian, so she just talks and talks no matter that you don't have a clue what she's saying. I eventually called her bluff and started nattering to her in English as we were walking back from the ceremony along a mountain path, about the scenery, the weather etc. She looks at me as though I was speaking Martian, tossed her hair and walked off!!!

OK must sign off. SO excited after a fab trip but utterly and totally knackered.

rollerbaby · 31/05/2010 22:21

Wowee rots that sounds like one amazing trip... wedding pics look fab. WTF were you doing climbing mountains though you nutter?!

Okie they are those baby seats which you bounce whilst trying to do something else - e.g. read magazine or catch up on MN! Started putting stuff on a wishlist on various internet sites today which posed more qu's than anything. E.g. do I need a mattress protector as well as sheet in moses basket and pram (as well as obviously cot)?

Should I get the avent bottle and steriliser starter kit or buy everything separately?

In terms of the great meet up - still keen but on leave this week and have an action packed line up... mainly diy and maybe dirty (yeah right) mini break minus dog for a few nights if my ma can wangle us a deal. Okie are you up for a coffee on Sat anyway?

SilverSky · 31/05/2010 22:47

evening all. rots your trip sounds triptastic.

Had quite relaxing day. Husband managed go keep me away from Sano's 25% off clothing sale.

Husband hacked hoss whilst me and the dawg pounded the pavement behind. Husband has yet to realise that hammering horse round will create excitement!!! Spent couple of mins wondering if Husband cantering precariously would come a cropper if horse tripped or spooked. On the plus side dog totally knackered trying to keep up with nag!! Downside - me really wants to ride.

Quick message to new fb buds! Hallo ! Can you msgme your username from here if you haven't already as won't have the foggiest who you are. Ta.

One lady has friend requested me but I haz no idea who she is!? Chestnut equine ridden by brunette? Reveal thy self!!!?

rollerbaby · 31/05/2010 23:01

ha ha! Just put a message for you on our group site... wondering if you live where I woz born!

OP posts:
SilverSky · 31/05/2010 23:10

Just seen yr post but it won't let me answer! .

We live quite far from there tho I have done the sponsored ride there years ago. It was excellent even if I did fall off! Horse decided not to jump whereas I did. Got a huge cheer from the hunt staff for that manoeuvre Esp as I held onto pony despite me landing on other side of the fence!!

skihorse · 01/06/2010 02:23

silver If you go to the discussion board on the other place there is a list of who each and everyone is. Btw, I am VERY impressed with your husband taking the nag out for a spin - is he a rider or does he just try not to fall off whilst going as fast as he can? Jailbait offered to learn to ride and exercise her when I was having so much trouble finding someone to ride her but it's not come to fruition. He's been on a couple of times... I bet he'd like to canter down a verge though.

honey My sister was born 3 days after you and 3 weeks early. Mum had gestational diabetes so felt like shit anyway - and had swelled up to a whopping 11-12 stone - which back in the day was elephantine! So could get nothing to fit her and spent the summer with a bed sheet wrapped around herself. Thankfully we lived in rural scotland at the time so nobody to see her! I've been buying/acquiring bits and bobs as and when I come across a bargain. e.g., we've got books, a stroller/walker, a high-chair and at the weekend bought a Winnie the Pooh alarm clock even though it'll be a while before he can tell the time/needs an alarm for school. Jailbait was much taken with the recording facility and now Winnie says "Julian you bastard - I am your father" before it launches in to a cheery Disney tune.

carrots Very good to have you back and well done you for climbing a mountain! Nutter!

Backinthebox · 01/06/2010 08:36

Morning all! Midwife today for me.

The thought of my husband on any horse, let alone big horse, is enough to give me palpitations. We are coming up to 20 years of being in luuuurve, and I have got him on a horse 3 times in that time, and one of those was a city slickers stylee ride through the cacti in Arizona where he was fulfilling his John Wayne fantasies. He did ride big horse to the pub once, but preferred to walk back.

Rots I spied the pics on FB - looks like you had a fab time.

Ski loving the alarm clock!

Cosmosis · 01/06/2010 09:12

Mornings all.

We have 4d scan tomoz, am strangely nervous. What if artie is so ugly we don?t want it any more???

I have also discovered a new and exciting game of actually being able to feel Artie with my hands when I prod where it is sticking out, so I am attempting to guess what bit of it I am poking. At the moment Artie is spending a large portion of its time tickling my right hand side ribs and sticking bits of itself out of there.

We have done good work on baby?s room this weekend, need to order a mattress for the cot and some curtains, and buy chest of drawers and that?s about it really. Pick up family moses basket from my cousin this weekend.

welcome back rots. Ski I love the clock!

iggypiggy · 01/06/2010 09:22

Hello everyone!

Welcome back rots sounds like you had a fab time! Mine was good - but fairly tame!

silver I haz written in uvver place - but i have a feeling we have spoken at length elsewhere before..

ski I don't mind being last - but you do my my baybee turned before my 32 week check up and is already in position? Plus we has history on both sides of early baybees... but I am fully prepared to accept the fact that this may mean nothing and I may well be last!

skihorse · 01/06/2010 09:26

Cossie haha I love the guessing of the body parts and pushing them around - brilliant fun!

Can you lot start putting up nursery pics in t'other place for the rest of us to drool over?

I puked again this morning. Please to be finishing with this?

I woke up at 3am and was browsing ebay. Um, just out of curiosity - who in their right fucking minds would buy a baby-harness covered in Gucci logos? Or Burberry baby clothes?

skihorse · 01/06/2010 09:30

iggy Julian was down at my 29 week check-up although he does change sides... Let the baybee race begin!

Can we have a Connect 4 sweepstake/betting game? Who's laying first and why?

iggypiggy · 01/06/2010 09:34

Yes ski - mine changes sides too!

cossie I also play that game - although cos I roughly know what way round he/she is, it feels like an educated guess

skihorse · 01/06/2010 09:37

On the 4D scan yesterday he was sleeping but sometimes had his hands over his face and at one point had his FOOT next to his mouth! There's certainly a lot of wriggle room in there and maybe he's just bored of sucking his fingers. I didn't realise that the feet would "travel" so far if that makes sense.
