I think seeing a pregnant Lady is a licence to comment for some people CellyD! Maybe we should work on some clever come backs together I alway think of mine 5 mins after the persons gone!
Congratulations on your twins Star thats so wonderful!
Cherry Pie can i also be cheeky and rejoin as I also fell off the list! #1, age 30, Halifax, 20 week scan all fine, BOY!

Nikalah · 15/04/2010 22:02

Evening! Wowsers - that was a lot of chat to plough through!

I've had a crazy day - Dreadful nights sleep (what happened last night) Snoring husband, barking dog, and booze-hounds yelling kept me awake for ages.

Had to move all the furniture out of my flat which I'm renting out, have finally realised I'm not quite as fit and nifty anymore - am knackered.

Also inadvertantly ate unpastuerised cheese earlier... is it really bad?

Cots - I've ordered one of these. Thought it would be easy to move around the house as quite small. this page What do you think? On offer through NCT

Midwife check-up tomorrow. Great new list!

mrsZaC · 15/04/2010 22:12

neez good to hear the hypnobirthing worked for you. I hope I'm good at it but I'm hoping that DH will help me remember everything I live in hope anyway. My mum is going to be my 2nd birthing partner so might have her in on a session but we'll see.

starshaker your pics are soo cute, so strange to see the pics side by side, how are you feeling do you notice a difference with this pregnancy than with your DD?

totally with you guys on the v discharge, definately more of it down there than usual and slightly wify by the end of the day - yuck!

cazem that wristband sounds amazing, what a shame I feel sorry for you, I HATE loosing out on sleep, makes me so grumpy, guess I'll just have to get used to that! Amazing news on your management listening to you and your cover during mat. leave, you must be pleased.

Scan tomorrow @ 11 yippee! however not looking forward to hanging about for my anethetist appointment (about my anesthetic allergy) I hate hanging around that hot, stuffy place for hours on end, lets hope I get seen quicker than last time!

sleep tight ladies! xxx

starshaker · 15/04/2010 23:00

mrszac yeah there are a few differances between both pregnancies. I was a lot sicker last time but this time im way more tired and sore

Emster30 · 15/04/2010 23:11

Ooh ooh cellyD another Walthamstowite? How exciting! I'm in the Lloyd Park area.

Realised that just like last time I was posting alone at the end of the last thread - for some reason I keep thinking we will finish them first!

So stiff and achy from sitting at my desk all day every day - never mind, only 10 more weeks at work and my maternity leave job has now been advertised.

Congrats on the scan starshaker!

Must get to bed now - will catch up later.

Alicetheinvisible · 16/04/2010 08:28

Morning

Haven't had a proper catch up yet, but congrats Starshaker!

My friend gave me a huge bag of boys clothes yesterday, so DH and i spent the evening sorting through, and got all DD's baby clothes out too to sort through what would be useful. Have found 7 babygrows and 7vests that are suitable. I want to get some sleevless vests too, and some more babygrows.

How many is anyone else getting? DH joked that 7 is one for everyday of the week more like enough for a day and a half!

Anyway, the baby sale is on tomorrow so will have a dig through there.

mrsZaC · 16/04/2010 09:19

morning!

wow, I managed to login at work first thing - hurray this must be a good day for a scan then ;0) part of me wishes I was finding out what flavour this baby is but I think I deffo want a surprise so I will have to be strong

My new tankini from Speedo.co.uk arrived today so I can now swim I wanted the swimsuit but it was sold out in my size EVERYWHERE! so I gave in and got the tankini, looks great and I got a free speedo bag with it - yippee

emster I'm aching all over from sitting in my chair at work all day - booh! They got an occupational health lady in to correct my posture so now trying out a lumbar support to see if that helps, ok so far but I'm going to push for a new chair I think.. shame I can't take it with me when I leave!!

starshaker interesting that you weren't as sick this time with the twins, but totally understandable that your more tired @ sore. Totally can't imagine having two in there!

alice fab new with the clothes! must seem like christmas

cakeywakey · 16/04/2010 09:44

Alice how exciting to be going through clothes. Need to start thiniking about going through all of DDs clothes soon. Just know I'm going to think 'why on earth did I keep that!'

Seven outfits would only have been enough for two days tops with my DD. She had a bottom like a leaky radiator for the first few weeks and I would often have to change her up to six times a day! She was BF so it didn't smell, so no warning Am hoping DD2 is going to create less washing

MrsZac and Emster my work chair looks like my bed, with a wedge and v-cushion. I even have to drag them along to meetings if they're going to be long ones. I hate it when I can't get comfortable, makes me very grumpy.

CherryPie3 · 16/04/2010 09:56

Good Morning and happy Friday to everyone

Appointment went well yesterday, they have finally told me that my BP has stayed consitently fine so I now don't have to go every week - woohoo!!!! My manager will be thrilled!!

Just 8 more weeks left at work Yippee!!! And I may possibly not be going back - double yippee!!!! My mum has announced that she's getting too old to look after the kids and is sure she won't be able to cope with 3, paying for childcare would wipe out my wage. Only thing I would have to sacrifice is my car - I won't be able to renew the hire next August, I'm a little bit about that - but I'd much rather be at home to lok after my babies .

Time to catch up...

Weehector I got that Asda leaflet too - some fantastic bargains there. WRT nappies, I don't think I would buy too many size 1 nappies, I don't think 200-300 size 2 nappies is unreasonable tho. IIRC both my dd and ds were in size 2 quite some time before moving on to size 3.
Other baragains are super tho - in the last baby event I bought the £10 pump/steriliser/bottles, all by closer to nature.

Pample at M&P's customer service - do they do vouchers if you complain? Hope your back's not too bad hun.
I'm not sure about the HIP grant but surely if they were going to take it out at all it would be from 2011? Would they really do it with immediate effect? Can they do that?

Joey WooHoo for the little boy news . I've updated the list with you on it chick.

Vix I get sharp pains in my right breast too, was trying (and failing) to remember whether I got it with my other pregnancies.

Cakey Hope you have a better day today honey - sounds like you had a bit of an 'off' day yesterday

Star Those pics are lovely - and the names are sooo cute. Loving them!!! Bless your dd for saying Harry can stay

Speaking of names....how many people have actually considered what their babies will be called? I have tried but I keep thinking it's too early - am I in denial? I've thought of a couple butI'm gonna keep them secret until the birth announcement I think.

Elusive I know what you mean about the discharge YUK!!
How was your bridge night?

CazEm Fantastic news that the management are seeing sense!

Celly You are oficially back on the list

Nikalah Hope you're not doing too much furniture moving - we're due to move DD's bedroom around tomorrow to make room for baby's wardrobe/cot, I've instructed dh and his brother to do the grafting and I'll do the cuppas

MrsZaC Have fun at your scan And hope you don't have to wait too long for your other appointment

Alice We currently have 6 sleepsuits and 6 sleeveless vests, we're planning on leaving it at that until baby is born, then it will be a trip to Mothercare/Asda in the first week to get more gender specific items.

morning!

Question - what exercise is everyone doing?

MrsZaC has got me moving again - I have the swimsuit and just need to use it now - was an off/on exerciser before and haven't done anything for ages...

Any ideas or do we think swimming is the best??

marzipananimal · 16/04/2010 10:56

hi parkgirl I haven't been doing much exercise so far apart from walking to work/into town but I'm starting pregnancy yoga next week and planning to start swimming once a week when school holidays are over - those are the things my midwife recommended so I'm trying to be good (but usually too lazy to exercise )

LCRLCR · 16/04/2010 11:25

I've been contiing my gym route=ine pretty much as normal doing 4 classes a week (Spin, aerobics) monitoring intensity by wearing a heart monitor and having special attenion from the instructors. I also have 2 mile walk between London Bridge and my office each day which has do be done speedily to get me to my desk on time....gym starting to feel a bit harder as I get heavier but generally it makes me feel great and I think baby loves the pumping music.

ElusiveMoose · 16/04/2010 11:41

Hi all,

Came top in bridge last night (thanks for asking, Cherrypie ) so very chuffed, but had a dreadful night's sleep, so now very tired.

Just nipping on to say - exercise? None . I'm SOOO unfit at the moment - I find it's almost impossible to get any exercise with a toddler. My preferred exercise is walking, but these days DS doesn't want to go in the pushchair but can only walk about 1 mile an hour, which is no good for keeping fit. I'm hoping to do a bit more once he starts nursery at the beginning of June - just a bit of gentle walking - and then I'm determined to do some proper walking with the baby in a sling after August (again, while DS is at nursery). Walked for a mile or so yesterday, quite briskly, and was appalled at how sore my bump was by the end!

Re babyclothes, I would definitely save money by not buying any fancy outfits, but going mad on vests and babygros. IIRC, Mothercare do quite good multipacks.

Right, off to pack a picnic, then taking DS to a castle to meet up with some friends .

cazzybabs · 16/04/2010 11:48

I cycle to work which is about a 5 mile round trip but that is about it for exercise. Imust do more - but i get so tired.

Also when pregnant my not small thighs to start with balloon - grghhhh so would like to burn off some of that fat.

My April resolution is to do more exercise.

Bubbabear · 16/04/2010 11:53

Congrats on the BP news Cherry, must have been very annoying to have to keep going back.

Talking of clothes sorting, ive spent the morning packing a load of my clothes away into the biggest suitcase i have ready for them to be relagated to the loft for the time being. Bit depressing but will be a relief to get up in the morning & know i can easily find clothes that will fit me, instead of having to have a hunt round!
Im trying to be very optimistic that i will be able to get them down again and fit back into them at some point! I did also spend a good while cooing over the baby clothes i have already bought / been given. Although even looking at the newborn stuff is a bit scary when you think about a little person that size having to find their way out in order to wear them...

Oh and as far as comments go, the only one ive had that i was a bit about was a collegue said (not directly to me but in my presence) 'Rachael's getting nice & plump'!! i know she meant it in a nice way meaning it was good to see baby growing well but still...

Exercise-wise i have been doing walking & swimming which was pretty typical of before. Have been a bit scared off the gym as i had a few problems in early pregnancy & got a bit paranoid of the whole 'doing too much' thing. Have always been a complete waterbaby, apparently when i was little i used to scream the place down when i was taken out of the water, not put in it!
I am keen to do yoga too as i have had some backache & want to do anything i can stop it getting worse, just not sure where to find a pregnancy yoga class.
Ive not had any morning sickness, only a few weeks of nausea early on, but the thing that's really held me back has been the random bouts of absolute exhaustion that i get, but will pledge to try harder to do regular exercise!

Congrats Joey30 on your boy news & hope the scan went well MrsZaC.

Off soon to pick up DP from the station, then going for a nice relaxing pub lunch before our scan Fingers crossed baby wont have legs crossed!

Will update later x

marzipananimal · 16/04/2010 12:05

wow LCR! I'm impressed! And cazzy a 5 mile daily cycle is pretty impressive too, I be very pleased if I was doing that much.
elusive I also find my bump aches after too much walking - it's a weird feeling I think!

JessieEssex · 16/04/2010 13:58

Hi - I'm new to this thread and would love to join - I'm due on 20th August, first baby, I'm 33, 20 week scan was all clear apart from a slightly low placenta, and it's a surprise! (Do I need to add myself to the list? Sorry if yes!)
Leaving work on the 4 June to have the summer to relax (as if!) - only 7 weeks to go and I can't WAIT!!!

I know... I'm leaving at 29 weeks - as early as humanly possible! I'm finding work really stressful and the commute is 90 minutes each way so I thought I'd be kind to myself. I'm so excited about everything and even more so now that I'm getting kicked and punched from the inside at every opportunity!

mrsZaC · 16/04/2010 14:43

hey hey hey!

All hunkey dorey with the scan, little devil wouldn't turn round for a nice pic but was well behaved for the important bits so that's ok. Didn't spot any parts that I shouldn't have so either I'm having a girl or his bits were hiding ;0) I'm happy about my Surprise! baby though.

Wasn't tooo long waiting for my anasthetic appointment, and all went ok with that, confirmed that they won't give me any anesthetic at all apart from general, so au naturel for me then!

Might aswell update my due date to the 2nd of september if that's ok cherry? I knew that already but thought I would wait until this scan incase it changed.

LCRLCR sooo jealous about your classes, that's what I wanted to do but I did a couple and had a little bit of bleeding so scared me off, anyway I was sooooooo tired I couldn't even peel myself off the couch after work.

Hoping to start up swimming, I currently walk to work (1.5 miles each way) & do yoga on a monday, it's not antenetal but the lady is trained and keeps and eye out for me and lets me know if there are bits I can't do, helped tremendously with my hip/back pain!

marzipan I totally get bump aches when i walk too, I totally thought my body would be able to carry on as normal (used to do 4-5 fitness classes a week) but no such luck! think it depends on the person.

welcome jessie!

CherryPie3 · 16/04/2010 14:58

I'm in the same boat as elusivemoose, can't really fit it in with a toddler. If I had parents closer I'd drop her off with them and go for a swim but by the time she's in bed at about half 6 I'm far too tired to go then. I also find my bump impossibly sore when walking. I took the buggy out yesterday for about a mile walk and it was agony, had to keep stopping and clutching it. Ridiculous really since I'm only 26 weeks...I'm usually a runner/cyclist/swimmer so it's really frustrating being in pain on a tiny walk but I know I'll get back into it after this one.
Can't wait for DH to get back from work, I've been feeling dizzy and sick all day and DD has emptied all her toys on the floor cos I haven't been playing with her.

No, I don't drive - my journey goes like this: walk-train-tube-bus-walk! I moved out of London but continue to work here, so I've only got myself to blame! Often have to stand on the train/tube as well but now that I have a proper bump and don't just look fat, the offers of seats are increasing... Is there a failsafe way of getting seats on trains without wearing on of those 'baby on board' badges?!
