JodieO yep bit of a thought re being so far away from delivery hosp, there is a birthing unit (half hour away if ferry on, an hour otherwise),all prims have to go to main hosp.

I just got an allotment (well a bit of someones, while I wait for my own), I was already pg on the first day, one of the people I was helping is a MW and the person she shares with is a MW asst!!!! I haven't done too much, was hpoing to go yesterday, but I am so lethargic at the mo. Plans to go for a short time tomorrow.

Having a grotty day, tummy sore, feeling tried, crabby, a little quesy and worst of all, OH just made me some pizza, which I usualy love and I didn't really enjoy it, it's the first slightly naughty thing I've eaten in a week.

nymum · 11/05/2010 19:01

Just catching up on the chatting. Haven't been on in a few days as the ms is still going strong. Great news to hear about all of the postive scans. And welcome to the newcomers!

RaceyLacey · 11/05/2010 19:34

Evening everyone

Mumatron - good luck with the clexane, poor you having to do that to yourself. I used to have to do xp for a while. Certainly couldn't do it to myself.

DF - Hope you can get something sorted for when LO is here, well meaning family will be the last thing you want around. But good on you for thinking about it now. I had no idea how much I'd hate having people around those few days afterwards. XMIL was staying with us for a few days after ds1 was born (lived a few hundred miles away) and god that was hell. Overbearing, wouldn't let me near him, I just ended up snapping at her constantly and behaving like a spoilt brat! Agree with what crazykat says, don't be afraid to tell them straight that you want some space, rest etc.

WLL - I think I first felt movement with ds2 around 13wks, but often used to get baby movement type feelings when not pregnant, read something about it being quite common for those who have had children before.

OWO - we're not going to be finding out the sex. I never have done, like it to be a surprise at the end.

rosietoes - with ds1 at 37wks I was only just starting to show, didn't actually want the pregnancy to end as that was the best I've ever felt! With ds2 I felt a lot heavier and fuller and by that time I was well and truly ready for him to get out! Everyone is different & every pregnacy is different, I think the only answer is to play it by ear. Sorry that's not any help really.

RWD - Yay for your good news.

Walkthedog - blimey, I'd hate that, being so far away from the hospital. I'm planning a home birth, but even if I do have to go in the hospital & MW unit are only 5mins away (in busy traffic).

Well ms has returned the last couple of days, but not as bad as before. Just doing a basic dinner. I find eating later is much better. I really struggle to eat at normal time.

I called mw again today, on your recommendation persickety, and actually got to speak to her rather than her voicemail. I have the other mw for my surgery coming tomorrow to do my booking in appt. Yay! Hopefully that means too that I'll get my scan before I go away. I was worried that I wouldn't get it 'til we got back as then it will be cutting it very fine for the nuchal timings.

I'm going to put another pic up on my profile. I'm well and truly in mat clothes, and can't quite believe I;m only 10wks tomorrow. I feel waaaay further along than that.

Anywya, best go and check on my dinner.

Velvetcu · 11/05/2010 20:43

Hello everyone!

I was allowed to tell the mums today. I'm only 9+1 and we were going to wait til after the scan but all good plans... We are definately waiting before we tell anyone else. Just waiting for an appt now - it's meant to be between 11 and 14 weeks. It seems like this pregnancy malarky is all about waiting!!

I had my bloods done yesterday and the MW really butchered my arm!

I'm not looking forward to Christmas at all! Not least because we already come home with bags full of unwanted presents and im sure there is plenty of baby tat to be found too!

Sorry to all those who have MS - I feel sick if I'm hungry but that's it (did anyone get MS after 9 weeks?).

My boobs hurt!! How can I make DH believe just how much??

fordypops · 11/05/2010 21:00

hello...can I join?? I have had my first midwife appointment and she gave me a date of 22nd december although I think its slightly over as I can't quite remember the date of my last period..ooppss!

I was feeling very sick for 2 or 3 weeks but it seems to have moved on to only being therre when I'm hungry or thirsty so I am trying to keep on top of it now, I didn't realise so much would change, sore boobs, bad skin, lots of veins and so so tired but Ikeep worrying tha I am going to get to the forst scan and nothing is going to be there. Hopefully will get a date thorough for that this week too. Its strange that there is a slight comfort in feeling under the weather because it reinforces that there is something going on and hopefully it is all still ok.

looking forward to this journey with you all xx

Wholelottalove · 11/05/2010 21:05

Evening all - wow this thread moves fast!

RWD really pleased to hear your scan went well.

Congrats to all the other scans and new joiners too.

OWO - we're not finding out the sex this time. We did with DD and whilst I didn't regret it as I had a strong feeling all along she was a girl, I would like a surprise this time. I don't have any strong feelings either way - if pushed I'm leaning towards a boy this time but no preference.

Huh, interesting other people have had twitches too, although now I'm remembering I did have a couple of weird twitches after I had my coil out and was definitely not pg then!

I think I just want to fast forward to having a bump, no sickness and being able to feel the baby move -it's so reassuring.

I'm still feeling sick and retching/being sick now too Have told my line manager I may need to do shorter hours for the next couple of weeks and he was fine with it.

elportodelgato · 11/05/2010 21:35

QoD are you on this thread somewhere?! I need your help! I really felt like a cig today - had most horrendous day at work, had to walk to the tube past bloody media circus outside Westminster and just really fancied a fag - arrgh!

I have no symptoms atm apart from being very very tired - I am 7+2 today, should I not be feeling nauseous by now? I can't remember from last time around...

It's nice to read about all of you who are further along and having scans etc, making me feel excited!

mumatron · 12/05/2010 07:28

morning all,

walkthedog yes, needs to to be in the belly. it helps i have a lot little bit of 'padding' there

woke up today feeling much less sicky, so have convinced myself its all over

although i have not been extremely sicky this time anyway. i need to learn to relax a bit i think.

DuelingFanjo · 12/05/2010 10:45

JodieO hope your scan went ok?

Have had mine and I am measuring exactly 9 weeks which is spot on. so relieved.

Mumatron it's all so scary isn't it. hope that you are feeling ok, so hard to relax.

OnlyWantsOne · 12/05/2010 11:09

Jodieo how are you ?

How is everyone else? Im 11 weeks today and wearing a maternity top whooooo

OP posts:
notso · 12/05/2010 11:11

Morning everyone,
Mumatron how many weeks are you? I can sympathise with you, my boobs are no longer hurting and my first thought was not oh great no more pain but Oh no my hormone levels must be dropping.

I have to make two wedding cakes today and so far I haven't been able to open the fridge without heaving.

OWO not going to find out the sex mostly because I'm a bit superstitous but also because I love the "It's a boy/girl" moment. I think it will be harder not to let curiousity get the better of us because we never had the choice before, the Hospital wouldn't do it, they have changed policy now though.

OnlyWantsOne · 12/05/2010 11:15

YAY 11 weeks

OP posts:
WalkTheDog · 12/05/2010 11:21

morning all

welocme fordypops, I can't wait for my first scan either! Not had booking appt yet.

mumatron, hope the injection gets easier, and you aren't the only one who worries

DF glad you scan went well

notso good luck making those cakes

Maybe TMI, but anoyone suffering from wind? I had such a bad day yesterday and thro the night. Makes me so bloated and sore. Trying to work out if something I am eating or just hormones

DuelingFanjo · 12/05/2010 11:49

Walkthedog I have loads of wind, I am so constipated that I bought Prunes yesterday!

DH doesn't like the only girls name I have on my list so far, Erin. Bah! We have an Irish surname and although I have links to Ireland I am not sure if I should be giving a child a really Irish name; we were thinking Joseph for a boy but now not so sure. Hmmm, will have to think on a bit.

RaceyLacey · 12/05/2010 12:43

Hi everyone, 10wks today, yay double figures & 1/4 of the way there! Can't wait to see the mw this afternoon, it will finally be real then.

novice - I had no sickness at all with my 1st 2 pregancies, making up for it this time round though. Make the most of it if you haven't got any, & think yourself lucky.

WTD - yep, quite windy here normal pregnancy symptom I'm afraid.

Does anyone else have a really hairy belly ? Not had that before, but it's really sprung up this time. ALso getting spots in odd places. Have a huge one on my knee, can't kneel down, one on my thigh & one on the inside of my elbow. Anyone else really spotty?

I have my pic up on my profile now, have got rid of my normal tights today and wearing mat ones. They're so much more comfprtable, it's such a relief.

Well have a good day & I will report back later on my booking in visit.

OnlyWantsOne · 12/05/2010 12:58

WTD yep, me too - thought it was my IBS, but... cor, yes, in the evening I look about 6 months gone!!! (its gone by morning)

OP posts:
notso · 12/05/2010 13:00

Thanks WalktheDog RaceyLacey I am very of your lovely bump. I just have flab though I have lost nearly 10lbs now. I am spotty, on my face though nowhere else. Hope you have a good booking in, is it at your house? and if so are you buying posh biscuits?

OWO loving that link, I have a pinto bean!

OnlyWantsOne · 12/05/2010 13:04

raceylacey wow at your bump, glad im not the only one

OP posts:
DuelingFanjo · 12/05/2010 13:16

Great Bump!

I have lots of spots on my face and some on my back.

PJen · 12/05/2010 13:31

Hi everyone... I haven't been here for long time... have been very busy with selling car and getting a new bigger baby friendly car, moving flats to a ground floor (instead of 4th floor) garden flat and now I have to pack as we are moving end of this month! Yikes...
RaceLacey what a bump!

those with MS motion sickness band = heaven! It has been working for me for over 2 weeks now! I finally have control over MS and as soon as I am nauseaus, I check and one of them is tilted. You need to wear on both wrists.

I also had promised to give you girls a review on bumpbands. Well I bought two pairs, one white and one black, from Amazon and they arrived a week ago. I bought the smallest size and they are still too big for me. But I can imagine how useful they will be in the future when I have a real bump...

PJen · 12/05/2010 13:33

racelacey are you sure you are not expecting twins?

OnlyWantsOne · 12/05/2010 13:57

Ive started bleeding, what do i do?

OP posts:
JodieO · 12/05/2010 14:04

Just got home and my scan went really well!! I'm so relieved and excited now. Little hear beating away and growing well, right size for dates, phew. I've been feeling a lot better, not as tired but still fairly so but a little more sick. Still hungry quite a lot too. I'm hoping to find out at my 12 week nuchal scan (private one) what we're having, I have a feeling it's a boy but time will tell. I would love a boy or a girl so, it doesn't matter either way.

Fordy welcome I'm 7+4 and my nipples are reeeallly sore, I've got a few spots too when I never did before.

OWO I went out and bought a few new maternity bits from Next yesterday, some nice things in there.

Racey you have quite a bump there! I'll have to take some photos of mine hehe.

JodieO · 12/05/2010 14:07

OWO is it red or brown? Call your epau, gp or midwife now, they'll see you today I imagine, say it's an emergency. Try to stay as calm as you can.

DuelingFanjo · 12/05/2010 14:07

onlywantsone only just seen your post. Do you have an Early pregnancy unit at your local hospital? Ring them, or go straight to casualty.

hope you are ok?

Can you call someone - your DP?
