Just got back from my scan and am 8 weeks exactly little bean wiggled around and has a heart beat!!

Hi everyone,
I just came back from hospital and had an emotional scan! I couldn't stop my tears from falling (they were just coming without any noise) when I saw the peanut's heart beat! I am still a bit worried as they said that the peanut seems to be smaller than what it should be. We will see if he/she catches up at wk 12 scan.

AND I found the number 1 remedy against the constant nausea. I had vegeterian Sushi for lunch and ginger pickel with it and guess what for a full 6 hours I haven't had nausea!!! I am trying to order the magical ginger pickel online as I know our local grocery doesn't carry it. I think I will buy a big box of it and eat it for breakfast , lunch and dinner!

Oh did I say that the health system is bad in UK? I take that back! They were soooo nice to me today. I wanted to kiss the consultant as he was soooo understanding of my worries. So I am officially taking my previous statment back!

PJen - I had to go an hour on the train to meet DP and go for scan, and on the way back (DP went back to work) I looked at the scan pictures from earlier and had a good teary old cry (hidden behind my massive very WAG sun glasses)

I was amzed that little bean had heart beat, I saw my DD at 5+4 but some how I was sure that I would go today and they would say there was no baby and was all in my head!

Measures 16mm and fetal heart rate of 171bpm

OWO I totally understand what you say! So amazing! my peanut is only 10mm and fetal heart rate was only 146 bpm, it's so lil!! so maybe the consultant is right and I am in wk 6 and not 7. We will know later by wk 12 scan.

Well, nausea has now kicked in for me, although not being sick. I've just woken up, fell asleep putting DD to bed and DH had to take her out of our bed into her cot. So glad it's the weekend tomorrow.

A friend invited me to her hen do at a spa in a couple of weeks, but most of the treatments are sauna/aromatherapy plus if I'm feeling sick I'm not sure I'll be up for it. Money is also a factor, so I'm tempted to cancel. What do you think?

Can I join you too? I am due on 1st December and this will be number 3 at age 36! I'm 8+3 and having a scan later today, nervous and scared at the same time! Doesn't seem to get easier with each pregnancy still just as worrying. Roll on the queasiness going. Good luck to all.

wholelotta tbh i would probably cancel, unless you could do with a few days away? even if you dont have many treatments.

I would probably cancel Wholelottalove, I was supposed to be going to a hen do this weekend, and I'm glad I'm not there because I have felt constantly sick for two days now.
I have no appetite at all, I just keep heaving all the time.
Dreading going back to work on Monday if this carries on, it's hard to be cheerful, smiley Mrs Notso when I feel like crap.

notso while preg with DS I had hyperemesis. I was so sick I ended up off work for three months, and even ended up in hospital to be rehydrated. Really hoping that doesn't happen this time anyway, if you find that you do get too sick to work your doctor should give you a sicknote.
