All the best Neeko

Snowtiger · 29/03/2010 19:39

Ooooh good luck Neeko so excited for you! Sending easy, painless and quick labour vibes your way.

Boodstress I've never heard of anyone being able to tell the sex of the baby from reflexology, would consider it ahem a harmless bit of fun / old wives tale (i.e. a load of cobblers) myself, but am happy to be proven wrong....!

Jennysbean · 29/03/2010 20:12

good luck Neeko, cant wait to hear the news!

going to look forward to sleeping on my back and my front, being able to walk not waddle, getting my figure 'back' and wearing nice clothes!

I still feel fluey and need the loo constantly, contracting alot but mostly when tired.....going to speak to my midwife tomrrow to set mind at rest....

Please come soon baby!!!!

Haha makes me laugh reading along and then all of a sudden there's a "ooh my waters just broke"! So exciting!
Good luck neeko hurry back and tell us the good news!

I got my raspberry leaf capsules and bouncy gym ball today. The gym ball is lovely, it's the only comfortable place to sit right now and I can get up easily.

Tomorrow I finally get my scan!!! It'll be a good birthday pressie for DP if they can tell us the sex. Then we're off to a haunted pub for tea. I might take my bouncy ball.

OOH - things I'm looking forward to -

  1. wearing jeans again.
  2. not being swollen everywhere and being able to get into the lovely shoes I bought.
  3. brie.. ohhhh that's gonna be the first thing I do.. mmm
  4. being able to bend over / turn over / get up
  5. proper yoga
tostaky · 30/03/2010 05:35

can't bloody sleep....
I had tightenings last night for an hour i think - not sure if it was tightenings or if it was because i sat very uncomfortably in a pub for couple of hours and the baby got a revenge...

i cant wait to meet this baby, im feeling quite bored now after 6 weeks mat leave and with DS being away... im due on thursday.

rumple enjoy the scan!
neeko thinking of you!!keep us posted!

Mistymoo · 30/03/2010 06:36

Morning tostaky. Hope you are doing OK. I've just got up too, I can't sleep but just because I'm uncomfortable.

I hope neeko is doing OK.

MummyLovesSadie · 30/03/2010 07:14

Hello it's Neeko's friend here she had a baby girl born at 10:08pm last night weighing 8lb 15oz. It was a water birth & as yet her lo doesn't have a name. She's in high dependency at the mo as she passed a large clot but she sounds ok. I'll update you as soon as I get one.

nicnacinoonoo · 30/03/2010 08:11

wow i've missed loads. congratulations neeko hope you're ok, cant wait to hear from you.

my list is pretty much the same as everyone elses.

  1. wearing nice clothes again and getting my body back (hopefully.)
  1. being able to move about without feeling like a whale.
  1. eating chicken liver pate (i have some in my fridge at the moment juts waiting, although are you allowed to eat it whilst breast feeding?)
  1. wine, wine and more wine.
  1. getting dressed up and going out without feeling extremely self conscious about how enormous i look.
  1. not having to get up for a wee at least 4 times a night.
  1. seeing my beautiful baby and knowing i never have to do this again.
  1. ds meeting his sister.
  1. not getting aching legs in the night, or cramp.
  1. breastfeeding successfully hopefully.

i too am having the worries about the baby being ok now. i didnt have any of the tests either. i also have an irrational fear of them being wrong about the sex and it being a boy not a girl now that i have all girls stuff and am mentally prepared for a girl. im worried that ill be disapointed if its a boy now because we've thought it was a girl for so long if that makes sense. dont want to tell anyone that in real life coz it sounds really bad and i wasnt bothered which sex i had before the scan but now that we think its a girl i definitely want a girl, as we have the name and the clothes and have told ds and everyone else that etc.

im not only dribbling in my sleep but waking myself up with a snort as well luckily dh hasnt seemed to have noticed.

i have my pre op appointment at 3.30 today. anyone know what it invloves?

hoops good luck tomorrow if nothing happens before. what time are you being induced?
i was induced last time and it was fine, no way near as bad as those sweeps which i hated last time. one of them really hurt me and made me bleed and they still didnt manage to do anything. if i wasnt having a section this time i would definitely refuse the sweeps.

2 days left for me, hope i dont have to wait in the hospital for ages on thursday before my op though. i dont have a time for it coz they dont make the list up until that day apparently.

Oh wow congratulations Neeko!

Can't wait to hear from you.

flybynight · 30/03/2010 09:44

Lovely news Neeko, congratulations. Hope your recovery is swift.

Nicnac you should be fine for the pate when breastfeeding. Enjoy it. I haven't really denied myself anything this pregnancy (in my defence, it is number 4) although I haven't wanted alcohol, coffee, pate etc.

I am really looking forward to trousers that stay up, with a proper waistband. That way I can stop mooning the neighbours when I'm gardening.

PS I'm dribbling and snorting as well. Not helped by a headcold. Can I add a proper decongestant to the list of things for post-birth?

1 Trousers that stay up

  1. Decongestant.
SmallShips · 30/03/2010 09:53

Congratulations Neeko.

We need a list of arrivals now!

ray81 · 30/03/2010 09:53

Congratulations Neeko on the birth of you DD. i envy you !!!

Snowtiger thanks i have now found the spot and it is tender, spent alittle while yesterday massaging it and had braxton hicks last night but nothing came of it prob still alittle early.

thanks for putting my mind at rest that i am not the only worrier. It has taken us 5 yrs and 6 Mc to get to this point and i have to have Clexane (blood thinner) injections everyday and i think i still cant quite believe we are nearly there, i think i just want her here so i know all is well and that she is safe.

Goodness this tiredness is realy getting to me i am fed up with being tired all the time i have at least 10 hrs sleep anight although broken every 2 hrs to go to the toilet. i know i realy should sleep in the day but normally that makes me feel worse so have been avioding it may have to give in though as it is just getting too much.

I wont be trying the evening primose either that would just freak me right out may try the sex side tonoght if i can summon the energy am sure DH would be more then happy to oblige !!

The babys room has been decorated but we havent got the furniture as yet, the set i want is on the internet on that Very.co.uk and has been sold out ever since i found it and i am realy annoyed about it am thinking i will need to find another set but i realy like this one and want it NOW, have considered calling them and getting all hormonal on them but now sure that would work. Am getting to the point where i realy want it finished so all is ready for when she arrives, where did everyone else get their furniture from. I would like a white set and doesnt have to be nursery furniture as we are getting the cot separately.

Right must go and hoover, that is getting to me too, i have a dog and he is moulting and the hair is ridiculous, have considered shaving him not sure he would like that though!!.

nicnacinoonoo · 30/03/2010 10:39

ray81 i cant sleep in the day either. everyone keeps telling me to have a nap when ds is at pre school and then looks at me really funny when i say i cant. i too have about 10 hours a night broken up by going for a wee a ridiculous amount of times.

Thank you so much for letting us know about Neeko MummyLovesSadie. Please send our best wishes for a speedy recovery. Hopefully they are allowing her to have DD in with her in HDU.

Saw a gorgeous nursery furniture set on ebay - £1500 new - currently no bids, and starting price of £50. I will bid, but am guessing I will not win it... but you never know!
Still cannot find fixings for cot, and drawers from DD are 20 years old, and not in the best of conditions.

Am so pleased about these happy arrivals, but I cry each time as I want my baby!

Ray81 I can understand your fears - you have been to hell and back it sounds. I was told 20 years ago that I would never have a child following a MC with complications, and now have a 3 year old DD plus this lump! Each day I thank God for them. I am soooo lucky especially as I am almost as old as the hills

Bettymum · 30/03/2010 11:18

Congratulations Neeko that is wonderful news! Hope you are both well xxx
Just had my final checkup at hospital, everything fine, walked into town and got my TENS machine and four cartons of milk just in case I have early problems with BF, and just remembered it's the full moon today!
Had another bad night's sleep though as DD is very chesty and would only go to sleep in my bed, she coughed solidly from about 2am to 4am poor thing. She was mostly asleep but I wasn't.
Talking of our post-pregnancy goals, I sent off an entry form for a triathlon on 1st August this morning, DH practically held the pen for me and made me fill the form in last night, he reckons it's a good target to have in mind .

tostaky · 30/03/2010 11:40

bettymum i was meant to run the london marathon after DS (6 months after his birth) but bc i was breastfeeding and had all these hormones in me, i just could run until i stopped breasfeeding (relaxin makes your joints too flexible and can cause pain) - not everybody gets that though and hopefully you wont! my goal is to run a marathon next april (that is if im not preggo with number 3!)

neeko congrats!!! im so happy for you! hope you recover quickly!
