Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Arcadie · 08/03/2010 20:33

Pixie sweepstake I'll say Sunday 14th (mothers day) 5lb 3 and 6lb

EcstaticMumof8 HUGE Congrats! So pleased it was a good experience all round. That's great!

BusyMissIzzy I am So . Congratulations to you too... Although back to back sounds like no fun I can't sit up long enough to get mine to be anything other than OP I fear.....

Have put cat amongst pigeons here by posting on FB that my baby was fully cooked( ie 37 weeks). As a result a LOT of prayer has been bandied around York that i make the Alpha talk on Thurs and leading the church service on Sunday. Tee hee. Many people looking MUCh happier now they realise that it's still going to be another five three weeks.....

MummyElk · 08/03/2010 20:50

at pixie bump waving....that MUST be a sight....

i can't give you a clue!! I'm RUBBISH at secrets like this! don't ask me. no clues on qs.
but.....think back to some of the posts a few days ago, though, there were a few giving off the right sort of, er, aura, i think....

Watching Lambing Live in the vague hope it sorts out my addiction to OBEM . sadly though, lambs are NOT babies.

Arcadie · 08/03/2010 20:55

Elk Inspired by you I've gone to FB and found her...... SO EXCITED!!! Did NOT think it would be this person. Hints to all - she might have jumped the queue but only because there are some people lagging behind in the queue. (Just like I will be.....)

EEEKK!! I know who the new mummy is too!! So exciting and I was LITERALLY just wondering where she'd got to! Hope she posts soon so we can congratulate her properly!

Well done busy and I'm another one who loves the names you've chosen (we've all got such great taste in names...so far anyway! )

I'll take some of that action on Pixie's twins (Sorry Pixie - are we having too much fun at your expense...or keeping you amused in your bed?? )
Gonna go for:

Sunday 14.3.10; 0700 - 1100; 5.13/6.06 lbs

Still no action here and at this point I'm hoping to hang on til after I (hopefully) convince the MW tomorrow afternoon to let me deliver in the MW-led unit - and probably til after tomorrow night's ep of OBEM too! After that baby can arrive whenever...

However, I think I am getting officially a bit cheesed with people asking if I'm 'feeling any twinges yet?'. I didn't think I was but when my Mum phoned this evening I heard my voice go a bit -I mean, I've TOLD her I'll let her know if I think anything's going to happen so she can travel over to us... And any time anyone asks 'When's your due date?' and I have to say it WAS Friday, it's getting irritating...

Really tired today, but then I've had to look after DD most of the day - poor thing, I was getting a bit grumpy with her for no real reason - bad mummy . And it was noticeably harder to walk the 5 mins to nursery than it was last week - I literally feel like a bit waddling egg now!

walnut I LOVE Neighbours! Have been watching on and off for years, thanks to shift work and maternity leave! Love the escapism. Sorry it makes you feel homesick though...no wonder you're craving the sun and beach after the winter we've had!

Hope things are progressing for you sariska - keep us posted.

And LOL arcadie at the prayer panic you've caused...at least you know everyone's caring and concerned about you!

Sariska · 08/03/2010 21:03

Congratulations to busyMissIzzy and Mumof8 - and, Smac, good to hear you're doing ok.

So whose is the latest baby? 'tisn't mine although midwife doesn't think I'm far off. Show still ongoing and have been contracting, somewhat irregularly, for the whole day. The pain levels are ramping up a bit now; am starting to find I need to focus on breathing through them but they're not lasting that long. Not sure how frequent they are; must time them. Midwife reckons it's the latent phase (did I mention I do long latent phases?) but that, if I'm lucky, I'll get to 5 cms or so without too much aggro. We shall see. She also said that this kind of "niggling" can go on for a couple of days. Heigh ho.

Have spent the day with ds and kept finding myself wondering if this was our last day together with him being not just my PFB but my POnlyB. Bittersweet. And doubtless hormonal. I even sat with him, holding his hand, while he fell asleep (which I do not normally do), and wondered when we would have such quiet, uninterrupted time together again. Oh, I sound as sappy as I am, I know - and luckily I found an AIBU thread that has given me a metaphorical slap (yes, you will love your second child as much as your first and, no, the second child will not ruin the first one's life - and, yes, I know lots of you could've told me this very thing. I think I just have to wait for the truth of it to jump up and hit me.)

Waffle, waffle. Sorry.

Arcadie · 08/03/2010 21:05

sariska VERY excited to hear how you're progressing. It does sound to be on the way... Bet the next post we have from you is a birth announcement.

PacificDogwood · 08/03/2010 21:09

Oh, oh, oh, is it DB, well, is it, is it??

Now see what you have done by NOT telling me, MummuElk, grrr!

Arcadie, could you not video yourself dancing to 'Don't touch this' and put it on YouTube, please, pretty please

mumof8, gosh you sound impressively active for just recoving from a CS, respect!
I am planning on buying DS2's birthday cake ingredients tomorrow, birthday on Wednesday, he has requested a chocolate-strawberry cake ...

I am now considering Mother's Day as a good delivery day: DS2's birthday out of the way, DH no longer tied to work, always irrationally wanted a Sunday baby

Right, MummyElk, my baby will be very very sad if you don't spill the beans on the new arrival - can you live with yourself causing an innocent unborn child's distress??

Gawd, I feel silly, I would love a drink but had my weekly allowance yesterday, doh!

MummyElk · 08/03/2010 21:09

oh sariska i could have written your post myself, have been doing exactly that with Elk . i kNOW it's completely hormonal (and probably self-indulgent to boot) but i can't help the Guilt. apparently it is perfectly normal though. well done though, i'm sure ds will love no2 and will still love you, you are, after all, his Only Mummy, no-one can replace that!!

PacificDogwood · 08/03/2010 21:16

X-posted with lots of you, sorry!

Sariska, v best of luck, if long latent phase achieves something - way to go!
I felt terribly sad that PFB would not be PonlyB for long as I conceived within 5 months of having him, but truly that feeling passes and DS1 and 2 are such great buddies now that I really do not feel bad about 'dethroning' him that quickly now.

hecklephone, my mum phones at least 1x a day, sometimes 2x to let us know "she's just nipping out" . I am so tempted to at some point say to her "oh, yes, did I not mention, I had DS4 last Thursday, must have slipped my mind to mention to you" .
Yes, I know, I am an uncharitable hardnosed piece of work... but we have had 3 DCs so far and my parents were always the second to know I was in labour (after DH), so why would we not let her know this time??
I know she worries, but gah, it brings out the worst in me ...

Right, back to this new baby: whose is it?

Arcadie · 08/03/2010 21:18

Ahem.... ladies could you look away for a second.....

NOT YOU PACIFIC....

Down here....

How did you know about that?

Shroomer · 08/03/2010 21:20

Just been googling 'lung click noise' because my left lung is still making a clicking noise when I lie down in bed. saw doc a 3 months ago about it but she couldn't hear anything (there is no noise when upright). But last night my DP actually woke me up to ask 'what's that clicking noise?' It's worrying me now, and I hope it won't get worse before labour

PacificDogwood · 08/03/2010 21:30

Oh, dear, Arcadie, it was Pixie - I am v at my mistake: it just seemed like something you might do... .

I just see your Alpha group ALL logging on to YouTube to see you !

Very very sorry but also very very amused.

Told you, I feel v silly tonight. Maybe I should go to bed and sleep it off...

Shroomer, no idea what clicking lung could be, does't ring any alarm bell - not much help I know, sorry. Are you sure the noise comes from your lung, not throat, gullet etc??

MummyElk · 08/03/2010 21:37

RIGHT. Am I Missing Something Here?!!
I've just youtubed all manner of "Don't touch me dance RKD" various searches and I CAN'T find RKD dancing AND furthermore I can't work out how the non-fbking pacific has stumbled upon a Clearly Classic Piece of Arcadie Genius...

ah. just refreshed page. I did wonder if you had stumbled upon something there, pacific, it DOES seem like something arcadie would do

Arcadie · 08/03/2010 21:49

Fesses up. There is truly awful internet footage of me dancing to U can't touch this. I've never seen it in Youtube though and am also at a TOTAL loss to know how Pacific has discovered it. Tell you what Pacific you tell me how you found it and I'll tell Elk how SHE could find it too. (Elk - back me up on this one. I need huge peer pressure)

MummyElk · 08/03/2010 21:55

pixie it's time to push the blame back to you i'm afraid....none of this would have happened if it wasn't for that Bump Waving!!!!

Arcadie · 08/03/2010 21:58

Do not mention the harem pants.

PacificDogwood · 08/03/2010 21:58

I have soooo messed up here - no, I don't do FB (tried and failed to understand it ).

I have been watching this on YouTube repeatedly as DSs are fascinated, but I do not think that any of the people featured are Arcadie or Pixie .

Anyway, you are changing the subject: whose is the baba??

Arcadie · 08/03/2010 22:02

Nur nur nee nur nur Pacific

I'll tell you who the new Mum is if you tell me how you found me Hammertiming it on Youtube. Can't look at your clip atm as DH is policing me writing my ALpha talk and would get suspicious at amount of noise your clip would make....

Arcadie · 08/03/2010 22:04

And don't give me any of that "oh it was just an innocent mistake". You've SEEN the clip. I feel it in my bones. And I want to know how.
