PacificDogwood · 08/03/2010 22:06

a-Ha - how do you know my link would make a noise, eh?? Bust-ed!

I did NOT find you hammering on YouTube - how on earth do I prove a negative?? - I got it all wrong?

But - you are saying there is footage of you 'hammering' (didn't know that was a verb beyond what a certain tool does to nails ), yes??

MummyElk · 08/03/2010 22:12

that thing is quite impressive pacific i have upped the technicals and posted it to my facebook profile to further share with the world....
arcadie i'm not sure she has found you hammertiming it, i think this is a case of weird coincidental accusations?!! TBH i can't stop thinking about your hammertiming it in that green bridesmaid dress though, TOO funny a picture....

New mum: pixie was on the right lines.....It's interesting there's been mention of neighbours today...quite appropriate...um....you can so guess it if you look back a bit, early weekendish i think....

arcadie can we write your alpha talk for you? i have a few old radio thought for the days somewhere we could cobble together.....

Arcadie · 08/03/2010 22:16

And I quote:

Arcadie, could you not video yourself dancing to 'Don't touch this' and put it on YouTube, please, pretty please

You couldn't and wouldn't possibly have written that without having seen it. Surely. Otherwise ..... no that would be too weird.

Yes, at my cousin's 30th birthday exactly 2 years ago my bro took some AWFUL footage of me doing the Hammer dance. It's on facebook. Hell, it's probably on YouTube. Even if I can't find it.

But that would be JUST BIZARRE if you'd suggested there was a Youtube clip of me without knowing it.

Feeling a little bit freaked.

PacificDogwood · 08/03/2010 22:19

Aaaaargh, my eyes hurt from scolling back through the last few pages - I am off to bed .

Pixie posted about 'hammering', Pixie, I go it wrong...

Night, all, it was fun !

MummyElk · 08/03/2010 22:26

me too, am exhausted by the bizarreness of it all...
shall we all have a baby tomorrow? or at least one of us?

sleep well. i'm aiming for a 4 wee night.
night!!!

OK - you're forgiven. It was just an innocent mistake. Weird coincidence though. If I can find the link I'll post it to give you all some light relief. You probably need it!

this may work

Sweet dreams Pacific Don't have nightmares anyone else.

Rindercella · 08/03/2010 23:15

ROFL @ that video Arcadie You are a seriously good mover, but also very brave linking to it!!

Loads of congratulations to Mumof8 and BusyMissIzzy. Lovely to hear of the safe arrival of your babies Once again, they have beautiful names. Sarskia, it sounds like you're not going to be very far behind - good luck! Dalrymps I had a dream the other night that I saw a FB post from you introducing Baby Dalrymps to the World

Oh, oh, oh, and I know who's had her baby Tis fabulous news

I won't bore anyone with all my aches and pains. Very handily there's a thread called something like '37 weeks pregnant, what symptoms do you have' where I managed to have a right old moan and offload all my ills Bump is definitely dropping though, don't think we'll be an awful lot longer.

Rindercella · 08/03/2010 23:32

Oh, and btw Arcadie, Pacific's earlier comment about putting footage of you dancing to 'Can't touch this' on youtube, must have totally freaked you out. How odd is that?!

PacificDogwood · 09/03/2010 05:00

Pixie, thank you, oh thank you, for clearing that one up .

And, Rindercella, nevermind Arcadie being freaked out: how about ME?? I had no idea, and yes, it was total preg head madness to get the identities wrong . Have I not done this before with BPM and Mumbot? I have a serious problem remembering names in RL as well - 'tis a cross to bear...

Anyway, need a moan, anybody else still bothered with that well-known condition called "Pregnancy Nose"? Every bleeding night I get such a stuffed up nose that it wakes me, I cannot get back to sleep, blowing it does not help, only cure is being upright.
So, I am sitting in kitchen with laptop, cup of camomile tea next to me waiting for my nasal congestion to clear so I Can Go Back To Sleep before the alarm goes off!!!
It is such a minor thing and if that is all that ever went wrong in somebody's pregnancy, I am sure lots of people would be grateful (and I am too, it is just a pain)...

New baby, is it IWCAS??

Dalrymps · 09/03/2010 08:12

Morning lovely ladies,

40+3 here, starting to wish something would happen, any sign at all would be nice, I don't do patience very well!

Rindercella - How exciting your dream was, I hope it's a prediction of whats going to happen soon!

Lol at the MC Hammer Arcadie/Pixie mix up.

ROFL at Arcadies clip, love the dancing, totally cheered me up this morning

blonde36er · 09/03/2010 08:41

I've been going to bed FAAAAAAAAAAAAR too early, missing out on all the Hammertime fun!!

40+12 today. DH is booking Thurs and Fri off work ready for my induction Thursday morning. Decided not to go for the expectant management route, despite my total fear of the induction...just have images of ending up on Syntocin, having an epidural, being stuck on the bed and them wanting to use forceps (not a chance, I've sneaked on that there raggedy bits thread in Health, and I'd sooner have 6 weeks with a c/section wound than a lifetime of faecal incontincence thanks!)

On the plus side, I slept until 7am this morning with just one pee break at 2am, so actually feel refreshed this morning. Tonight is probably the last night's proper sleep I'm going to have for a while...won't sleep tomorrow night in anticipation of hospital Thurs, and then after that I'll either be being messed with by MWs trying to get me into labour, actually in labour or holding a wriggly baby

Pacific seeing as you have magical psychic powers, who do you think is going to have a baby today? Or does your wizardriness only extend to MC Hammer tributes?

MummyElk · 09/03/2010 08:55

ohhhhhh arcadie that video is hilarious, even the Elk was laughing...."more dance, more dance"
pacific you do get some things right.....
and (since i'm ghetto-speak still) WORD on the congested nose, it's NO FUN and blimin annoying. DH moved in for a snog the other night and literally thought better of it. when i asked him why (slightly relieved) he said, well you're all bunged up, it's hardly going to be romantic is it...
i also seem to wake myself up by either snoring/oinking loudly, or biting my tongue....
blonde it STILL might happen...and having come out the other side of an induction/epidural (lovely thing)/ ventouse birth with legs in stirrups, i can safely say, it's really not THAT bad...you have the advantage to me which is your body is at least on its way to being ready...i was slightly early and my cervix wasn't having any of it. So fingers crossed for you

Arcadie · 09/03/2010 09:32

morning all.

Glad hammergate is over.

Laugh your way into early labours people....

siamesecatwoman · 09/03/2010 09:48

You guys make me laugh!! Silly RKD and mystical pacific...

Good news on all the new babies! Well done you guys for posting too - mum of 8, scooby, and busymissizzy congrats on your LO's.. and of course the secret babymother

Not much going on here, just huge surprise stretchmarks that appeared overnight, and I have put on 2kg in 2 weeks - Im hoping and not hoping this is baby not me - IYSWIM!!

Due date on thursday but already receiving texts daily from everyone Ive ever met asking if Im in labour, inc my sister - just in case I forget to tell her???

Anyone else got a blood bath instead of gums?
Shroomer - I too have a weird clicking noise occasionally - Am assuming is baby related when she is kicking me in the diaphram.

waves and waits for this evenings OBEM..

BusyMissIzzy · 09/03/2010 09:55

Morning everyone, just popping in to say hello and try to catch up on the thread (goodness knows I had enough trouble keeping up even without being away for a few days; you ladies are seriously dedicated MNers )
Wanted to give some encouragement to those who are overdue and fed up, or not overdue but impatient; 2 days ago I had visions of being 40+14, sweeps, inductions, the whole shebang. I hadn't had BHs or a show and mucous plug had not made an appearance. And then it all kicked off on Sunday morning, by Sunday night we had a baby and by Monday evening we were back home! So be warned don't lose hope, it can go from zero to baby very suddenly.

Arcadie I've not seen the clip (might not be a great idea with my now weakened pelvic floor ). But did you know River Island do maternity harem pants?

EcstaticMumof8+4 read your announcement properly, huge congrats again. And a gorgeous name. Hope you and the family are all enjoying your new little girl.

So who is the mysterious new mum? Could be ICWAS, couldn't it? I'll keep checking back to find out..

I'm feeling quite spoiled as MIL is visiting and has been looking after Isobel so DH and I have been able to sleep. Didn't sleep at all in the hospital on Sunday night, so feel much better now.

Hugs and labour vibes to everyone.. believe me, if I can do it anyone can!

PacificDogwood · 09/03/2010 09:57

I will not mention hammering this morning, although love Hammergate .

blonde, well, having organised your induction and your DH having taken time off work.... OFF COURSE you will now go into labour ANY MINUTE .
Or not.
Gah.
Sympathies.
Really. It is just rotten.
May I just add another positive induction experience? Don't be too worried about it; it can be an OK experience... I had 2 lots of prostin gel, contractions over night, epidural 7am, synto drip, and pushed DS1 out myself with no instruments involved lying on my left hand side (because he was happiest that way), and had only tiny graze which was stitched but healed withing days.

Arcadie, is laughing, I mean great big belly laughs, not one recognised way to set off labour?? Sure I read that somewhere...
I might even be tempted back to FB just to look at your video ...

Oh, and MummyElk and blonde, nope, absolutely nothing happening here. According to scan my due date is today, according to my LMP on Friday. As you all know I am quite happy waiting. I reckon another 8-10 days. Have appointment with consultant tomorrow, I think if sweep is offered I will decline for another week.
Thanks for the sympathies re nose - why oh why is it NO problem during the day?

Hello, everybody else!

blonde36er · 09/03/2010 10:12

Just to report I've had MC Hammer playing in my head all morning

Thanks for that

lisbapalea · 09/03/2010 10:48

Hi all,

Just to let you know that our arrival, Katy Anna arrived a week ago today! On 2nd March at 9.25 am she was born by Elective C-Section as she was breech, weighing 7lb 3oz.

Being first time parents the first week has been completely crazy; nothing can quite prepare you for it can it?! But we finally seem to be getting through the maddest bits and we're having a fab time getting to know our lovely baby and she seems to like us a fair bit too!

I love love love being a mummy!

Hope everyone is doing well and not getting too frustrated with the waiting game!

xxx

blonde36er · 09/03/2010 11:36

How lovely congratulations!

PacificDogwood · 09/03/2010 11:41

Aaahh, the mystery is no longer mysterious !

lisba, congratulations, enjoy your little girl. I love the name - v close to 'my' girl's name . You sound very happy.

I agree that nothing can prepare you for the shock that is first time early parenthood - I am still reeling from the shock of having DS1, but did not put me off - obviously !

MummyElk · 09/03/2010 11:51

congrats lisba you sound perfectly at one with it all and well done you, glad you enjoying your lovely little girl. Great names too! excellent work.

PacificDogwood · 09/03/2010 11:54

Oh no, there is another one??

I am back to fretting again - thanks a lot, MummyElk - NOT!

Rindercella · 09/03/2010 12:28

Congratulations lisba - another beautiful name. Tis true, absolutely nothing in this world can prepare you for the madness that ensues following the arrival of your first baby.

PacificDogwood · 09/03/2010 12:48

Right, I need rescuing: I just snuck onto FB with the intent of rabbiting out the other mum and somebody else found me (not from this thread) but I cannot figure out how to reply to her on that 'chat window' thingmy.

Crap!

Is it just me or is FB really not v intuitive??

Arcadie, I am caving in, if you are still talking to me please may I join the FB group? How do I find you lot again?
Warning: I will need lots of handholding/technical support before I get it...
