DrSkid - any update? Remember your priority must be mumsnet at all times!

And good luck Smac!

Hope you're ok Bluey?

Caitni - any more twinges?

Mumof7 - sounds good that you're coming to terms with cs! Hope you're all hydrated now.

Rindercella - glad your DH is slightly better from life threatening man flu...

MummyElk - that sandwich sounds yummy! Good girl with the potty training. Your DD I mean, not you.

Happy birthday Pixie! Your twins really should be coming soon... I bet everyone tells you that, sorry...

Yes Diana, I agree with the others, just check out any local activities for babies/toddlers and you will get talking to other mums. When you've seen someone a few times and you've been chatting, you can ask to swap phone numbers and meet up... but maybe not the first time you see someone although that happens too.

We managed to have sex this morning, it was surprisingly nice... and even though I'm not due yet I'm hoping it will get things going.

Caitni · 02/03/2010 08:55

Oooh DrSkid exciting!! Sounds like sweep no.2 is doing its thing . Looking forward to hearing how things have gone for you

MummyElk hope your BP is OK...no advice on potty training, other than you sound v relaxed and your DD sounds ready so perhaps why not? [pls disregard if that sounds like the naive witterings of a first time mum ]

Pixie glad you had a good birthday

Smac probably too late for you, but good luck again . Hope the itchiness is just a random thing.

Mumof7 crikey about the dehydration...good they spotted it as you must take care of yourself! I'm glad to hear it wasn't as bad as you expected - bodes well for later in the week for this little girl to make her appearance

Shroomer I've no firm grasp on the netmums snobbery [don't really care emoticon] but it's apparently why hugs aren't very "Mumsnet"...as in other sites like netmums and bounty are all hugs and huns and crazy emoticons (or whatever - again, I've not used any other sites so I've no real idea )

So today's my due date and, after some "marital relations" last night I had some quite strong BHs during the night but nothing that kept me awake/woke me up so looks like baby is still too comfy to make his or her appearance!

Caitni · 02/03/2010 09:04

sorry, x posts with you Anna. Morning sex [impressed] - we've been managing nighttimes only (me old aching hips and knees mean I'm about as likely to want nookie after a night of "sleep" as a nun!).

annamama · 02/03/2010 09:10

Haha, I'm the opposite, at bedtime I just want to sleeeep!

caitni happy due date

cyphercat · 02/03/2010 10:32

hello I'm due 2nd of March. I haven't been a regular just peep around time to time. The contraction is coming 8 minutes apart for the past 6 hours now...but not improving. I suppose I will know when to go to hospital...how boring..it's not nice to wait.

BusyMissIzzy · 02/03/2010 10:45

Ooh, cyphercat, hopefully not long to wait now! And on your due date as well. Keep us posted

DrSkid, am excited for you! Best of luck, can't wait to hear news and birth story.

Good luck to Smac for arrival of Babymac.

Glad you had a fab birthday Pixie, belated wishes from me also. And well done to the babies (Pixlings? Pixlets?) for staying in as ordered.

MummyElk my tired/hormonal brain first read your sandwich as PB, bacon and Nutella. On second reading, banana makes much more sense

Great to see the updated list; can't believe we have 11 babies already! Lovely babies with lovely names at that. Also can't believe I'm all the way down at no. 14 and only 3 days till due date. Babies popping out en masse starting now? We'll be stepping over them to get around the thread soon

Am also wondering whether to interpret MawBroon's absence as news that she's busy snuggling. Fingers crossed.

PacificDogwood · 02/03/2010 11:01

Oooooh, 2nd of March is going to be an exciting day, I can feel it in my bones !!

V best of luck to DrSkid and Smac - roll on babies, hope everything goes well.

Mumof7, gosh, too much excitement of the wrong sort! Hope you feel better for having been rehydrated. Also well done for getting some peace of mind re CS and sympathies about different people saying different things to you - that's the worst aspect about seeing different Docs IMO.

Hi, cyphercat, dive right in! Sounds like you will have a baby v soon - whether today or not remains to be seen

Well, DS1 went off to school very unhappily this morning bacause I have kept DS2 off as he started vomiting @ 5am this morning - entirely predictable, but aaaaargh! Ds3 is nicely speckled with chickenpox but does not seem to be bothered too much by them - main problem is ongoing diarrhoea only 1-2x/day, but dear Lord, the boy has a sore bum - cries with every wee and every nappy change is agony for him, poor guy.

Other than that, sun is shining, v cold outside, bump is behaving itself in the usual manner although I too get occ v odd, unccomfortable head-butting type sensations on the inside of my cervix or where I'd imagine the inside of my cervix to be ...

Anyway, that's me checked in - I shall be checking back obsessively to see if there is any news .

mad4mainecoons · 02/03/2010 11:14

Hello all,

i seem to have fallen off the list but im due 4th march. and i have been reading and following all your progress. cant believe we have so many march babies here already!!

i thought something had begun last night as i went out for a curry, followed by some marital relations when we got home and was woken at 1.30am with really strong pains.
tried and failed to get back to sleep and was really uncomfortable for a few hours. but things never got any worse so i went off to pace the kitchen. at 4am after taking paracetamol everything died down and i went back to bed.

and thats it! nothing else, damn and i thought she was coming to meet us! i suppose this is the stop start labour that people talk about as i never had this with DS.

Ah well, back to being patient....

ill be checking in regularly to see how everyone else is, and ill post if anything changes.

Iwonka · 02/03/2010 11:25

Wow, how this thread moves!!! Haven't been on for a couple of days, ok, more like 4-5 days and so much has been happening. But to be expected considering it's March already!!!

First of all, huge congratulations to all the new moms!!! Hope you're having a lovely time cuddling your precious little ones.

Smac good luck today! I'm sure we'll all be thinking of you.

Dr.Skidaddle. All the best to you too!!! Hope this is it! How exciting!

We haven't heard from Mawbroon in a while, really hope things are alright and that she's finally holding her baby.

Pixie happy belated!

Annamama, Caitni, what a great way to start the day. Had some myself over the weekend and it was nice...

Caitni, I've been thinking of you as today is your EDD, hope you're not getting too impatient. But if you are, it is totally understandable, especially when you think something is happening and then it slows abruptly. Good luck to you and hope you're keeping busy and doing nice things to take your mind off.

One of my friends told me that the last few weeks of pregnancy will be the longest imaginable. Now I know what she meant. Probably like most of us, I am waiting impatiently for my baby to arrive. Had some pains and 'strange' sensations over the weekend and thought 'this is it' but obviously I was wrong. I don't know if I can get any bigger, people are commenting that I look like I'm having twins . I certainly feel like I'm carrying a ton. Went for some acupuncture last week - it helped, I felt more relaxed. My acupuncturist said that he induces plenty of women, need be, and if it's not the right time, nothing happens, but if baby is ready, labour starts. Have booked another session on Friday, hopefully by then I will be cuddling my baby.

BuzyMissIzzy, re: your question about pets. I too have 2 cats, and they have become very clingy during my pregnancy. One refuses to look at my bump, does not even want to acknowledge it . We've decided to lock our bedroom door recently as well and they're not too happy about it. I read that you should help them to adjust to the changes slowly and give them cuddles etc so they don't feel rejected that way they won't feel threatened by the new baby in the house. There is also a product you can buy to make them feel assured, I think it's called Felaway, I've used it once and it seemed to work. Good luck!

Oh DB, it sounds like you've got a massive amount on your plate right now. I hope you've taken some of the advice on here and have been able to take it easy. I know you want to get things organized but maybe it's more important that you pampered yourself. Or got someone else to help you with the unpacking/ironing etc. Being pregnant is exhausting as it is, without all the extra work you mention. Really hope you manage to find some 'me' time and relax.

Hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine! What a wonderful day to give birth.

Arcadie · 02/03/2010 12:53

Skid you can't just post that and naff off.. Come on woman - POST!!!!!

BlueyDragon · 02/03/2010 13:39

Humph, after a broken night of waking up to the occasional cracking BH, seriously uncomfortable, this morning there was nothing. Grr, can't be bothered with stop/start stuff - maybe BabyDragon is as laid back as his father? (and if so could he share some of that with DD/me?). At least I don't feel sick anymore and more positive mood wise.

Anyway, the sun is shining. Thinking of all those for whom there is some action (of a baby-making-an-appearance kind, not the baby-making kind you lot - TMI!).

scooby26 · 02/03/2010 14:08

Afternoon ladies!! Thanks for your kind words/thoughts.

What a beautiful spring day - hee hee!!!

Benjamin (ben) and I are home safe and well.

We came home yesterday morning but i'm sorry that we haven't posted before now or had a chance to read your posts or news of any other arrivals.

I will try to read up today and post labour tale on postnatal thread asap. shroomer if you choose not to read labour tale (understandable) please note all staff were wonderful- you will be cared for fabulously.

Off to continue BF attempts and try to keep Ben awake in hope of sleep later tonight!!

xx

PacificDogwood · 02/03/2010 14:43

Congratulations, scooby, well done and lovely name for your little boy, too ! Hope you are enjoying lots of newborn snuggles and will soon settle into BFing.
'Ben' not on our short list, sadly - think 'Ben Dover' kind of problem .

Oh, I am loving all these babies appearing everywhere .

DrSkidaddle · 02/03/2010 15:14

Hello!

Well 10 days late, baby Malachy finally made an appearance at 5.50am today weighing 8lb8oz - labour was slightly traumatic (will post on postnatal thread) but we are both doing great now - out in 4 hours and back home where his big brother and sister are completely enamoured with him. Seems to be feeding pretty well too and he is GORGEOUS - just lying quietly beside me now as I type.

Congrats scooby and looking forward to hearing your good news too smac

annamama · 02/03/2010 15:21

Congrats DrSkid and really cool name too! Sorry about traumatic birth, hope you are recovering.

OP posts:
Caitni · 02/03/2010 15:27

Huge congratulations DrSkiddaddle . Delighted to hear of Malachy's arrival - love the name btw . Sorry things were a bit traumatic but it sounds like he was worth it

Scooby so glad you're home and happy with baby Ben (love the name too )

Cyphercat glad that someone is going into labour on their due date - must admit I'm a bit too! Keep us posted about how things go

Am off for a proper long walk, though doubt I'll manage as far as DrSkid's epic 4 miler - did a mountain of handwashing (aching arms now ) so time to actually enjoy the sun shining!

mumofsevenplusfour · 02/03/2010 15:48

me again decided to get the house sorted pre friday scrubbing under the cupboards caught finger on nail ended up with 6inch long deep gap in finger . spent 41/2 hours in casualty waiting then stitches and a tetanus . feel like im spending more time in hospital but in the wrong places (not labour ward) with this one than the other 6 put together. if stress brings on babies this one should be iknocking at the door by tomorrow
well things can only get better
congrats to all the new mums and babies you lucky things
pixie you must be ready to burst i dont know how youve done it

mumofsevenplusfour · 02/03/2010 15:52

pacific we are also in the midst of a diarrohea and vomitting epidemic which is not much fun for ds4 but at least we should all be well by the time dd4 arrives

BusyMissIzzy · 02/03/2010 16:10

More babies! DrSkid massive congrats! Glad you're both doing well now. Do you pronounce the name Mala-kee or Mala-kai btw [ignorant emoticon]?

Thanks for the cat info Iwonka My cat veers between snuggling up to my bump (occasionally) and giving it the evil eye She seems to be getting used to the new sleeping arrangement; we've made her a cosy bed in the livivng room, so hopefully she'll be well adjusted by the time the LO arrives.

Love the name Benjamin scooby

I have been feeling a bit crampy on and off today, and a few backaches. Does this mean anything (really, I'll take anything at all!)?? Also felt a bit of an, umm, leak while at the shops earlier. More a trickle than a gush, but hasn't happened again and not sure exactly what it was. Could just be wee I suppose

BusyMissIzzy · 02/03/2010 16:12

(Just realised I may have been wrong about both of those potential pronunciations DrSkid, please feel free to shame correct me )

PacificDogwood · 02/03/2010 17:11

DrSkid, massive congratulations on the arrival of baby Malachy - you sound happy inspite of traumatic birth, that's great!
I know the coolest Malachy in RL, he's a grown man known as Mal.

mumof7, your poor hand, hope things heal well as you will soon have a newborn to hold... Yes, I agree, I'd rather have the D+V to deal with now than in the next couple of weeks. Also, the (existing) boys are ment to go and stay at my parents for a couple of weeks over Easter, so just as well the chicken pox will be only a memory by then .

Oh, Busy, sounds like things might be beginning to happen....

Rindercella · 02/03/2010 18:52

DrSkid many congratulations on the arrival of Malachy (yet another great name!). You sound totally in love

Gosh, it's very quiet on here today, isn't it? I wonder if there's any particular reason for that?? Someone (was it you Pacific?) said they thought March 2nd was going to be an exciting day...
