hi! Exciting! Its not me, sadly, is it Rindercella?

Love the website Smac - just looked all the way through it, and think it's ace. Like Caitni said - I bought a starter pack so i can give them a go and decide which brand is best for smallsiamese. Good call on the bin too, Ive had a mare trying to find one on RL, ended up with mothercare's but its a bit dull.
Ive found some typos and grammar errors on 'features and benefits' page, but none elsewhere (however, I am not an expert on apostrophes). Also, I would appreciate as a first timer, an explanation of the differences between all in ones and pockets and shaped nappies. But good job! I hope you get loads of work from it, I shall point my friends in your direction.

IWCAS dont feel guilty - you, like all of us are very pg - just considering doing all the painting and sewing yourself is admirable. We've only just finished and tbh DH did the painting, and I did the sewing (and I might have to go back to complete the bits I gave up on in a few months!) Baby wont be judging you!

mummyelk I love Lee Mack - and I might have a small crush on him too..

turning vibes to what seems like most of you - I went to aqua natal this morning and I am now the most pg woman in the group. Certainly felt like LO was dropping further and further as we did lunges!! To the point where I started to get concerned about my bladder and wished for a swim nappy.. tmi??

fingers crossed for action Mawbroon

Dh currently making a giant chinese feast for me and my best lady friends who are due over this evening (if snow stays away) for final gossip and drink before I bore them forevermore with tales of baby..

Someone please tell me who the new mum is!!

Sariska · 25/02/2010 16:46

Humph, am "in scope" for possible redundancy. Good job I have low blood pressure. But have decided that maybe I am ready for this baby to arrive so I can have something else to focus on.

Re the latest baby: TLC gets my vote. Not sure why. Just a hunch.

Good luck Mawbroon!

Caitni · 25/02/2010 17:00

Sariska so sorry to hear that you're in the scope for redundancy.

Siamese chinese feast sounds divine.

So actually have flapjacks in the oven as I type. I am a rubbish baker (I have never even made flapjacks before!) but I need a treat and, somehow, making it myself seems less "bad" than going out to the shops for chocolate and/or crisps! Can you tell I ate the last creme egg in the box of 12 this morning? The box of 12 that lasted me 8 days...and that's with DH not having a single one...

OMG, my plug has just come out. It is the size of a slug!!!

Think this might be real......

Arcadie · 25/02/2010 17:59

oooooh mawbroon keep posting!!!

Arcadie · 25/02/2010 18:04

And I know who the new mum is..... ( or at least I've worked it out based on who's friends with IWCAS and not friends with me....) And oooh she's quite the queue jumper.

Walnut8 · 25/02/2010 18:21

Mawbroom how exciting! Good luck!!!

Sariska I'm also sorry to hear about possible redundancy . Hope it comes to nothing.

IWCAS my very small flat is covered with baby paraphernalia, most of which needs washing (and in some cases hand-washing gah) or unpacking or sorting and I just don't have the motivation either. I have written a to do list however, which at least makes me feel like I'm doing something ... getting v sick of having to nag remind DH to help though, especially with the lifting.

Blueydragon now that I've decided i want a birth pool, no-one had better take mine! Midwife actually said that there is always one free (only two in birthing centre). I hope so!

Another one who has been told baby is slightly back-to-back here. Midwife didn't seem worried however, said that there is plenty of time to turn. Still, have resolved to sit on cushions on the couch from now on.

Heckle I would love to know if anyone has any recommendations for nursing tops too. I have bought a couple from blooming marvellous when they were on sale but to be honest, they weren't great quality and almost sent them back.

Caitni that's no good re the car! Flapjacks sound nice though. I'm off to bake some choc chip cookies in a bit.

Have decided baby can't be overdue as I want my first mothers day! And who is this new mum?! Do we get a hint??

Arcadie · 25/02/2010 18:29

New Mum could be TLC but I don't think she's on the FB group so I don't know how we'd know her real identity....

Walnut8 · 25/02/2010 18:32

Oh forgot to add, thanks everyone for the encouragement re the perineal massage. Have decided to persist with it. Is every second night enough though? I don't think I could manage every night.

scooby26 · 25/02/2010 18:39

Well its not me! X

Rindercella · 25/02/2010 18:53

How exciting...another arrival. I wonder who it is (and no, it is definitely not me! ).

Mawbroon!!!! I think your son has a special gift! Good luck and look forward to hearing your birth announcement

So many updates today! MummuyElk I have been having the same debate about whether or not to potty train DD. We were with friends today & she actually asked to use the potty. I think on balance though, I am probably going to wait until after the baby is born simply because I think we would probably regress with the baby's arrival. She already has quite a lot of change - new little sister imminent and has just started playgroup/pre-school, that's probably enough just for now. Also, if we start April time, there will be less layers to strip off as the weather will be warmer (at least I hope it will be!).

Smac, love the website. Looks like you have a great range of products. I will have a proper nosey look later on.

Sariska so sorry to hear about possible redundancy. Really not the news you want to have had, just before your baby is born. That's really crap actually.

Saw mw today - all fine. Haemoglobin levels low (less than 10), hence the iron tablets. Said because of this I couldn't really consider home birth or birth centre, but I had decided on local hospital anyway - was where DD was born & we were really, really happy with the delivery. Apart from that, all's well. Am 36+1 and apparently the baby feels quite large (no surprise - expecting another big one!), but is lying in the right position. Lovely hearing her heartbeat again

MandaHugNKiss · 25/02/2010 19:00

Just got back from shopping in Richmond and thought I'd give you a heads up (particularly those with other DC) that Gap have 30% off ALL denim (so, in my case, that meant I bought two pairs of jeans for DS1 (much needed) for £8.75 and £9.99 respectively - Gap jeans are great for kids as they have the waist adjusters and also come in slim and generous fits). When DD was small I almost exclusively bought her the lovely embroidered offerings they have for little girls.

Ugh. The rain is dreary. Lots o' braxtons here.

MandaHugNKiss · 25/02/2010 19:03

Oooh, and forgot to say, mummyElk that all your guaffaws at Mr Mack may just set off labour! There's a school of thought (that makes perfect sense) that hearty, prolonged laughter can induce labour if you're 'ready' because one releases lots of oxytocin when laughing.

Caitni · 25/02/2010 19:21

Mawbroon exciting!! Wow, maybe your DS knows something we don't . Looks like you'll get your Feb baby after all

IWCAS yay for your working cooker! Enjoy those scones...and flapjacks a great success so p'raps someday I'll get a bit more adventurous. I bow to your superior wisdom re calories of home baked goods - all totally true in my book

Arcadie of your sleuthing! Who is this new mum (donttry - is it you?)

Caitni · 25/02/2010 19:29

Inexplicably posted too early there

Rinders hope the iron tabs kick in soon (I know I'm a bit of a broken record but I'm a fan of spatone - so easy to take and no constipation side effects for me). That's great about how good your hospital was - bodes well for this birth

Walnut every other night is fine - my midwife said 3-4 times a week is more than enough. Choc chip cookies [salivate]

Manda love the laughter theory! Makes a lot of sense [makes mental note to watch Zoolander soon]

So I just had the most stressful time at the self check out in Tescos. The woman working there thought I was some sort of reject - seriously, coupons not working, things falling to ground behind till, having to run to pick up more carrots, card not working so having to sign, needing to have security tags taken off batteries - all the while with the people in the queue behind me giving me evils (I hate being one those people who take ages in banks/shops/atms/etc). Honestly, it brought on such BHs that I walked out of there thinking "much as I want this baby here there's no way I want to start my 'oh, when you were born...' story with faffing about in a Tesco Express!

mawbroon · 25/02/2010 19:44

Still here. Have put ds to bed and warned him that the baby might come in the night, so granny and grandad could be there in the morning....

Having regular tightenings, but they are not sore at all, just a little uncomfortable. Nowhere near as sore as period pains.

I fear I may have got a little excited a bit too soon.

And I have 17 mins to deliver for ds's prediction to come true.....

DH is away out for a chinese takeaway (big treat, we rarely have takeaways) so I had better get to eat the damned thing!!!!

GColdtimer · 25/02/2010 19:45

so quick update from me (I have been lurking but can't keep up with you all so rarely post!)

my waters went at 3.30am this morning (i luckily made it to my bedroom rug which is washable ), contractions started about an hour later. MIL came to get DD at 7am and had contractions every 5 minutes. Thought I would have my baby by teatime. Then, everything slowed and then died down. Been off and on all day but still only every 10 minutes and not that intense. Will have to go in to be induced at 8am tomorrow if nothing has happened so please send lots of happy homebirth contraction vibes my way (DD is going to be so disappointed if she wakes up tomorrow and STILL no baby!)

mawbroon · 25/02/2010 19:47

good luck twofalls. I hope you get your homebirth.

GColdtimer · 25/02/2010 19:48

mawbrown, good luck to you.

Who wants to put a bet on who will deliver first??

GColdtimer · 25/02/2010 19:49

sorry, mawbroon!

mawbroon · 25/02/2010 19:50

LOL, as I always say to ds about all sorts of things.....

It's not a race.

PacificDogwood · 25/02/2010 19:50
