Just actually read the thread since I last posted: so, new mummy still incognito and a race between mawbroon and twofalls - I am not sure I can stand the excitement much longer!!

Good luck to both of you! Twofalls, that sounded like proper early labour, hope you get more action overnight .
And mawbroon, you now have 4 minutes

hecklephone · 25/02/2010 20:38

A race! How exciting! And still the mystery of the missing mum! mawbroon and twofalls good luck. (and also ewww maw at the description of your mucus plug - tmi!)

walnut - good point about mothers day. actually I've decided to aim for mothers day. I'd be about 9 days overdue but that's what I was with DD, and at least it might help me remember the birthdate!

sariska that's rubbish news to get so late in PG. Best not to worry about it for now and just concentrate on baby I reckon.

smac the website looks ace - love the colours and it's really clear and easy to navigate. I agree with whoever said the top banner whizzes by a bit too fast - a few more seconds to eye up the different nappies might be a good idea.

manda I also noticed the 30% off denim in Gap...trouble is I want to just buy stuff for ME!

I'm so grumpy tonight. Same way I felt all day yesterday. Everything DH does is annoying me, and I'm sure he's getting fed up with me too. We just keep nitpicking and disagreeing with each other, and he can't figure out how to cheer me up, bless him. Even I don't know how to cheer me up! . I just feel fed up - tired of heartburn and feeling big and slow and the vertigo I'm also still suffering...but I'm also not ready for baby to come just yet so I just feel a bit...in limbo. Damn the hormones and late pregnancy fed-up-ness. . Have been doing more baking (choc chip cookie bars) but that's not helped much. Perhaps if I eat a few and try to stop whinging to myself...

Henrietta · 25/02/2010 20:46

Arghhh 3 more pages to read

whoever did that gaviscon desc - Im glad I missed it as I ran out last night and couldn't sleep for heartburn. resists the urge to find out...

walnut my first pregnancy my stretch marks all appeared at 38wks grrr resigned to call them my honourable battle scars
perenium massage - if its 1st baby some evidence shows may help but if you've already torn may be better to just put wheatgerm/EPO capsule up/oil on to soften (think I searched Mumsnet for that info, or was it RADMID??)

waves hello to newcomerssmac if you stock nature babies wraps Ill buy some if ihave a girl...post your link for me.

wish I could go on maternity leave unfortunatly my boss DS1 4yo and his exec. DS2 2yo dont understand the concept

commiserations to those with heating probs our fire backfired yesterday so DH turned chimney sweep for the night he turned black overnight

mumofsevenplusfour so sorry, know a bit about how mind-wrenching the dilemma is, won't they turn the baby? Hope you figure out what to do and that baby turns for you - is that still a possability?

scooby crawl on all fours, lie on side to sleep (if not already) pref left side, sit on birth/exercise ball or back to fron chair not sofa, avoid driving for long periods. as far as I know thats all you can do to try to turn it around.

pixie jumps up and down thought of things starting...

*iwonka8 congrats on plug excited for everyone..things happening...

iwcas you can hire pools, but not sure how hosp would react to taking in. I bought a £12 paddling pool to take in with high blow up sides if i dont use it the kids can in the summer- Im going to threaten to use it if their ONLY pool is occupied / dirty etc... have been told to book pool when you first ring in about contractions so they can be aware...have just GOT TO HAVE IT! maybe Ill refuse to go in - would they have to send a MW to home then?

mummyelk Unless shes actually pretty much doing it by herself now, I wouldn't potty train - they tend to regress after a family/circumstance change and you'd be in the situation of just latched baby on and I Neeg a WEEEEEE, Im waiting till 2 months after baby born as DS showing signs of being ready. up to you though.
smac have clicked for you like the nippas at IWCAS and the boosters

mawbroon plugs and slugs - now theres a thought...

Well its def not me Ive been having regular BH for week now but not due till end ao Im not being a major queue jumper , Saw consultant today wgo I politely disagreed with re Episiotomies and she had a 30yr old GL male ?student? with her anyway good news is Ive been discharged back to comm MW care which means Im no longer classed high risk (though it still is) and means I can discuss birthing in pool if I want to actually deliver there with MW without having to refer to consultant YIPPEE, oh and not before Id got the Consultant to agree in writing for me to have a sweep at 38/39 wks if I wanted it! So am feeling happy, esp as the comm MW phoned me yesterday to say shed spoken to the head MW of the Bith pool section and shes happy to have me in the pool. (but cant guarantee obv that itll be free)

WOW that was a marathon post

PacificDogwood · 25/02/2010 20:46

Pixie, I've only just realised you'd suspected me - no, most definetely NOT me , still large as a whale with earthquakes occuring in the general abdonminal area.

Henrietta · 25/02/2010 20:49

sorry about typos

ilovegreenbeans · 25/02/2010 20:56

Hmm... not me either. Baby has disengaged herself and walking is sooo much easier, but I'm so sick of being pg that I just want it to come!
Pacific, DH is chief bather in our house too and has been since day 1. A v good habit to get into!
Am munching through an entire bag of microwave popcorn. Will defo regret it later, but oh it's good now!

mawbroon · 25/02/2010 21:04

no change here, could be having these non contractions for days....

lola0109 · 25/02/2010 21:22

Hi all, was on a while ago but got really busy that I couldn't keep up, been checking in though.

Just a wee note to say hope everyone's last few weeks are going ok and congratulations to everyone who has their bundle of joys so far! So jealous but got 4 weeks left so should probably wait my turn!

I'll also be checking out the post natal thread as I love a good birth story!

BusyMissIzzy · 25/02/2010 21:30

Evening all Had some minor excitement this evening; half an hour or so of painful twinges in lower abdomen. Every few mins, and only lasting seconds each, but enough for me to go "ow" and want to double over to relieve them. They stopped once I sat down though, and haven't come back since. Are these BH? Didn't want to get my hopes up that they might be real; still suspect they could just have been trapped wind or aomething Any ideas from those with previous experience??

Sariska sorry to hear about possible redundancy; it's not the same but I'm on a contract that runs out in June and it's not really clear whether it will be extended (but I suspect probably not). It's rubbish not knowing whether I'll have a job to go back to next year.

mawbroon and twofalls sounds like things are definitely moving in the right direction! Good luck to you both

Also keen to know who our as yet anonymous new mum is...

mumofsevenplusfour · 25/02/2010 21:47

thanks everyone for sport still all over the place hormonal in a big way burst into tears over everything good bad and indiffernt .
ended up in casualty with ds4 yesterday he found a toy heart jewel in his sistersabot an inch llong and wide put it in his mouth i told him to take it out he started coughing etc smacked him on the back totry to dislodge it he starts crying jewel no where to be seen checked his mouth etc . phone nhs 24 told to go to casualty . eventually see dr explain what has happened when ds puts hand in trousers pulls out said jewel like a professional magician and says here it is i hid it when you hit my back sorry mummy . i think he thought iwas cross when i hit him on the back.didnt no whether to laugh cry or die of embarrassment .cue one very embarassed mother slinks away tail between legs.drs face was picture. although mega relieved it hadnt been swallowed inhaled etc
still very confused re the next few weeksiwonka wont try to turn because of previous csection
90% certain im going for elcs but half hoping baby sees sense decides to head for the exit and by the time we arrive at maternity its too late but to allow her to make her own entrance into the world. unlikely but i will dream on.am very tempted to try castor oil .
sent for counselling today as when i saw midwife today she realised how anxious tense confused etc i was . very helpful didnt make any decisions but at least let me talk about how terifying the thought of section is . i spent 21/2 years in hospital when younger and now am really phobic about them realised this was more of the issue than cs itself . so at least staff now know why this whole thing is so upsetting and will get to visit postnatal ward as ive never been there before and ask some of the questions i need answered
re potty training id just go with the flow no pun intended if shes ready it will probably come very quickly if shes no harm done put it away and try a little later. no hard and fast rules with my gang some took their own nappies off at 18 months used the potty and were never wet or dirty again day or night with any input from me . while at the other extreme there were one or two who i literally began to think would still be in nappies at 20 as they just didnt seem to care if they were wet at all.
congratulations to all those who look ther abot to have a lo. comiserations to those who are now over their dates its really frustrating

mumofsevenplusfour · 25/02/2010 21:50

should have read sisters room about cant type to save my life

siamesecatwoman · 25/02/2010 22:23

flipping heck the suspense is killing me! Is it swings?

Chinese fest (including bangers and small table dragon) was excellent - DH made; schezwan (sp) chicken, rainbow beef, veg spring rolls, chilli mushrooms and pork pot stickers (like gzoya).. mmm. Now it sounds like oone of my cats is 'helping' clean up.. must get off sofa..

Lovely friends brought round silly baby things including bear outfit to match the bee outfit I already have..

Arcadie · 25/02/2010 22:35

Mumof7+4 AIBU to find the jewel story really quite funny? Sorry if so.. But that the uncertainty of how your birth with you is still rumbling on.

Mawbroon and Twofalls fight fight fight fight... come on scrap it out for the next baby.

..... I think the New mum might be Summer but please don't quote me on it.

mawbroon · 25/02/2010 22:35

just had a lovely nap. going to bed now. nothing doing........

Arcadie · 25/02/2010 22:36

Ahem.... how your birth will be not with you. Trying to type with DH wittering in my ear...

mumofsevenplusfour · 26/02/2010 02:57

Arcadie no yhe jewel incident had me in stiches and really has lightened the mood amidst all the anxiety re elcs etc . everytime i think about him flourishing this jewl at the doctor it brings a smile to my face and has been added to the list stories to tell first girlfriend,or or to remind the bestman of if he ever marries . also if he's ever famous etc

mawbroon · 26/02/2010 03:02

Wot you doing up at this time of night mumof7?

TakeLovingChances · 26/02/2010 06:13

So... I start having 'twinges' at 3pm off and on all afternoon and evening. Have a nice bath before bed, go to bed at 11pm and sleep fine. Wake up at 5am with contractions (?). Being a newbie I'm still not sure if these are contractions or if I just have trapped wind... sorry if tmi!

Anyway, so I try to ignore it and go back to sleep. That doesn't work at all. I finally just get up and come downstairs. It's now 6am and I still am having these feelings off and on. More than twinges now, and I don't think it's trapped wind.... If only my waters would break in a huge rush then I'd know for sure things were on their way. As it is, I just feel like I have the worst period pains ever, feel like there is mighty tugging and pain very low down. Also, I think I had a bit of pee leakage. I am so attractive at the minute

Was a bit of a to log on to this thread and see my name being bandied about as the new mum! Is nice that some of you thought of me, but alas you are wrong! you're maybe just a bit ahead of yourselves!

Also, I'm not on Facebook! I have a bit of a thing against it and don't want my own account, although my DH is on it and sometimes I log on as him to read about our mutual friends/family etc. So if you were super smart detectives and found his page there you would find pictures of me. But seeing as you don't know my real name, I'm guessing that'd be a hard task!

So, sorry to disappoint you. I too am curious to know who this queue jumping new mum is! Reveal your identity please!

Btw, all the best to mawbroon and twofalls!

Summer2008 · 26/02/2010 06:54

Hi all, sorry for delayed post I have been busy queue jumping!!!

My DS arrived on Wed 24th by CS and was 7lb 6 we named him Ethan. Hoping to be going home today and will update you all with the details asap.

Summer xx

PacificDogwood · 26/02/2010 07:17

Summer, congratlations on the arrival of Ethan ! I hope you are both well and you will get home today.

mumof2point5 · 26/02/2010 07:31

are you ok TLC?

mumof2point5 · 26/02/2010 07:34

congrats summer!
love the name

mawbroon · 26/02/2010 07:51

Nothing here except a disturbed night and a whoosh of pink blood and some clots. I phoned the hospital and she said too early. Still no contractions as such, just annoying period type cramps that aren't even sore.

Gawd, it could be like this for days...

Congratulations summer.

TakeLovingChances · 26/02/2010 07:55

Ohhh, congrats to Summer I love the name Ethan!

I have been timing my contractions, am pretty sure now that they are contractions. They're coming anywhere between every 11-8 minutes and last about 40 seconds. Not sure if that's normal or good or bad.

Going to get a shower, wash my hair and shave my legs just in case I end up in hospital later today

Will (try to) keep you all updated.
