just a quick catch up..

skater I made same as pone suggests but without the paracetamol when I was ill... also a couple of cubes of lemon jelly in hot water seems good for sore throats. ANd those kool n soothe strips are lovely for headaches.

I dunno - I am generally ambivalent - but I swing between that and the fact that I am v. grateful to have got this far. I think it would be different if I hadn't had my babyfail - and I think the babyfail affected me more that I would have expected it too.. But I think a whole range of feelings haz gotta be normal innit. I cried alot the first time I got updiffed - Mainly now I am happy tho.. and fucking paranoid.

I haz just come back form day of shopping for clothes. am very happy now

VoilaAnotherGimlet · 16/02/2010 17:34

Ah ladies, you are as ever a source of great comfort and wisdom. Thank you.

Off on a date with TSF now - making the most of time until The End Of The World etc etc. There will be Garlic Bread (but no pancakes - I only really like them if someone else has bothered to make them...). Have lovely evenings!

CurlyCasper · 16/02/2010 18:04

well done on your scan cossie - great news.

Today I think I managed the longest bath yet. and devoured several chapters of two preggo books. I might just be getting the hang of this resting thing...

Feel better soon skates. Thank goodness we have pony around to look after us.

re the wags ski. YOu mean you didn't run up and ask to be friends with them?

Have a lovely date vag and tell us about the clothes iggs. Am of you both.

SkaterGrrrrl · 16/02/2010 18:29

Thanks Pony! I want to be a mum like you when I grow up!

VAG if I made lemon jelly I'd just scoff the lot. Stupid sugar cravings...

CUNextTuesday · 16/02/2010 18:50

Hint: use sugar-free!

Ponymum · 16/02/2010 19:00

Me? Grown up?

skihorse · 16/02/2010 19:17

You must be grown up pony - you've got a real baybee which you've not broken!

Curly I felt momentarily guilty for being judgey but then thought fuck it. They were just so out of place though... it'd be like them rolling in to Kingussie or somewhere like that... wtf?

vag Enjoy your garlic - I have banned it from the house - I saw it being put in to a cookery programme earlier and I was dry-heaving. Garlic = no. A colleague's wife also had this during her pregnancy.

iggy You haz done fashion parade for us?

VoilaAnotherGimlet · 17/02/2010 09:33

I am "craving" garlic (in inverted commas as tbh this is not terribly different to usual) - almost ordered it for dessert too.

Saw "Enron" last night - what a fun show, wasn't expecting it to be a musical. Sam West quite yummy, even from the Grand Circle. Any play that includes lightsabers and puppets must be a good thing.

CUNextTuesday · 17/02/2010 15:15

Just back from 21 week scan. All perfect and everything in the right place. At various times during the scan, Rastus ('he' for the sake of the description - we didn't want to know the sex) was swallowing, arching his head back, hiccuping and chewing his foot as well as wriggling like he was being tickled. It was amazing to see, Hom and I were slack-jawed with wonder.

Then Hom ruined it - I commented that Rastus appeared to have his ears and not mine, and he replied that had the child had my ears they wouldn't fit on the screen

Just arrived home - had some dirty slag supernoodles for lunch

VoilaAnotherGimlet · 17/02/2010 15:20

More good scan news, well done Rastus!

skihorse · 17/02/2010 15:33

What lovely, lovely news cunty!

Get any photos? Why do these men make such awful comments about our delicate lady-features?

OP posts:
CUNextTuesday · 17/02/2010 15:37

yeah but I can't upload them to MN and preserve my sanity at the same time. I'll sort them out for FB later, but Hom has taken the best set to work (not entirely sure why to be honest).

Scan woman said she'd gone overboard on the photos cos Rastus was 'so beautiful' . Although in retrospect I think she may have meant that it was so easy to see the features on account of how he was lying, not because he's a page 3 stunna or owt . I tell you - the detail on the spine and the heart. W-O-W

SkaterGrrrrl · 17/02/2010 15:41

PESHies - I lost the baby this morning.

7.5 weeks it was.

We hadnt told anyone in real life which is why Im clinging to the MN life-raft until SkaterBoy gets home from work - no one else knew I was pregnant.

CurlyCasper · 17/02/2010 15:44

Brilliant news cunty! Chewing his foot sounds hilarious. Sounds like it wasn't the dreadfully serious affair they make out the anomaly scan to be. Very reassuring.

I just managed to record baby's heartbeat using doppler and digital dictaphone and have emailed the sound file to the grandparents. It might mean nothing to them, but trying all I can seeing as they are so far away.

My ebay bargain nappies arrived today. Practised on fake baby already (must stop putting it on its head to fasten the babygro poppers ) I have:

20 one-size nappies (they really do fold down small!)
12 wraps - four each of three sizes.
10 popper-in booster pads
10 bibs
12 little square terry cloths
bag of at least 10 fleece pieces (boosters/wipes)
400 liners
one bin with lid
one laundry bag - though more of a wet nappy bag. will be getting a proper net one.

I'm well pleased! And the Tesco man just brought my choccie biscuits. Cuppa time methinks.

VoilaAnotherGimlet · 17/02/2010 15:45

Oh god Skater I am so sorry. Please be kind to yourself and give yourself time. xx

CurlyCasper · 17/02/2010 15:46

that was, of course, an x-post.

I am soooo sorry skater. Please rant away if you need to, we all care and want to be able to help if at all possible. Big hugs.

iggypiggy · 17/02/2010 15:48

skater I am so so sorry. I know how fucking shit it is - so please do look after yourself. And you can talk to us about it if you want to? xx

CUNextTuesday · 17/02/2010 15:49

OMG skater I'm so so sorry . You poor darling

SkaterGrrrrl · 17/02/2010 15:49

Thanks both - its fecking awful. Really helps knowing you lot are all updiffed and thriving - I 'll get there in the end.

RunLyraRun · 17/02/2010 15:52

Skater my heart turned inside out when I read that. I'm so, so, so sorry

iggypiggy · 17/02/2010 15:53

skater are you on your own? Hope not for long?

RunLyraRun · 17/02/2010 15:54

Talking of getting there in the end - if you want to come back to the Palace when you're ready, I and all the other BESHes will be there for you xx

CurlyCasper · 17/02/2010 15:55

what you say about us is very sweet and selfless skater. Thanks. You are always welcome here, you know that. But should our chat become difficult for you, please remember that many of your old chums are still getting pissed hanging out in the BESH threads in TTC. Many of us chat there too - strength in numbers and all that, should you feel you need it.

Cosmosis · 17/02/2010 15:57

Oh skatesmelove I'm so so sorry. Mucho hugs to you. i know is supposed to be violence and shiz but there's a time and a place for hugs.
